Chapter 4: A Glimmer of Hope

That night, as Yuta lay on the cold stone floor of his cell, staring up at the ceiling, he reflected on everything that had led him here. His past life, the struggles with his weight and depression, had all led to this moment. Was it fate? Or just sheer accident?

He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath. The Yuta from Earth would have given up by now. The Yuta who had hidden from his problems, who had let the world pass him by. But the Yuta in this new world—the one who had somehow washed up on Cake Island and ended up a prisoner of one of the most powerful pirates alive—he wasn't done yet.

This world had been thrown at him with no warning, but that didn't mean he couldn't survive. He might not be a fighter like the ones he had read about, but he had something that could help him in this new world: the will to push forward, the desire to be better.

Yuta wasn't sure how, or when, or even why, but he knew one thing—he was going to survive.

Because in this world, he was more than just the fat kid who had let himself go. He was going to fight. And whatever it took, he would carve out a future for himself.
