Chapter 18: Manufacturing Evidence

When Uchiha Douhuan received the message from Kakashi, he was in the Police Department with Uchiha Fugaku, sorting through the clan's ninjutsu for distribution to the civilian ninjas who would be joining the police force.

The two of them picked out three types of C-rank ninjutsu for each chakra nature from the family's inherited and collected battle spoils. Of course, the fire release techniques were the easiest to pick—famous techniques like the Great Fireball and Phoenix Fire Technique were included. As for the other four chakra nature techniques, while they might not be as strong as those specialized in those elements by other clans, they were still much stronger than what a regular Genin would usually have access to. After all, not just any ninjutsu made it into the Uchiha clan's collection.

"Is it really appropriate to hand out C-rank ninjutsu after just one month of work? Isn't that a bit much?" Uchiha Fugaku hesitated.

"You don't need to worry about it," Uchiha Douhuan replied carelessly. "No matter how many people learn, the ninjutsu won't disappear. As for other clans having to worry about controlling resources, we Uchiha don't have that issue. Our foundation is still the Sharingan."

"Lord Clan Leader, Kakashi Hatake is here," a middle-ranked Uchiha ninja reported, knocking on the door to the office. The ninja was two years younger than Uchiha Douhuan and had just graduated from the ninja academy the previous year. His expression, however, showed that he wasn't particularly happy about Kakashi's visit.

"Kentaro, remember, guests should be treated well," Uchiha Douhuan said, calling out the ninja's name and giving a soft reminder.

"But..." Kentaro seemed like he wanted to say something, but Uchiha Douhuan had already placed a hand on his shoulder, signaling him to accompany him.

"I know what you're thinking. Although Kakashi has one of our clan's eyes, that eye is a gift from our hero, Uchiha Obito, before his death. It's a continuation of Obito's will, and Uchiha respects the decisions of our heroes. Moreover, Kakashi hasn't brought shame to the name of the Sharingan," Uchiha Douhuan said.

The Police Department's office was not far from the reception room, and Uchiha Douhuan did not try to hide his voice. At that moment, Kakashi, who was in the reception room, could clearly hear every word he said.

"By order of the Third Hokage, please report the progress of the investigation into Danzo Shimura's case to the Hokage tomorrow," Kakashi said.

"I understand," Uchiha Douhuan nodded. "I will go tomorrow."

Kakashi was about to leave, but Uchiha Douhuan stopped him.

"Kakashi-senpai, please wait."

"Is something the matter?" Kakashi turned back, looking at Uchiha Douhuan in confusion.

"Since you're already here, you might as well take that Wood Release ninja with you. We've already investigated his issues. Most of the things he did under Danzo's orders were due to his age, and the only thing with any doubts, I'm sure you know what it is. His guilt can only be decided by the Hokage," Uchiha Douhuan said with a smile.

Kakashi remembered the Wood Release ninja he had fought during the protection of the Third Hokage. He nodded in understanding.

Uchiha Douhuan led Kakashi to the area where the interrogation rooms were. The sounds of Shimura Hiroshi and others' screams echoed from the room, causing Kakashi's brow to furrow.

"The interrogation techniques of the Police Department are not as specialized as your Anbu's, so we had to use a bit more special measures," Uchiha Douhuan said without changing his expression. "There's someone inside who's tied to the incident with the White Fang. Would you like to see?"

Kakashi's expression changed slightly, but he still refused the offer. "It's better if I don't go. It might make things worse."

Uchiha Douhuan didn't say more. He just led Kakashi to the door of Yamato's cell, then took out a scroll.

"This guy is the result of Danzo and the rogue ninja Orochimaru's evil experiment. I'll report the details to the Third Hokage tomorrow. This is the key to his sealing technique."

Uchiha Douhuan handed the scroll to Kakashi and signaled for him to take Yamato away.

Soon, Kakashi took Yamato and left to report back. After Kakashi had gone, Uchiha Douhuan turned and entered the cell where Yamanaka Fū was being held.

In contrast to Yamato, Yamanaka Fū's treatment was much worse. Since he was captured, he had been denied food and water, and in just two days, nearly every middle-ranking ninja in the Uchiha clan had taken their turn to beat him. The Sharingan's genjutsu torture had been used on him three times. By now, Yamanaka Fū was nailed to a cross, with no strength left to even lift his head.

Uchiha Douhuan entered the cell, pulled over a desk, and began writing down the crimes of Danzo.

From working with Orochimaru to harm the village's orphans, to deliberately causing the deaths of fellow ninjas on the battlefield to steal their bloodlines, and finally, spreading rumors about the White Fang, which led to the hero of Konoha being driven to suicide, and then covering up by eliminating the related individuals—Uchiha Douhuan wrote it all down in detail.

This was the greatest advantage of being a transmigrator—Uchiha Douhuan didn't even need to interrogate to have Danzo's dirty deeds memorized. The direction for creating evidence was already laid out.

Once he finished writing Danzo's criminal record, Uchiha Douhuan moved forward and cut Yamanaka Fū's finger, pressing it onto the page.

Yamanaka Fū struggled to lift his head, glaring at Uchiha Douhuan as he did so.

At that moment, Uchiha Douhuan's Sharingan quietly activated, and the power of his eyes mixed with his chakra and directly invaded Yamanaka Fū's brain.

Uchiha Douhuan's genjutsu skills were somewhat rough compared to other members of his clan, likely only at a beginner level. A random middle-ranked ninja from his clan would have been far better at genjutsu. However, at this moment, Uchiha Douhuan wasn't trying to make Yamanaka Fū speak. He was simply destroying his mind.
