Chapter 19: Report

In the Hokage's office, Kakashi was truthfully reporting his findings at the Police Department. However, regarding the White Fang incident, Kakashi decided to withhold some details.

After hearing Kakashi's report, Sarutobi Hiruzen looked at the Wood Release ninja, Yamato, who stood beside him, and sighed deeply.

"Child, what is your name?" Sarutobi Hiruzen asked.

Yamato remained silent, and Sarutobi Hiruzen, not minding his lack of response, moved in front of him and personally undid his restraints.

"No name? Then from now on, you will be called Tenzou," Sarutobi Hiruzen said. "The past is behind you, Danzo is dead. From now on, live as a Konoha ninja."

Yamato, or rather Tenzou, was stunned, looking at the very target of the assassination mission he had been given years ago.

"You now possess the First Hokage's Wood Release. Carry on his will to protect the village," Sarutobi Hiruzen continued.

Tenzou's lips quivered as if he wanted to say something but didn't. Instead, he glanced at the Third Hokage before turning his gaze toward Kakashi.

"Kakashi, take good care of this child from now on," Sarutobi Hiruzen said.

"Understood," Kakashi nodded, taking Tenzou and leaving the Hokage's office.

After Kakashi left, Sarutobi Hiruzen returned to his seat and lit a cigarette.

Uchiha Douhuan's unexpected handling of the Wood Release ninja left him somewhat confused. After all, Wood Release was an incredibly powerful ability, and if the Uchiha clan truly intended to rebel, why would they so easily give up such power? Was it possible that Uchiha Douhuan was genuinely aligned with the village?

Sarutobi Hiruzen couldn't help but ask himself these questions.

The next morning, Uchiha Douhuan brought the now-broken Yamanaka Fū to the Hokage's office.

When Uchiha Douhuan arrived, the Hokage's office was already filled with people. In addition to the two advisers, Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado, Nara Shikaku, who had just officially been appointed as the Hokage's assistant following Danzo's death, stood next to Sarutobi Hiruzen.

Seeing the large group, Uchiha Douhuan smiled faintly. Due to the pressure of the shisui genjutsu, Sarutobi Hiruzen was reluctant to meet him one-on-one, but with such a large assembly, Uchiha Douhuan was in his element.

"Hokage-sama, Uchiha Douhuan, the Deputy Head of the Police Department, is here to report," Uchiha Douhuan bowed as he entered.

"Douhuan, you're here," Sarutobi Hiruzen nodded, offering a kind smile.

Before Sarutobi Hiruzen could speak further, Homura Mitokado immediately interjected, "Uchiha Douhuan, you've used the investigation as an excuse to eliminate rivals and slander innocent villagers. How do you explain that?"

Uchiha Douhuan sneered at the two old men. Their high status only afforded them seniority, and Uchiha Douhuan had never taken them seriously.

"Does Hokage-sama think the same way?" Uchiha Douhuan asked, turning his gaze to Sarutobi Hiruzen.

"Douhuan, your methods have been a bit extreme," Sarutobi Hiruzen responded without directly agreeing, preparing to admonish Uchiha Douhuan.

"Against Danzo Shimura and his gang, a village cancer! What other method could there be besides using a heavy hand?" Uchiha Douhuan's voice grew sharper. "In just the things we've uncovered so far, it's enough to shake anyone to the core!"

Saying this, Uchiha Douhuan brought out the criminal record of Danzo Shimura that he had written the night before and placed it on Sarutobi Hiruzen's desk.

"Danzo Shimura, for the sake of my clan's bloodline, has deliberately killed 14 Uchiha clan members during the Third Great Ninja War, all of which are documented! And that's not all. After the Hokage's direct order to stop human experimentation, Danzo continued working with the rogue ninja Orochimaru, abducting orphans for experiments. The youngest child was only two years old!"

"Such a demon and his accomplices—do you still intend to protect them?" Uchiha Douhuan's gaze swept over Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane. "Can you still stand by this, knowing what Danzo did? Can you justify this to the Will of Fire, to the founding intention of the First Hokage, who established this village to protect the children from war?"

"You..." Koharu Utatane was furious, but the accusations were so severe that even she could not deny them.

"Douhuan, calm down. They didn't know what Danzo did," Sarutobi Hiruzen sighed, attempting to defend his old friends. He picked up the criminal record of Danzo and read through it.

Seeing the list of crimes, even though Sarutobi Hiruzen was already somewhat aware, he couldn't help but be stunned. Danzo's audacity was far greater than he had imagined.

"These crimes were confessed by Yamanaka Fū, a key member of Danzo's criminal organization," Uchiha Douhuan said as he dragged the dazed Yamanaka Fū forward and threw him at their feet.

Upon hearing this name, Nara Shikaku, who had remained silent until now, narrowed his eyes and looked at Uchiha Douhuan. He met his gaze, and Uchiha Douhuan, with a faint smile, stared right back at him.

"Although there were some issues during the interrogation, and he tried to resist with the Yamanaka clan's secret techniques to counter my genjutsu, causing severe brain damage, before all that, he confessed to everything he did."

"Aba... Aba Aba!"

Nara Shikaku sighed deeply. With his intelligence, he understood that this was the Uchiha clan's way of sending a clear message to the three major clans. He lowered his head, recognizing that this was no longer something he could involve himself in. The struggle between the Uchiha clan and the higher-ups had become a game where even the slightest misstep could lead to irreparable consequences for the allied clans.

"Hokage-sama, to avoid further incidents like this, I request that some Anbu interrogation personnel be sent to assist, since the Police Department lacks professional interrogation techniques for dealing with ninjas," Uchiha Douhuan spoke again.

Sarutobi Hiruzen thought for a moment and nodded. "I will send people to assist at the Police Department."

"Thank you, Hokage-sama," Uchiha Douhuan's eyes flickered as he spoke.

Sarutobi Hiruzen, though agreeing to send help, likely had the intention of keeping an eye on the Uchiha clan, but Uchiha Douhuan wasn't concerned. After all, the final outcome of this situation would depend on his own actions.

Sarutobi Hiruzen glanced at the final part of the criminal record—about the White Fang incident.
