The irisistible rejected mate: Two brothers lover, she became haughty

Chapter 6: venom & possession

~Author's POV~

"Just be my contract lover, and you'll get the chance to be a wolf… and a place for your child."

Her breath hitched. Hearing those words—it was pure temptation.

Innes' heart raced like it was about to leap out of her chest. She couldn't believe that such words were coming from Chase—a man who, for some reason, disliked her. An Alpha, no less.

She wanted to move away from him immediately, to resist the temptation in his voice. She knew exactly what kind of devil he was. Accepting his offer, which made no sense to her, was like digging her own grave.

Chase's grin widened. He didn't seem offended by her reaction—it was as if he had expected her to refuse.

"Look at you, Innes. You're a beauty. Do you think you can survive out there in the wild? You're a pregnant she-wolf. Do you think rogue Alphas, who crave the taste of a helpless rogue like you, will let you keep your child? Think, Innes."

His voice was like the devil whispering in her ear. Innes bit her lip, his words sinking into her mind.

Could she really survive out there? She could be selfish and refuse him, but at what cost? Losing her child? Becoming nothing more than a whore to rogue Alphas?

Back in the Wolf Domain, she could protect herself when her feral pheromones had not yet fully developed. But now… after finding her mate, they had weakened, leaving her vulnerable. Before, Alphas had been drawn to her scent, but they couldn't act on it—because she belonged to Max.

Max. The only good thing that had ever happened to her.

Her heart clenched painfully, memories forcing their way back in.

Chase smirked as he watched her, his sharp eyes catching every flicker of emotion on her face. Even as she was lost in thought, she still instinctively tried to move away from him.

"What do you want from me?"

Suddenly, Innes cupped Chase's face, her touch catching him off guard.

Chase closed his eyes briefly, as if savoring the warmth of her hand on his skin.

"Simple." His voice was smooth, dangerous. "Be my contract lover. Serve me—in bed and in anything else I desire. This will stay between the two of us."

His smile deepened, his words slipping into her ears like Lucifer himself whispering sweet destruction.

Innes blinked once before focusing on him. It was just as she had thought, but she had never expected it from the man who seemed to hate her. Never could she have imagined that Chase harbored such thoughts about her. She was something other Alphas wanted to take advantage of.

"Since you've accepted this offer, then—" Chase began, his hand shifting to her neck as he tilted her chin up, exposing her bare throat.

"Have you ever heard of werewolf venom?" Chase asked, pausing halfway, his gaze locking onto hers.

"No, I don't know about that," Innes responded, trying to ignore his wandering hand as it traced back and forth over her skin.

"It's similar to marking, but not quite. However, it would be as if I were making you my granddaughter."

What?

Innes' mind snapped, trying to process his words. Her body moved instinctively in protest, as if to stop whatever was about to happen.

"What is that reaction? Stay still."

Chase's eyes darkened, his voice sharp and commanding. Before she could react, his grip tightened on her waist. She hadn't even realized she was trying to pull away until a yelp escaped her lips.

"This frightened expression of yours… it's everything."

Chase's lips brushed against her neck. Then she felt it—his fangs pressing against her skin.

Innes' heart pounded so violently it felt like it might burst from her chest. She tensed, instinctively wanting to back away, but Chase held her in place.

Then—he bit down.

A sharp, searing pain shot through her, and she trembled, her hands clutching at him desperately.

Fire. Heat. It spread from her neck, burning through her veins, overwhelming her.

But Chase didn't stop. His fangs sank deeper.

Innes screamed.

Her eyes widened in agony, tears spilling down her cheeks. Her legs buckled, unable to hold her weight, but Chase's arm was firm around her waist, keeping her from collapsing.

"Chase…" she gasped weakly, her voice barely more than a whisper—lifeless, drained.

"You'll feel it soon," Chase said, his tone devoid of playfulness.

"W-what's happening?" Innes mumbled weakly, a sudden eruption of pain surging through her.

A volcano ignited in her veins.

The blaze in her veins had evolved beyond mere discomfort. It ran deeper—more intense—an intolerable ache snaking through her body settling in her gut, between her legs. She sensed it beating, pounding, yearning.

Her wolf started to stir.

Her brain yelled no, but her form moved by itself leaning into Chase, her fingernails sinking into his shirt. She couldn't hold back the hungry little sound that escaped her mouth.

"You sense it, right?" His words came out soft aware, cocky.

She wished to refute it wished to shove him off, but her thighs squeezed without her control, her physique betraying her in the worst way.

Chase's hands tightened on her hips.

"Your aroma just shifted," he whispered against her skin breathing in . Relishing it.

Blood rushed to her cheeks. No, no, no.

This feels wrong. She still belonged to Max.

Didn't she?

Then why did her leg press against Chase's rubbing on its own?

"You're resisting," he said, as his hand moved up her belly, his fingers touching the bottom of her breast. "But your body is already aware."

She trembled.

"Aware of what?"

"Who owns it now."

His teeth grazed the new bite mark, his tongue darting over it causing a sudden spike of pleasure straight between her legs.

Chase watched her with amusement while she arched her back from pleasure.

The sound of his voice became seductive as he pushed his fingers beneath her shirt to touch her bare skin. "Let go, Innes. Give in."
