The Immortal Born from Ashes

Chapter 24: Chapter 24:Night in the cursed forest

Han Wu was running.

Haah… haah… haah…

He couldn't catch his breath.

But let's rewind a bit.

"I gotta hunt if I want money," Han Wu thought.

He'd seen people selling beast blood, monster claws, rare herbs, and all kinds of crazy stuff.

But how could he hunt beasts when he was this weak? Guess he'd start small—hunting normal wild animals.

The forest looked normal enough. "Heard it's dangerous, though," he muttered as he went deeper.

Swish!

Suddenly, a rabbit darted past him. "Fast little thing… must be a first-rank beast," Han Wu said to himself.

He took off after it, chasing the quick creature through the trees.

After a while, he finally caught it. "Food for today!"

But then he noticed a cave nearby. "Maybe I can stay here tonight."

Night fell. Han Wu started a fire and roasted the rabbit he'd caught.

He ate like he hadn't had food in days—which was true.

Suddenly, a growl. "A beast!"

His heart raced. "Wait, does this cave belong to the beast? I need to get out of here!"

But escape wasn't easy. The beast was no joke—a mid-stage Foundation Establishment cultivator.

Boom!

Han Wu bolted for his life.

(If you thought it was some giant monster, nope. Just bad news for Han Wu, no epic boss fight.)

Back to the chase. The beast was closing in fast.

Swish!

Then a sash sliced through the air, and the beast collapsed.

"Kid, what are you doing in the forest? Don't you know it's forbidden to be here at night?"

A Golden Core expert appeared, looking down at Han Wu.

"You're not from around here, are you? Where do you come from?"

Han Wu stayed silent.

"Guess you don't wanna say. Hahaha."

"Come with me. I'll teach you how to cultivate."

The expert chuckled, "Not many have the guts to stay quiet in front of a Golden Core expert."

Han Wu just nodded.

"Han Wu was flying—not because he could, but because the old master was holding him."

Outside the forest now, the expert said,

"Kid, I can't teach you everything, but I can help you grow."

Han Wu nodded again.

"Hahaha, 'OK' seems to be your favorite word."

"If you want to hunt, remember—you're not strong enough yet."

"Don't worry. From now on, you're with me. This old master will help you."

Meanwhile, far away, the other old master in that mysterious place watched Yun Wao's cultivation progress—and he was completely shocked.
