The Rejected Alpha's Vengeance

Chapter 495: A Letter To The Queen

[HAWI]

One kiss was all it took for Awuor Hawi to be calm and realize that there were far more important things that needed to be worried about.

Mbali and Rukiya had taken turns to tell of what they had do back home and how it may have been the only good idea they had come up with, and by the time they were done retelling the past few days to Hawi, it was more than obvious that the people they are dealing with were a few screws too loose in their heads.

That had to be the only good explanation because none of that was making sense to them. They had endured shit that no one in their right mind would ever let themselves get thrush anyway.

"Let's go join the band," Hawi said excitedly, the sinister look on her face the only reminder that her team needed to know that this was the battle that she wouldn't leave unturned for anyone.

She was a feral in more than one way and she had proven it one too many times. Perhaps that was why it wasn't as hard for her to blend in with those who were considered misfits, right?

"Are you sure about this, Mistress?" Malika asked, unsure of whether Awuor Hawi was in the right state of mind to be out there fighting wars. She was a warrior, sure, but she had a lot of things in her mind, things that she needed to work through.

"Of course," Hawi said right before a portal opened and closed so suddenly, leaving a letter covered in blood as the only proof that there had been an open portal there in that particular moment.

"Holy shit… did you guys see that or am I tripping?" Hawi and Rukiya walked over to hear the letter was on the ground. It was written in unfamiliar handwriting, but the magic it had come with was traceable.

"A letter in these times, wow," Mbali said as Rukiya had needed the letter over to Hawi.

"Strange indeed— no. No way," Hawi said, making the trip look at her like there was more to the letter. Of course, there was more. This right here was the reminder that they were needed home as soon as possible.

"What does it say?" Malika asked and Hawi sighed.

"Come back home. Elodie is dying and we think Malika and Hawi can fix her. Hurry," Hawi read and all the blood drained from her face. She had never expected this, much less that the letter would be about the sister she had sworn to protect with everything.

"Whoever came up with the idea to release the barriers better not be alive when we get back home," Hawi growled as she angrily created a portal that was covered in fire. She was so mad that her friend could feel the what of her rage.

This wasn't how they were supposed to reunite. She had created the barrier to make sure her people were safe. She had let them have a portion of her magic to keep them safe and that was something that shouldn't have happened to Elodie.

Hawi was literally breathing fire, other than the fact that she was still covered in blood from earlier. She was out to murder a lot of people and she definitely wouldn't have any regrets.

"Get through. No questions asked," Hawi said and Malika sighed, before she and Mbali went through the portal first. They were worried about the safety of everyone back home, and they had to rush.

"No. I'm not going through unless you think this through," Rukiya said defiantly as she stared at the portal that was staring at her. She knew that going against Hawi when it came to Elodie was not the best of ideas.

This was the dumbest idea she had ever had and if Rukiya Greysin was being honest right now, she was scared shitless of what Hawi would say or do to her.

Granted, Hawi loved and swore her life to hers, but Hawi never played when it came to the only person that had kept her going all these years. She would never try to gamble with Elodie's life.

"This is not the time, Ruru. get in the fucking portal," Hawi growled and Rukiya stared at her in defiance. She was playing with fire and there was a reason that she would get burned, but what if that was what Rukiya wanted?

"Not until you calm down. Adolf said to release the barrier because he figured you would be overwhelmed by the remaining Russel. He didn't want to wear you out, and before you even think of saying that he was in on the con, he wasn't, I know it," Rukiya said.

She knew this wasn't a good idea but she also knew that if Hawi went through that portal like that, dragging and shit, her first target wouldn't even be the Russels but her dear best friend.

It was a little suspicious, how Adolf had shown up right before the war, but then they had to see this to the very end.

"Adolf, huh? Guess he finally snapped out of the damn rabbit hole. Listen here, my beautiful. I love you. I love you more than life but if I had to drag you unconscious through that portal, then I will do it, baby.

"So please for the sake of everything, fondant force me to drag you, because that will break my heart and I really don't want to be the reason you're in pain, ever," Hawi said as he looked intently at Rukiya, who was staring at her defiantly.

Rukiya knew that Hawi wouldn't leave her behind and that what she had just said could be as true as it got but fuck if she decided to make a run for it. What if she insisted and waited to see what the fuck Hawi would do? Would that be the best idea?

"Promise me you won't kill him," Rukiya said and Hawi ran a hand through her hair. She was at her wrists end with the battles that needed her attention and she didn't think that there would come a day when she had to be like this with Ruru.

"Ruru—"

"You can question him while we all catch up after we win the war. He will answer all the questions that you and I have, but he can't do that if he is dead. Please…" Rukiya insisted and Hawi just pulled her into a hug.

She hated this, but she loved Rukiya, so she could compromise. It wasn't the easiest of things for her, and she had to make up her mind because otherwise all of this would be pointless and she would have lost everything she loved and held dear.

That was too high a cost even for the immortal girl.

"Fine. I will not kill Adolf. Now please, can we go?" Hawi said, rolling her eyes at Ruru who wasn't even surprised anymore. She however knew that she could trust Hawi to keep her word so her best friend would be safe even then.

"Yes, ma'am. We can go now," Rukiya said as she kissed Hawi gently on the lips, like it was the first time they were doing this. Oh, but they were so much in love. When they pulled back, they held hands as they went through the portal home.

However, before the portal could close, Jeremiah Warner went in right after Hawi and Rukiya.
