The Second Girls journey in Naruto

Chapter 29: Chapter 28: The Land of Whirlpools

The Land of Waves.

The weather was clear, and the sun shone brightly over the small island nation by the sea.

Chihiro and the others were just passing through, but that didn't stop them from taking a break and enjoying the surroundings.

As they walked, Tsuchiya Tsukigami suddenly caught up to Chihiro, keeping his voice low.

"Sensei, you and I have always disliked Tokumoto Kyotoshi. Why is that? He acts like a kind merchant, but something feels off… Am I just imagining things?"

Chihiro smiled.

"If you've started to notice, then I'll give you just one clue."

Tsuchiya leaned in, listening carefully.

Chihiro's expression was calm and serious.

"It was too much of a coincidence that I happened to be in Sakura Town when the bandits attacked back then. Unbelievably convenient. And then, Tokumoto just happened to hire a Konoha ninja, supposedly to save the town?"

Chihiro sneered.

"What are the odds?"

Tsuchiya's pupils shrank.

"Tokumoto Kyotoshi..."

"He's the real monster."

Tsuchiya turned to look at Tokumoto Kyotoshi, who was smiling gently as he spoke with Ochiai.

But beneath that warm, kind exterior, something sinister lurked.

A demon in disguise.

A bloodthirsty devil.

"Did you notice it too?"

A voice suddenly cut in, startling Tsuchiya out of his thoughts.

He turned to find Sakiya standing next to him, her gaze locked onto Tokumoto Kyotoshi with burning intensity.

"What do you mean?" Tsuchiya asked cautiously.

Sakiya's eyes gleamed.

"That evil soul."

Tsuchiya stiffened.

(She can actually see souls?!)

"As expected of a fellow member of the Death Pact," Sakiya declared proudly.

Tsuchiya's face twitched.

"Can I… quit?"

Sakiya turned to him with a serious expression.

"Of course!"

Tsuchiya's eyes lit up.

(That's it! I'll just quit! Why didn't I think of this sooner?)

Sakiya reached into her pocket and tossed him a kunai.

He caught it instinctively, looking at her in confusion.

"Uh… what's this for?"

Sakiya's expression remained dead serious.

"The condition for leaving the Death Pact is self-termination."

Tsuchiya nearly dropped the kunai.

His grip tightened as he looked at Sakiya's completely sincere expression.

"...Do you need my help?" she offered.

Tsuchiya's face twitched violently.

Considering how unpredictable and absurd Sakiya could be, she might actually follow through with that offer.

Without a word, he slipped the kunai back into his pouch and forced a calm smile.

"No need. I never wanted to leave, my lord of death."

Sakiya grinned and nodded approvingly.

"Good, good. A true dimensional traveler must be devoted."

Tsuchiya sighed in defeat.

"Yes, my lord of death. I will work hard to maintain dimensional peace."

Sakiya beamed.

"Excellent! If you prove yourself, I'll promote you to a full member soon!"

Tsuchiya forced a smile and slowly turned back to rejoin the group.

As he reached Sakuragi, the older ninja gave him a suspicious look.

"What were you talking about with her?"

Tsuchiya stared blankly ahead.

"...The burden of maintaining dimensional peace now falls on you."

Sakuragi blinked in confusion.

He watched Tsuchiya walk away, completely dazed.

"...Did he go crazy again?" he muttered.

"Hey! Why 'again'?!"

----

As they entered the small, poverty-stricken nation, Chihiro's sharp eyes caught something unusual.

Two hidden scouts.

They were no ordinary spies—wandering ninjas.

The moment they saw Chihiro's group, they quickly slipped away toward the village interior.

Chihiro's voice rang out, cold and firm.

"Stay alert! It's an ambush!"

Tsuchiya and Sakuragi reacted instantly, drawing their kunai and positioning themselves in front of Tokumoto Kyotoshi, ready to fight.

Sakiya took up a defensive stance, ready to face whatever enemy lurked ahead.

But…

Nothing happened.

Chihiro frowned, scanning their surroundings.

Tsuchiya Tsukigami shifted uneasily.

"What now, Sensei? Do we keep going?"

Chihiro exhaled, deep in thought.

"Hmm… We'll hunt down whatever is hiding in the shadows!"

Sakiya's eyes lit up with excitement.

"Hold it!" Chihiro snapped. "No reckless moves. Stay put—I'll scout ahead."

With that, Chihiro and a few other ninjas disappeared into the trees, leaving the rest behind.

Sakiya watched her go, eager to follow, but hesitated. She glanced at Tsuchiya and Sakuragi, then sighed and settled down.

(If this is really the same place as the story I know, we'll probably run into Zabuza soon…)

She vividly remembered this part of the original events.

(The famous Land of Waves arc… the protagonist team's first C-rank mission.)

(I might not be able to meet the main group directly, but I can still use their experience to my advantage.)

(This is a good opportunity.)

Sakiya smirked to herself, deep in thought.

A short while later, Chihiro returned, her face unreadable.

"It's safe for now," she said. "And… we ran into someone familiar. Let's go inside first."

Sakiya's heart skipped a beat.

(No way… Are we really going to meet the main cast?)

(This is perfect!)

Following Chihiro, they made their way to a small house—Tazuna's home.

The moment they stepped inside, a familiar shock of yellow hair came into view.

"Sakiya-chan!"

Naruto's eyes widened in surprise.

"I didn't expect to see you here!"

Sasuke, as usual, remained silent with his usual indifferent expression.

Sakura, however, smiled warmly at Sakiya's team.

"It's been a while, Sakiya-chan!"

(She's probably relieved to see backup. Dealing with Zabuza won't be easy…)

Sakiya greeted Sakura casually but, as always, ignored Naruto. She sat down in a corner and began carving patterns into a kunai.

Sakuragi and Tsuchiya, unfamiliar with Team 7, simply nodded in greeting before taking seats of their own.

Chihiro watched the interaction with mild amusement. She hadn't expected these kids to already know each other.

Then—

Thump!

A figure suddenly jumped in through the window.

A silver-haired man with tired, droopy eyes.

"Oh~ looks like everyone's here," Kakashi Hatake said lazily.

"Kakashi-senpai," Chihiro greeted.

It was no surprise she knew him—Kakashi's reputation was well-known.

Kakashi gave her a nod before cutting straight to the point.

"Let's go over the situation."

He briefed them on Zabuza, Haku, and Gato, the man behind the troubles in the Land of Waves.

At the mention of Gato's name, Chihiro and her team exchanged glances.

(What a coincidence…)

Kakashi continued, "The real threats are Zabuza and the Ice Release user. The other wandering ninjas? We'll leave those to you."

Tsuchiya, Sakuragi, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura all responded in unison.

"Understood!"

The battle unfolded differently from the original events.

This time, Kakashi completely dominated Zabuza in a one-sided fight, forcing Haku to intervene much earlier.

The final outcome, however, remained unchanged.

Kakashi had long since shattered his reputation as a 'fifty-fifty' fighter.

---------------------------------------

Meanwhile, in a dimly lit house…

A young man knelt beside Gato, looking troubled.

Gato's face twisted with anger.

"You idiot! How did those ninjas get here?!"

The young man flinched.

"Lord Gato! I swear, I didn't lead them here!"

He had only asked for reinforcements.

He hadn't expected the enemy to march straight into their base.

And to make things worse—their hideout was now on fire.

Gato's expression darkened.

"Go. Bring me Zabuza."

One of his subordinates hesitated.

"Sir… Zabuza is still recovering."

Gato scowled.

"Useless. I'll deal with this myself. Lead the way!"
