The Rebirth of Harry Potter

Chapter 46: Chapter 45: The Approaching Halloween Eve

Harry officially began Quidditch training.

While flying skills were undoubtedly the most important ability for any Quidditch player,

Playing Quidditch while flying was a completely different challenge.

Not to mention,

The game relied heavily on team coordination, strategy, and positioning—

All of which required joint practice to master.

To ensure minimal disruption to his studies,

Harry's training sessions were scheduled every evening at 7 PM.

Harry's First Training Day

The first evening,

Team captain Oliver Wood personally took Harry to the Quidditch pitch.

There, he explained the game's rules,

And introduced him to the three different types of balls locked inside the Quidditch chest.

For someone who had grown up with basketball, football, and table tennis,

Suddenly learning an entirely new sport felt a bit overwhelming.

After all,

In the Muggle world, sports only used one ball at a time!

The Four Balls of Quidditch

During a match, three different types of balls were used—

A total of four balls in play.

1️⃣ The Quaffle

The largest ball, roughly the size of a basketball. The objective was to score by throwing it through the opposing team's hoops. Each goal scored: 10 points.

2️⃣ The Bludgers (Two)

Slightly smaller than the Quaffle but incredibly aggressive. Their sole purpose: to attack and knock players off their brooms. Beaters used bats to redirect them toward the opposing team.

3️⃣ The Golden Snitch

The smallest ball, about the size of a walnut. Entirely golden, with delicate, fluttering wings. Catching it grants 150 points and immediately ends the game. The Seven Players on Each Team

Each team consisted of seven players, with distinct roles:

1️⃣ Keeper (1)

The goalie—protected the three hoops from incoming Quaffles.

2️⃣ Beaters (2)

Tasked with hitting Bludgers toward the opposing team.

3️⃣ Chasers (3)

Their job was to score goals using the Quaffle.

4️⃣ Seeker (1)

The most crucial position. Responsible for finding and catching the Snitch before the opposing Seeker.

Fortunately for Harry,

He was the team's sole Seeker,

So while the game's rules were a bit complicated,

His role was simple—

Find the Snitch. Catch the Snitch. Win the game.

Harry's Natural Talent in the Air

When it came to flying,

Harry's talent was undeniable.

After Wood's initial demonstration,

Harry quickly mastered every maneuver,

Reaching a new level of skill in just one session.

His agile, high-speed aerial acrobatics

Left Wood completely speechless.

This boosted Wood's confidence immensely.

And it wasn't just him—

The Whole Team is Shocked

A few days later,

When the entire Gryffindor team gathered for their first full practice match,

Harry's performance left them all in awe.

Without question,

Everyone agreed—

"With skills like these, Harry could represent England in the Quidditch World Cup!"

Some even joked that he might one day earn the title:

"The Youngest Seeker in World Cup History!"

Harry simply smiled,

Saying nothing more.

Time Passes – The First Match Draws Near

With each passing day,

Harry's Quidditch training only improved.

And now,

The first Hogwarts Quidditch match of the season

Was about to begin.

The Quidditch Tournament Format

Each school year, Hogwarts held three official Quidditch matches.

First Semester:

The four Houses competed in pairs. Two winning teams advanced to the final round.

Second Semester:

The two remaining teams played one final match. The winner became the Quidditch Champion.

This year, Gryffindor's first opponent was none other than Slytherin.

However, despite the excitement surrounding the upcoming match,

Something even more anticipated was just around the corner—

Halloween Eve! 🎃✨ The Most Exciting Celebration of the Year

Halloween was one of the most festive and lively events at Hogwarts.

The anticipation and enthusiasm among students needed no explanation—

Especially for first-years, who had never experienced such a grand feast before.

Just imagining all 700 students gathered in the Great Hall,

Celebrating together in an incredibly lively and magical atmosphere,

Made their hearts race with excitement.

They could hardly wait—

If only Halloween Eve could arrive sooner!

Evening Quidditch Training

As usual, Harry continued his Quidditch training that evening.

For a Seeker, the two most important abilities were:

✔ Sharp eyesight

✔ Lightning-fast speed

Thus, Harry's training focused entirely on these two aspects.

Wood's Special Training Method

That night, Oliver Wood brought something different—

He arrived at the Quidditch pitch carrying a black backpack.

When he unzipped it,

Harry saw that it was filled with golf balls.

Wood grinned mischievously and said:

"This is your training for today!"

Catching Golf Balls Mid-Air

After Harry took off into the sky,

Wood pulled out his wand—

And cast a spell at one of the golf balls.

With a sharp whoosh,

The tiny white ball shot into the air at high speed.

However, unlike the Snitch,

Its trajectory wasn't steep, meaning it would fall to the ground quickly.

Catching it before it touched the ground was not easy.

Or at least,

It wouldn't have been easy for Harry a few days ago.

Harry's Rapid Progress

Now?

Harry effortlessly accelerated,

His speed soaring to the limit as he dived toward the falling ball.

Just before it hit the ground,

His hand snatched it out of the air.

Harry looked up at Wood and smirked.

"Is that all?"

Wood laughed and shouted back:

"Relax, that was just the warm-up!"

Increasing the Difficulty

Wood gradually increased the challenge—

More golf balls were released at the same time. They flew in different directions, at unpredictable speeds. Their colors changed—no longer just white, but various shades blending with the environment.

This forced Harry to multitask:

✔ Track multiple moving objects at once.

✔ Prioritize which ball to catch first.

✔ Identify hidden balls that camouflaged with the sky or ground.

It tested not only his speed—

But also his awareness, reaction time, and decision-making under pressure.

The Final Challenge – Eight Balls at Once

At one point, Wood had eight golf balls soaring in the air simultaneously.

Harry had to catch them all before they hit the ground.

When he grabbed the final ball,

It was literally inches from landing,

So close that he accidentally tore up a handful of grass along with it.

Wood's Reaction

After the intense session,

Wood gave Harry a thumbs-up, grinning proudly.

"Not bad, Potter. Not bad at all."

Wood's Shock at Harry's Performance

Wood fully understood how difficult this training was.

At first, he expected Harry to be able to catch only four golf balls at most—

And that alone would have impressed him greatly.

But what he didn't expect was—

Harry exceeded all expectations and caught every single ball.

The Power of Harry's Soul

This wasn't just about talent—

It was Harry's incredibly strong soul that allowed him to maintain extreme focus for such a long period of time.

For anyone else,

This level of intense mental concentration would have been impossible.

Post-Training Fatigue

As soon as Wood called an end to practice,

Harry's mind finally relaxed—

And a sudden wave of exhaustion hit him.

His head ached,

And he had to stand on the grass for a long time before he finally recovered.

This wasn't physical fatigue—

It was pure mental exhaustion.
