The irisistible rejected mate: Two brothers lover, she became haughty

Chapter 5: Biggest Bully is back

~Innes pov~

"That was… wow."

A stranger's voice broke the silence, accompanied by the slow, mocking sound of clapping.

A chill ran down my spine.

My heart raced, and I hoped—prayed—that it wasn't who I thought it was behind me.

The horrors I had felt from the Alpha still hadn't faded. And now… it was him.

I wasn't sure yet, but I hoped—desperately—that I was wrong.

My body turned on instinct, my gaze locking onto that person.

Those fierce, hazel-like eyes that looked almost red.

That face—the one that, no matter how much time passed, always made tears well up in my eyes.

I didn't want to stand there. I didn't want to see his face or have a conversation with him.

My biggest bully.

So my legs moved—I wanted to run.

But he was faster.

In a blur, I found myself moving at his speed before he finally pinned me against the wall.

His gaze burned into me. I squeezed my eyes shut, refusing to look at him, refusing to give him the chance to speak.

My body ached. Everything felt like a different kind of disaster all at once.

"Long time no see, Innes. It's been nine years since I last saw you, right?"

His hot, clean breath fanned against my skin, his deep, ocean-like voice echoing in my ears.

Chase.

Why was he back?

When I left the rogue domain, I thought I'd never see him again.

I had been relieved. I thought I was finally free of him.

But things were different now.

As it turned out, Chase wasn't just any rogue werewolf like I had assumed.

He was worse.

He was my mate's brother.

Back in the rogue domain, Chase used to bully me relentlessly. And I never understood why.

Why would a powerful, mature werewolf like him find pleasure in tormenting a rogue she-wolf like me?

It was as if he fed off my suffering.

As if, if he didn't bully me for a single day, his heart wouldn't be satisfied.

Chase was one of the biggest reasons I had wanted to escape the rogue domain.

And now, he was here.

After Max was taken back to his pack, I was forced to leave too.

I had no idea that the pack I shifted to was Max's pack—nor that Max would be my mate.

I never met Chase in Max's pack.

I only heard rumors about Max's brothers, and every description of one of them connected back to Chase.

I was terrified.

But when I heard he was on a secret mission, I prayed Max's brother would never return. I didn't want to know if he was Chase or not.

But today, my worst nightmare came true.

"Stupid female. Looks like my brother rejected you."

Chase's hand cupped my cheek, tilting my chin up and making my lips pout slightly.

I furrowed my brow, trying to shift my face away from his touch.

I could never be as submissive to Chase as I was with Max.

Because Chase wasn't my mate.

And he was not someone I was willing to show my weaknesses to—not after all these years.

"You're acting tough, Innes. I must say, you are tough."

Chase chuckled, the sound laced with mockery. As if amused by the fact that I couldn't escape his grasp.

His powerful hand pinned my wrist against the wall, holding it high above my head.

I couldn't understand him—his eyes, the way he looked at me.

My heart raced.

Then he frowned. His expression shifted, like he was… frustrated.

I didn't know if he was faking it or if it was real.

Or if he was angry because my face didn't show the fear he wanted to see.

"Who asked you to go and be my brother's mate?" His voice was sharp—dangerous.

A low chuckle slipped from his lips, unhinged, like a madman.

I was confused. My body trembled under his hold. Did he really have to yell at me like that?

And why was he even asking me this? It wasn't his business.

Even if my mate was his brother. His words also reminded me of Max.

Of how he had just rejected me. And my chest couldn't help but ache.

I thought my wolf was dead. But maybe she had just been in a coma.

Because now… I could feel her waking up. Like she was reacting to something.

My breath hitched. And I couldn't help but glance at Chase.

My gaze lingered on him a little longer. He was still frowning.

I can't accept this feeling—I refuse to. For some reason, I wished my wolf was actually dead.

It might sound cruel, but it would be for the better. "Impossible," Chase suddenly said.

And I wished I could say the exact same thing. I felt my heart grow warm, racing with irregular beats.

And then—I heard it. Chase's heart.

It was racing too. I blinked and licked my lips, trying to moisten them.

My throat was dry. I wasn't comfortable with whatever was happening. I panicked.

I tried to push Chase away, but his hand left the wall, the same wall he had pinned me against—only to grab my wrist instead.

"So you're my little mate."

Chase smirked. And my heart fell. No.This was what I had been feeling.

I didn't want to accept it, but Chase… Chase turned out to be my mate.

My second-chance mate. I didn't want him as my mate.

But even if he rejected me, I'd be the one who would suffer for it.

The choice was cruel—I didn't want to be hurt again."I don't want my brother's used product."

Chase's words nearly made me choke in shock.

"I, Chase of Darkhill Pack, reject you as my mate."

I was rejected.

By my biggest bully.

By my second-chance mate.

His words hit me deep in my soul—a wound I couldn't heal from.vMy wolf screamed. I screamed.

And then—my wolf took her final breath. Tears streamed down my face.

My body wanted to collapse, but Chase still had me pinned to the wall. I didn't fall.

"You look beautiful with those puffy eyes," Chase said.

I wasn't even focused on his expression. Because if he was enjoying this—

Then it meant my pain was his dirty pleasure. I hate them—these brothers.

I miss the rogue domain. I don't want anything to do with these brothers.

"You're such a cutie. You're not even a wolf anymore," Chase chuckled in my ear, cupping my face and forcing my eyes to meet his. I spit on his face.

He grimaced for a moment—then grinned.How nice.

"My brother rejected you, Innes. Be mine."

What was Chase saying now? The same man who just rejected me moments ago?

"I can make you a wolf again," he said. His words were like poison—sweet but deadly.

How?

How could I be a wolf again.

"Just be my contract lover, and you'll get the chance to be a wolf… and a place for your child." My breath hitched.Hearing those words—It was pure temptation.
