The Second Chance of Reincarnator

Chapter 90: News of the Tragedy

Second Volume - Perverted.

Whitesky, Dark Jewel's Corner, the bakery.

"…Sob."

Thomas kneeled on the ground, tears and snot streaming down his face as he was kneeling before Lady Vivian's burned corpse.

It was hard to tell that it was actually her, but he was able to recognize her ring on one of her charred fingers.

It was a ring that Lady Vivian's little sister gave her during her previous birthday. It was made from a strong material, so the fire didn't destroy it.

"…I should've come here when I could. I could've saved her. Instead, I just kept hiding!"

Thomas screamed with frustration and kept pounding his head against the ground below him.

The men outside glanced at him briefly before returning to cleaning up the streets of the debris and corpses.

It was Thursday evening, and yesterday, the Guild came to the Dark Jewel's Corner with the Divine Rankers and a small army of Blessed Ones.

They found no sign of Nefarious Humility.

Earlier today, more volunteers came from the closest cities of Rask and Chalicegate to help with the cleaning of the town.

In the town square, standing on top of the burned rubble, Jason looked over to the burned temple of the Gods.

The statues had burned down like candles after being used too much.

"The heretics of the Wretched One have no respect for the Gods. To burn the God's Temple is a blasphemous act against life itself!"

Jason said with a spiteful tone.

"…It looks like there were indeed survivors. Praise be to the Gods. The Guild made arrangements for evacuation and used the God's Temple to send Earthlings and Whitesky citizens alike over to Earth."

Seth came over with a spear in hand—it had a gleaming silver tip and a spiraling gold snake around the shaft.

"…How many? Any number?"

Jason asked.

"…I don't know. I just received a word from my God. None of them have returned from Earth yet, and I don't blame them. They might still think that this town is under the control of Rav'akari.

"Luckily, there weren't many Blessed One deaths except the ones from over in the School of Divinity and Mysticism and the ones that the Guild sent to investigate."

Seth said.

"The letter mentioned a student from that school, correct? Who told the Guild about Nefarious Humility?"

"Yes, Ivy Monroe, as stated in the Guild records. Everyone in the Dark Jewel's Corner branch of the Guild escaped to Earth, and we haven't got any contact with any of them yet, but we can safely assume that she also went back to Earth."

Seth said.

Jason nodded and then saw some people walking down the ruined street of the Dark Jewel's Corner, snapping pictures with an old-looking camera.

It was a camera brought from over Earth, and it wasn't one of the new models, as the gods forbade that, but they gave permission to bring one of the very old models to the world.

Thus, every picture taken by the old cameras was black and white.

"The news sure found out quick. This will bring a panic to everyone when they find out that one of the World Bosses was allowed to stride right into one of the towns, and kill everyone here.

"The Guild will find someone to blame and put their heads on the chopping block."

Jason said with a click of a tongue.

"At least we will increase the security in every city and town. A blessing in disguise, I would say. I've always said that the current security is just not enough."

Seth said, stabbed the spear easily through the cobblestone ground, and took a cigarette from the pack in his pocket, lighting it with a match.

Early morning on Friday, Gehram, the Red Dice Casino.

"Whew…"

Redici, with a cigarette between his lips, stood naked before an open window and looked over at the cloudy sky.

At that moment, a dirty-feathered bird landed on the windowsill, a satchel of newspapers on its back like a backpack, squawking loudly.

"Yeah, yeah…"

Redici slid a few coins into the satchel and took a newspaper.

"Can I get one~?"

With a thin blanket covering her, Miss Angelica sat at the back of the room in a reclining chair, her eyes drooping with exhaustion.

She and Redici stayed up all night—doing very exhausting physical activities—and neither of them slept a wink.

Redici threw his newspaper from over his shoulder and hurled it across the room, and it landed perfectly on Miss Angelica's naked lap, with her tender thighs bare for all to see.

"Thank you~"

She said with a charming smile, and while Redici bought another newspaper for him, she looked at the front page and became completely frozen.

[Tragedy over in the Dark Jewel's Corner! Nefarious Humility, one of the Ten World Bosses, has appeared!]

[Should we worry? Is the Guild not doing their job properly? How could one of the strongest Rav'akari come without any notice so deep into human territory?]

"What the hell? Dark Jewel's Corner has been reduced to rubble… Tch, the Guild is fucking useless."

Redici scoffed, his long red hair falling over his broad shoulders, the expression on his face a mixture of disgust and disdain.

"…How could this happen?"

Miss Angelica whispered with a chill running down her back, as she had clearly just dodged a massive bullet.

If she happened to stay in the Dark Jewel's Corner a week longer, she would've definitely met her demise, as she read through the newspaper about the complete annihilation of the School of Divinity and Mysticism.

'The first contact with Nefarious Humility came over in the School of Divinity and Mysticism… The Guild refused to share the information about why he came there, but from what we know, everyone that was there was killed…'

Miss Angelica read through the page, and then, there was a black and white photograph of a headless corpse on the page.

It was Arthur's body, and Miss Angelica's eyes shook at the realization.

'Arthur…'

While she lied and only used Arthur to get close to the students of the school—more precisely, close to Jeff Quinn—she did feel a little bit of sadness over Arthur's death.

'The students also all died, hmm. Since he died so soon either way, I guess it was fine that I took Jeff's life force.

'I've been feeling bad since he is young and all that, but now, it really doesn't matter that I did that.'

Miss Angelica sighed, closed the newspaper, and enjoyed the tasty red wine found on the bedside table.

SMACK!

At that moment, a hard hand smacked her ass cheek, and Miss Angelica turned around with a flirtatious smile.

"Still having more in you?"

"I am far from done."

Redici said with a smirk, his well-toned hard muscles pressing against her back, and he then bent her over before taking her right there on the bedside table.

"Ahh~ Ahh~"

The red wine spilled down the bedside table, staining the pages of the newspaper and making it all soggy and wet.
