The Gamer who traveled to Honkai: Star Rail

Chapter 412: Chapter 411: A Light Held Close… and Stelle

That voice saved them both.

March 7th coughed lightly and quickly spoke, "Ahem! Stelle's here. Let's show her our treasure too~"

Her face still flushed, she hurried over to open the door. The moment Stelle stepped inside, she immediately noticed something was off—the room was clearly several degrees warmer than the hallway outside.

Sensing the unusual atmosphere, a glint of understanding flashed in Stelle's eyes. As someone who had been raised under Pei Guang's influence, she was sharp as ever.

"Ohhh~ I see how it is! I remember March mentioning she got two treasures! You two were trying to keep them all to yourselves, huh? Hmph, too bad for you—I was one step ahead! Come on, come on! Show me March's golden treasure~"

March 7th turned to Pei Guang and smirked. "Better just let her see it, or else~ she'll never stop nagging and getting jealous~"

Stelle scoffed, crossing her arms. "Me? Jealous? Ha! Just look at this—golden Light Cone! And this—orange War-Flaming Lance! Why would I be jealous?"

March 7th puffed up her chest in response, snatching the two Light Cones from Pei Guang's hands. "Oh yeah? Look at this! Another golden Light Cone! And look at this! A golden skill!"

Stelle's eyes twitched, but she still held out her hand. "Alright, alright, lemme take a look."

March 7th grinned. "Here ya go!"

Taking the Light Cones, Stelle barely even glanced at the one that looked serious and proper. Instead, her focus immediately fell on the one titled "March 7th's Memory's Beginning."

Everyone knew what Light Cones did—at the end of the day, even the rarest ones were just different in how they enhanced the user. What really caught Stelle's attention, however, was the image of March 7th on this one.

Like Pei Guang earlier, Stelle tilted the Light Cone, leaning her head sideways as if she could peek into its two-dimensional surface and uncover something… indecent.

"Hmm! Can't see a thing!"

March 7th: "!!!"

Her eyes widened in shock. "Wait! Why are YOU looking at it like that too?!"

Stelle replied without hesitation. "Because it's really tempting! That feeling of 'maybe you can see something, but actually you can't' is driving my curiosity wild!"

She said it openly and confidently—almost identical to what Pei Guang had said earlier.

March 7th stared at Stelle. Then she turned to Pei Guang. Then back to Stelle again.

"See?! This is what you've been teaching her!"

Pei Guang shrugged innocently. "It's human nature to appreciate beauty—how is this my fault? If anything, it's your fault for being too charming, March."

Stelle nodded sagely, arms crossed. "He's right. March, you're just too charming."

March 7th clenched her fists. "You two… are ASKING for it!"

What was supposed to be a little moment of showing off her golden Light Cone had now devolved into a full-on pillow war.

In the small confines of March 7th's room, the three of them tossed and swung pillows at each other, their laughter echoing through the train.

And in that small space—no matter how cramped, no matter how messy—the three of them felt like they were in the happiest place in the entire universe.

After exhausting themselves, the three collapsed onto March 7th's tiny bed.

Because the bed was too small, they had to lie across it horizontally, their lower halves dangling off the edge. But as they lay there, staring up at the ceiling, none of them minded.

There was a strange sense of comfort.

Staring at the ceiling, March 7th reached out, trying to grasp the light that was impossible to hold. The glow from the lamp was intangible, yet it filled the entire room, wrapping around her and keeping the darkness at bay.

Maybe she was just too exhausted, or maybe the warmth of the light made her feel safe. Slowly, she closed her eyes.

When Pei Guang and Stelle heard the steady rhythm of her breathing, they both carefully sat up. After exchanging a glance, they quietly made their way toward the door.

Just as Pei Guang was about to get up, March 7th reached out in her sleep, grabbing onto the hem of his shirt.

"...Got the light..."

Her subconscious action made Pei Guang pause. He looked at Stelle, and the two of them had a silent conversation with their eyes.

Pei Guang: You go ahead. I'll stay with her a little longer.

Stelle: Got it~

After a nod of understanding, Stelle left the room first while Pei Guang lay back down, letting March 7th cling to his shirt without resistance.

To make sure she slept comfortably, Stelle turned off the light before leaving. As darkness settled over the room, Pei Guang felt March 7th's grip tighten.

He wasn't sure how much time passed. An hour? Maybe several? Eventually, he felt her fingers loosen.

In the darkness, he quietly whispered, "Good night," before carefully getting up and leaving the room.

What Pei Guang didn't know was that the moment he left, March 7th's eyes opened.

She hadn't been pretending to sleep—she had truly dozed off. But when she let go, it wasn't because she had fallen into a deeper slumber. It was because she had woken up.

She wasn't sure how things had escalated from sharing her Light Cones to a pillow fight and then to them falling asleep together.

But one thing was clear—this time, she had held onto something she truly wanted to hold onto.

Thinking about that, a smile crept onto her face. The once-empty spaces in her heart were now glowing with warmth.

Meanwhile, outside the room, Pei Guang found Stelle gazing out the window. The massive ships of the Xianzhou Luofu loomed beyond the train, their lights shining against the vastness of space.

She stood quietly, watching the fleet as she waited for him.

As Pei Guang approached, he spoke up. "You've been standing here this whole time?"

Stelle shrugged. "You were lying in there the whole time too~ Anyway, Ah Guang, now that we're back, doesn't that mean we're officially done with everything on the Luofu?"

Pei Guang glanced out at the Xianzhou's ships. "Probably. The main story's wrapped up, we've cleared a ton of side quests, our reputation's maxed out—it really does feel like there's nothing left to do."

Stelle tapped her chin. "What about your territory?"

Pei Guang shook his head. "Nothing urgent. The Herta Puppets and Elysia have everything running smoothly. Until the first starship launches, the Antimatter Legion isn't making any moves, so there's nothing for us to do. My forces can go toe-to-toe with the Legion now—no issues there."

Stelle sighed dramatically. "So we really have nothing to do, huh? Ugh, this sudden free time is making me restless! And worst of all, March is getting all the benefits from it. Unstoppable Ah Guang~ come on, find something for us to do! I don't wanna be idle!"

Ever since she had woken up and met Pei Guang, she felt like they had never truly stopped moving. Especially when they arrived at a new location—somehow, in just one day, they managed to get an impossible amount of things done.

Even she thought it was absurd.

Looking back, they had technically only spent a single day solving major crises, yet in her memories, it felt like they had lived through six whole months of adventure.

Those days had been fun—full of excitement and laughter. But now that they were slowing down, Stelle couldn't shake a sense of unease.

Sure, maybe it would only be a day or two before their next adventure.

But what if those days stretched into months…? Years…? Or maybe… forever?

She couldn't let that happen.

So she placed all her hopes on Pei Guang, trusting that he would find something fun for them to do.

Of course, fun wasn't the real priority here.

Deep down, Stelle had a gut feeling.

If time froze at this moment…

The ultimate winner would be March 7th.

And she, the legendary Galactic Baseballer, would only lose, lose, and lose!

That was unacceptable.

No matter what—she had to win!
