Chapter 112: How did you become a slave?
"Holy shit!"
"Woah!"
Kyana and Nadya stumbled to their hands and knees after being teleported to Kai's mansion. They weren't used to being teleported, so the act made them feel slightly uncomfortable.
It took them a minute to get themselves back together, stumbling as they stood up and needing a chair to sit on. But after that wore off, shock riddled their face once they realized Kai had used teleportation magic.
"E-Excuse me, Master. May I ask you a question?" Nadya asked, slightly nervous to speak.
"What's up?"
"Y-You're able to use teleportation magic?" She asked in awe. As a mage herself, she was fascinated by rare types of magic. Sure was a defensive and supportive mage, but that didn't mean she didn't find other types of magic interesting.
"Yup. I do a lot more than that as well." He smirked, placing his hands on his his like a superhero.
'He's stronger than I thought. Especially after seeing him easily kill those assassins with his aura alone.' Kyana's thoughts of escaping flew out the window after seeing Kai's true power.
"Alright, let's get down to business." With the snap of his fingers, Kai not only destroyed the slave collars on their necks, but also the salve contracts.
The two girls were left stunned. They knew he said that he wouldn't be their master for long, but they never expected him to free them. While they weren't as strong as he was, they were prized as valuable slaves. No one in their right mind would let them free just because, but Kai just did.
"W-What's the meaning of this?" Kyana asked. Although she was thankful, she didn't trust Kai or the others. She was still on her guard and would defend herself when the time came.
Nadya felt the same way. Though she didn't know Kyana like that, they were both slaves, so it was easier for her to trust someone who was in the same position as her.
"Relax. Didn't I tell you that I want you two in my Party? Look. Amaya is our main damage dealer. She uses a sword. Gwen, although she likes to punch things, is our mage, offensive mage to be exact. Sasha is our tank, our first line of defense. You, Kyana, will be our archer, and Nadya will be our healer." Kai explained with a wide smirk.
After so many hours in class-based RPGs, he was having so much fun being able to relive a game in real life.
"And you?" Kyana asked
"Me? Well, I'm an all-rounder. I can be in any position. You see, I have many abilities and I'm strong as fuck." He smirked, rubbing his nose with pride.
Kyana and Nadya believed him. They had seen what he was capable of.
Nadya still wasn't on board. Her fingers were circling around each other, and she never maintained eye contact with Kai that lasted more than three seconds. "B-But why us? I'm sure there are other qualified people who could be in your Party."
"Well, first of all, finding people who match my standards takes time. Second, my search narrowed because I was looking for a human and an elf. I wanted my party to consist of every race."
Kyana and Nadya looked at Gwen.
"I'm a Dragonborn." She informed them.
The two of them widened their eyes in shock before calming down.
"And you?" Kyana asked
"Believe it or not, I'm a demigod. My dad is a supreme deity, more powerful than the ones of this world. He sent me here to have as much fun as I want." Kai knew they wouldn't believe him, but it was still something he wanted to say, for himself.
"Don't pay him any mind, he's just a stupid human who happens to be really strong." Gwen popped him in the back of the head.
"S-Since we're free, does this mean we can decline?" Nadya wondered.
This thought didn't even cross Kyana's mind, so when Nadya asked that question, she turned to Kai, wondering what his response would be.
He smiled. "Sure, you can. I won't stop you. However, if you stay with me, your lives will forever be changed."
'Even if you said no, I would just hypnotize you anyway. How do you think I got all my girls currently?'
"I already know why you two would want to decline." Kai took a seat, and the others followed his actions. "You were both sold into slavery because of some bullshit, huh? You were dreading the day when someone would buy you and use you as sex slaves, but now, since you are both free, you want revenge. Am I wrong?" He asked.
Kai didn't even need to read their minds to figure that out.
"H-How did you know?" Kyana wondered, feeling seen through.
"Your attitude is too prideful to be a slave. Not to mention your power level. Unless you killed someone really important, there's no way you would be a slave."
She sighed. "You're right. I was an Adventurer, a B-Rank, getting ready to rank up to an A-Rank. My party, whom I had known for about a year at that point, decided to take a quest that involved killing slave traffickers. Unfortunately for me, my entire party was a part of that organization. I fought back, but I was overwhelmed and beaten. The men wanted to take advantage of me, but their boss told them not to, since virgins sell for more gold. The rest, you already know. This was six months ago."
You could see the anger on her face as she told her story. People she trusted, who she would protect with her life, betrayed her and sold her into slavery. That could break someone, and if it wasn't for her strong will, she would have been.
"I was a noble. Daughter of a Viscount. My family had a horrible history with a fellow noble family. For generations, our families hated each other and would always dispute. The Patriarchs of our houses didn't take things too far, being hostile but also civil, but everything changed when an ore mine was found on the border of our territories. The rival house declared a territorial war, and we lost. We lost all of our soldiers and servants, my father and brothers were killed, and my mother and I were sold into slavery. However, she couldn't bear the loss and took her own life."
Nadya started crying, remembering the horrible things she had to go through. She couldn't even pretend to just be sad; her eyes, her emotions betrayed her, and she just wept like a baby.
Kai couldn't deny that he was moved by their backstories. They had everything in order to make them villains, but luckily for them, they met him first.
With a smirk, Kai leaned back on the couch and started speaking.
"Count yourself lucky, because I'll help you both get revenge."
"W-What do you mean? You can't attack nobles." Nadya informed him.
"So you're saying that I didn't kill one today?" He asked with a smile on his face.
The two of them straightened their backs when they remembered what he had done earlier.
"Besides." He took out a sword from his inventory, placing it on the coffee table that sat between the couches. "I'm sure they wouldn't be able to go against this."
