Chapter 415: Chapter 414: The Trailblazers’ Surprise Visitor
"When did… this house appear?"
The fully armed girl stood in front of the newly built house, her alertness raised to the highest level.
After thinking for a moment, she decided to stay away from this strange house. However, before leaving, she planned to retrieve some of the food she had hidden in the surrounding area.
To travel further than last time, Lynx had previously stashed a considerable amount of basic supplies in various locations nearby before heading back. Now, with the resources she had just brought along, she would be able to explore even farther.
Yet, as she searched, she noticed something even stranger—every single one of her hidden supplies was gone. Not just the supplies, but the surrounding trees and abandoned buildings had also disappeared. Even some of the larger rocks in the area were missing.
"What happened here? This doesn't look like signs of a battle, nor does it seem like the work of Fragmentum creatures. Could it be that someone actually built this house using the resources from the area? In such a dangerous place… they built a house?"
Although Pei Guang and the others had gathered and built in a way completely different from normal methods, Lynx could still deduce what had happened by observing the traces left behind.
For any explorer, reading the terrain and understanding changes in the environment was a necessary survival skill. In this world, aside from natural dangers, the ever-present threat of the Fragmentum made it essential to have such analytical abilities—otherwise, one wouldn't even know how they died.
After piecing together the truth, Lynx's expression turned serious. She admitted it—she was curious. Taking a deep breath, she decided to go investigate.
First, she ensured her escape route was ready by preparing her snowboard, then cautiously approached the house to see what was going on. If it turned out to be a structure created by the Fragmentum, she would immediately flee.
But if it really was a house built by regular people, she would try to convince them to leave. This area was far too dangerous. As for her missing supplies? She didn't really mind. If they had helped someone survive in this frozen wasteland, then Lynx was more than happy to have contributed.
Carefully, Lynx reached the house and began inspecting it. The structure was completely different from any normal house—its walls were made up of tightly fitted blocks. She cautiously tapped on the surface with her tool, listening to the sound it produced. From the sound alone, she could tell it was just ordinary stone.
"Amazing… To process stone like this—it's really incredible."
Lynx continued her careful inspection, unaware that her knocking was clearly heard by the people inside.
Inside the house, Pei Guang placed the supplies he had gathered from the snowfield onto the table. "You guys might not believe this, but aside from getting that potion recipe, I also collected a ton of supplies—dried meat, compressed rations… Looks like we're having a feast tonight."
March 7th glanced at the food he had pulled out and couldn't help but comment, "In this icy wasteland, are you sure this food is still edible? Some of this stuff might be hundreds of years old."
Pei Guang shrugged. "No worries. I checked and tasted it—it's perfectly fine!"
As Pei Guang and March 7th bantered, Stelle, who had been sitting next to Pei Guang playing on her phone, suddenly sat up straight. "Ah Guang! March! Listen… I think someone's knocking on our house."
She had just heard a distinct tapping sound—not the chaotic noise of the wind carrying debris, but the deliberate tapping of a tool against their house.
Her words instantly put Pei Guang and March 7th on alert.
March 7th whispered, "Could it be those Fragmentum monsters coming after us?!"
Pei Guang: "Maybe. Looks like it's time for a home defense battle—let me take the lead!"
Pei Guang drew his weapon and stepped outside. The moment he exited the house, he unleashed a quick combo—flipping a middle finger as provocation before swinging his wooden sword, now engulfed in Savory Truefire, straight at the enemy.
March 7th reacted just as swiftly. She pulled back her bowstring, aiming at whatever was waiting outside. With the power of real-time ray tracing enhancing her vision, she felt like this shot could pierce through any Fragmentum entity—even the extra-dimensional ice that normally countered her abilities.
Stelle was even faster. She pulled out her bat, gave it a practiced spin, and in an instant, it ignited with a dazzling blue glow. With a smooth roll, she darted out of the house, raising her bat and locking onto the target.
The three of them unleashed their full power, ready to strike down whatever was lurking outside. But just as they burst out of the house and got a clear look at their supposed enemy—a girl standing at the door clutching a snowboard, seemingly about to bolt—their attacks came to an immediate halt.
Stelle: "A person?"
Pei Guang: "It's a person?"
March 7th: "What an adorable girl~ Little sis, what are you doing here?"
Lynx had been fully prepared to make a speedy getaway on her snowboard the moment she saw movement from the house. But just as she was about to dash off, she suddenly recognized the voices. That made her stop in her tracks.
"You're… the Trailblazers? Greetings, Trailblazers. I'm Lynx…" Her voice was calm and slightly deep, but there was an underlying nervousness to it.
Stelle turned to Pei Guang. "Look at that, even out in the middle of this frozen wasteland, people recognize us."
Pei Guang grinned. "Of course! You think we grinded all that reputation in Belobog for nothing? I'm telling you, if we wanted to, we could totally get a high-ranking government job here."
As the three of them exchanged words, they casually stowed away their weapons. But Lynx, noticing their relaxed demeanor, suddenly spoke with a hint of excitement in her tone. "When I went back, Pela dragged me to tell me all about what you guys did. She even showed me some of the footage, so I recognized you right away."
While Pei Guang and his team were causing chaos in Belobog, Lynx had been out on an expedition. By the time she returned, the Trailblazers had already left the city. However, when she went back, Pela had taken her to the History and Culture Museum
The museum was undergoing renovations, but that didn't stop Pela from sneaking Lynx in to see the record of the Trailblazers' deeds in Belobog. The final battle—Bronya facing off against the Stellaron—was particularly unforgettable. Even someone like Lynx, who wasn't known for her combat prowess, had felt a surge of excitement watching it.
And because she had seen those recordings, she instantly recognized the group standing before her now—the saviors of Belobog, the legendary Trailblazers.
But there was one thing Lynx couldn't figure out—how in the world were they here?
Lynx: "Why are you here…? I remember Pela telling me that you all had left this world aboard the Astral Express…"
