Chapter 85: Amok Forancis
"S-stay away!"
With a thick stick in hand, Finn waved it in the direction of the grinning Rav'akari, who were circling around him and Ivy.
Finn swung the thick stick. It was as thick as a baseball bat. And it would clearly hurt if it happened to land.
However, one of the Rav'akari grabbed the thick stick, yanked it out of Finn's hands, and smacked him across his face.
With a few teeth flying out of his mouth, Finn dropped to the ground, held his bleeding mouth, and slowly climbed back to his feet.
"We've been looking for you~"
A couple of Rav'akari grabbed Ivy by both of her arms and held her in place while she sobbed like a child.
The rest of the Rav'akari grinned at her hideously, a dark look of desire in their eyes.
"W-What do you want with me?"
Ivy asked with tears flying out of her eyes, and the hands that were grabbing her arms felt icy cold against her skin.
It was as if they had no heat to them at all.
"L-Leave her be!"
Finn shouted, trying to sound brave, but his voice quivered with fear.
"Shut it."
Rav'akari lifted him up by his throat, and Finn felt his feet dangling off the ground. The grip was accidentally too tight, and the neck cracked.
Finn stopped struggling, his body going limp as the life drained from his eyes, and Rav'akari let out a nonchalant "oh" before dropping Finn's lifeless body to the ground.
"Nooooo!"
Ivy screamed as she witnessed the horrifying scene unfold before her.
"Why did you go and kill him? What a waste, tch, tch."
One of the Rav'akari clicked his tongue, as there were other uses for Finn still, even though they planned to kill him in the end.
"I squeezed too hard accidentally. I forgot that humans are so fragile, you see. Hehe."
Rav'akari said, and scratched his head sheepishly while the rest of the Rav'akari laughed at his explanation.
In that moment, footsteps sounded from the end of the hallway, and from there, a dark-eyed young man emerged.
Ivy's eyes rounded up in shock, trembling in her eyes, and she could barely believe her eyes.
"Amok…? What are you doing in here…"
"He is Sir Nefarious Humility, one of the great Ten Fingers of the Wretched One and the Throneless One."
Rav'akari said with a smirk.
She felt like the world around her was collapsing. The light left her eyes. It looked as if her soul got crushed just now.
"...Nefarious Humility? It can't be… No, there is no way…"
Ivy's lips trembled, and then she bit tightly at her pink lips, the tears flowing from her eyes without stopping.
"It's all my fault… This all is my fault?"
"Hmm…"
Nefarious stopped before the green-eyed Ivy, lifted her chin to turn her teary eyes at him, and those dark eyes, which used to look warm, were far from it.
Cold, emotionless, and void of the love that once shone through.
"You humans are simple creatures, Ivy.
"With my ability, I am able to control one's emotions and memories.
"However, those feelings of love that you had for me were all your own. All I needed was to have a pretty face, and you were all over me.
"How shallow of you, Ivy Monroe."
Nefarious said coldly.
"You… It can't be."
Ivy's eyes looked blank, and Rav'akari let go of her arms, but she still wasn't moving at all.
She wasn't standing anymore and was just slumped on the ground on top of her knees, her head hanging low.
In the hand of Nefarious, the head of the Arthur stayed quiet, but his eyes flashed with so much pain.
It was a pain of seeing Ivy to be in this position—she was a kind, and innocent girl—and she didn't deserve this.
"The Sanity Notebook… Where is it?"
Nefarious asked, and after seeing that Ivy wasn't answering as she was staring at the floor, he slapped her on the right cheek.
SMACK!
"Ah…"
Ivy's eyes shook, she touched her swollen cheek, and she turned to Nefarious with tears falling from her eyes.
"Amok… Why? Please… why?"
Nefarious looked coldly at her, put his palm on her forehead, and went through her memories to find the answer he was looking for.
"In your room… Desk, the second drawer on the right."
He took his hand back, looked silently at the crying Ivy, and then stood up before turning around to walk away.
"Wait…"
At that moment, Ivy's weak voice sounded, and Nefarious stopped to turn around at her.
"Amok Forancis… Is that your real name?"
Ivy asked, her voice trembling.
"It's a name that I was born with. But it is not the name I choose to be known by now. I am Nefarious Humility now."
He said coldly.
"Boss, what should we do with her now?"
Rav'akari asked with a thirsty gaze in his eyes. It was obvious what he wanted.
"Do whatever you want. I have no use for her anymore. Just don't make me wait, as when I get my hands on that notebook, we're leaving."
Nefarious said coldly.
"Hahahaha!"
The laughter of Rav'akari resounded across the hallway, and their eyes landed on Ivy—evil, lustful, and thirsty gazes—and she hugged herself protectively.
'Mom… Dad… Everyone…'
Ivy choked on her tears, with faces of every student in the School of Divinity and Mysticism coming back to her in her mind.
The guilt was slowly eating her alive, and as the Rav'akari's hands started undressing her, she whimpered and resigned herself to her fate.
'I deserve this…'
Click!
At that moment, a sound of a gun cocking echoed through the hallway, and the Rav'akari stopped before turning to the right.
"…"
Nefarious turned around with a squinted gaze and came across a young man standing a distance away, a black revolver in hand and a dangerous look in his eyes.
Ivy looked over, her vision hazy because of the tears, and couldn't properly see the young man, but once she wiped the tears off, she quickly recognized him.
"Kael…"
With a whisper of half-crying and half-pleading, she teared up further, and slowly, she said.
"Please… Kill me!"
"…"
Kael looked at the scene in front of him with a cold look in his eyes and saw the half-dressed Ivy and the dead Finn on the ground.
"…Finn."
With a pained whisper, Kael took a deep breath, gripped the revolver tightly, and made a quick decision.
"And who the fuck are you?"
Nefarious asked with a frown.
'Kael…'
The head of Arthur on top of Nefarious' hand thought inside his mind with a look of pain.
Kael's answer came in the form of a single gunshot—the finger pulled the trigger—and a single bullet flew out of the long barrel.
BANG!
