The dragon's harem

Chapter 1038: Unstable

When Gamond faced Arad she could sense that his overall power was almost twice as her. She was the strongest, surpassing everyone by a landslide until he showed up. Arad was almost twice as strong as her in his true draconic form, and that was clear from his magic.

This zesty dragon standing before her now, paler than a white dragon and with enough mana to the strongest of wizards a heart attack. Four times Arad's power, no, probably even more. Space and time themselves seemed to warp and twist around his body. Your adventure continues at My Virtual Library Empire

"Who are you?" Gamond growled, her eyes shifting between Gojo and Arad's wives. ^I must nab them and get the hell out of here…no, can I even outrun this monster?^ She immediately washed that thought to the back of her head, with how much space magic was crackling from him, such a thought was nothing more than a dream.

"Sweetheart, don't even think of running away. I can hear your thoughts and I've already locked this whole demi-plane." Gojo waved his hand and Gamond quickly confirmed that his words weren't a mere boast. He already ripped this training world from Hati's grasp and dominated it, locking all travels in and out. The only way to get out of this world is to outskill Gojo in mastery over space magic.

Gamond smiled, "Then all I need to do is keep you busy until help comes." All she could hope for was to wait for Arad to come and bring powerful people to fend off this monster.

"Sorry, but that won't work." Gojo picked a small stone and threw it away, showing Gamond that the stone stopped mid-air. "The place whole is locked in time magic. Not a single fraction of a second had passed outside."

He looked at her with a smile, "A million years here is a tenth of a second outside."

Gojo glared at Gamond for a few seconds before bursting into laughter, "Sorry! Sorry! Let's keep it at this, no need to go any further or he'll really skin me alive."

"True." Merlin smiled and looked at Gamond, "You can calm down, he isn't a threat to anyone."

Gamond could feel the time and space lock on the training world lift up. "He is Gojo, Arad's older brother. To test Aella's theory about you betraying Arad we just had to bring a stronger dragon."

Gojo looked at Aella, "She was only thinking of how to get your four with her daughter out of this place."

Aella sighed, "So…this proves it." She turned toward Gamond, "You can relax."

"Did you plan this?" Gamond glared at her.

"No, I asked her for help." Aella pointed at Merlin.

"You're one crafty witch…" Gamond growled.

Gojo waved his hand, "If that's all then I'll take my leave. Give Arad's my regards when he comes back." A portal opened up and he walked toward it, stopping right before passing through. "AH, one last thing. Even with my space magic, I can't dominate this space without Hati's consent. Don't piss off that sly fox."

Gojo left as quickly as he came and Merlin looked at Gamond with a disappointed face. "How sad, I wanted to see how strong you actually are…"

"I could see it in your face." Gamond growled at her, "You were waiting for us to fight."

"That was Arad's brother?!" Kory could finally breathe and those were the first words that came out of her mouth.

Merida giggled, "Girl, you've frozen in place. That wouldn't do in a real fight." She looked at her with a smug face.

"I don't think we two are going to get along that well," Kory growled at Merida.

Both Merida and Kory weren't that good at communicating so they kept their words to a minimum. Even now that the tensions seem to be fading blood scent still clouds the air. Aella had accepted Gamond and Kory making the general result a yes. But it'll only take a simple rude comment to start a fight, probably not to the death but at least spark a catfight.

Kory glared at Merida and then at Aella, the two voices inside her head arguing. ^Mira and Isdis were nice…what's up with those three/ A half-dead demonized human, a weak abandoned spirit master, and a half-dragon, not even a true one.^

^Wait…they've been testing mother/ They're ignoring me.^ She had just realized that while the three took her mother seriously and that fourth woman even brought a powerful dragon to test her, all of them seemed to have ignored Kory's existence, leaving her out of the test.

That could only mean one of two things, ^I guess I'm too good for them to reject/ No, they're belittling me, taking me for a push over.^

Kory's two brains started arguing inside her head. She felt like being left out of a conversation, everyone was chatting and talking but never gave her time to speak or listen to her. Her stupid white dragon brain told her they actually cared about her and that it was fine, but her aggressive red dragon brain screamed that they didn't think of her more than the howling wind.

Among everyone, Merida was the most sensitive one. She rarely speaks and always keeps her eyes out for others' behavior. She noticed that Kory sat down, noticed her hand tapping on her thighs, and that her heart rate started rising up.

Merida noticed Kory's rapidly changing behavior. She started to look around at everyone and her mother, her eyes quickly stealing glances at the place where the portal was to make sure Gojo had left. She was extending her claws out and then retracting them, fiddling with a little shard of ice as she seemed deep in thought.

There were now two minds fighting for control inside Kory. If she was only a white drakaina she wouldn't have noticed everyone ignoring her and would've been sitting and behaving well. And if she was a pure red dragon she would've already snapped out at them.

Gamond didn't notice Kory's rapidly changing behavior as it wasn't more than a day since Kory got her second brain. Aella didn't notice, Eris and Merlin were oblivious, and the only one who smelled the coming burst was Merida.

Merida slowly reached to her sword keeping an eye on Kory's arms and legs. "Kory was your name? Right?"

Kory stopped thinking and looked back at her, "Yes, why do you ask."

"Nothing, you just looked to be tired so I asked. Care to talk?"

"Talk about what?"

The two stared at each other in silence for a few seconds, neither of them knowing to keep the conversation going. Merida only called Kory since she was yelled at several times for attacking first and thinking later so she wanted to try breaking the fight before it could even start. Kory on the other hand had gotten even more confused, not knowing if Merida was genuinely trying to talk to her or just mocking her.

"Are you two okay?" Aella looked at Merida and Kory, finally shifting some attention toward them.

"She's mocking me, that's all," Kory growled.

"She looked as if she was about to snap so I called her, nothing more." Merida looked at Gamond, "Is she usually like this?"

"Not since Arad blew her guts out." Gamond sighed, "She's probably just frustrated he did nothing after defeating her."

Each dragon has their own inherited personality based on their heritage. White dragons barely talk much, are usually dumber than other dragons, hold grudges for life, and most likely live off frozen food. Gamond was just too old to be dumb, but that didn't mean she wouldn't occasionally make a dumb comment.

Kory's situation was even worse, on top of her white dragon blood she also has red dragon blood. Red dragons are known for being aggressive, with a temper with deep greed and high pride. Those two brains inside her kept colliding, making it hard for her to think straight, always wavering between the two. As if she has a split personality, but they are actually two brains clashing inside her body.

There was a reason Tiamat kills every dragon that is born with more than one head, they'll eventually go insane and turn into agents of terror and chaos. Yog didn't push Kory just to help him, she wouldn't put the girl in such a situation for no reason.

Kory's powers would've shown up sooner or later, and at that time Tiamat would've flown down to claim her life.

If Kory was to give herself and her power to Arad, Tiamat wouldn't come down to kill her, Yog knew that and she planned accordingly.

Kory's blood started rushing through her veins, the two brains in her body fighting for control. She lost focus and returned to her true dragon form, towering over everyone, a two-headed dragon of extreme power and magic.

"Kory?! KORY! Get back to your human form. What are you doing?" Gamond shouted at her, but Kory wasn't listening. With her two brains clashing inside her she had now regressed into a wild monster, the same rampaging dragon Arad faced.

"So you really were looking for a fight." Merida picked up her sword and was ready to fight. Aella and everyone naturally stood behind her, none of them knew about Kory's situation and Isdis wasn't here to explain.

"Stop! None of you would touch her." Gamond growled at them, "I'll stop her myself."
