The Second Girls journey in Naruto

Chapter 37:  Chapter 36: I'm coming

Upon returning to the village, everyone felt a wave of relief and happiness.

"Ahh, it feels good to be home~" Tsuchiya Tsukigami sighed, taking in the familiar bustling streets of Konoha.

Naruto, walking casually with his hands behind his head, grinned. "Yeah, nothing beats the feeling of being back in the village!"

Just as they were enjoying the moment, Sakiya suddenly leaped in front of them, her eyes scanning the surroundings with satisfaction.

"This is my sacred domain! The infinite-dimensional strategic base of the Death Covenant! The void energy here is incredibly abundant!"

Her sudden declaration, spoken in that signature dramatic tone, didn't even faze the group anymore—they had long grown accustomed to her eccentricities.

But just when they thought that was the end of it...

Sakiya suddenly planted herself in the middle of the bustling Konoha street, hands on her hips, and dramatically shouted toward the sky:

"The Eye of Death—Sakiya—has returned!"

The sudden outburst startled the nearby villagers, causing many passersby to stop and stare.

Immediately, the rest of the team stepped several meters away from Sakiya, pretending they didn't know her.

Everyone except Naruto.

"That was SO cool!" he yelled, grinning.

"The legendary Naruto has returned too!"

Kakashi and the others sighed helplessly, watching the two make a scene.

"Let's just go submit the mission report and get this over with..." Kakashi muttered.

After the little commotion, Sakiya calmed down—at least for a while.

But something unusual was happening behind the group.

Tsuchiya Tsukigami subtly exchanged glances with Sakuragi.

Sakuragi adjusted his glasses, giving a slight nod.

The two silently slowed their pace, falling behind the rest of the team.

"Hey, did you hear that?" Tsuchiya whispered.

Sakuragi pushed his glasses up, his expression serious.

"I did. The base of the Death Covenant... and..."

The two looked at each other excitedly and spoke in unison.

"Energy-rich!"

A thrilling realization struck them.

"But how do we actually access that energy?" Tsuchiya wondered.

"It must be tied to our real names. If we call ourselves back like Sakiya did, maybe we can unlock it!"

Their determination flared.

They made their way to the exact spot where Sakiya had made her grand proclamation.

Looking at the lively crowd around them, they suddenly hesitated.

Their faces turned slightly red.

Tsuchiya gulped. "Sakuragi... Are we really going to do this?"

Sakuragi clenched his fists.

"Stay strong. If this gives us power, then who cares about a little embarrassment?"

Sakuragi's eyes burned with determination.

Seeing this, Tsuchiya refused to back down.

"That's right! Let's do this, Sakuragi!"

The two took deep breaths and, with all their might, shouted toward the heavens:

"The Dimensional Great Traveler—Tsuchiya Tsukigami—has returned!"

"The Demon of the End—Sakuragi—has returned!"

Their combined roar echoed across the street, startling every passerby within a hundred-meter radius.

People stopped in their tracks, staring in confusion.

"Huh? What was that?!"

"Who are these two weirdos?"

"Are they summoning something? Should we run?"

Faced with the sea of questioning and bewildered eyes, Sakuragi and Tsuchiya instantly broke character. Their faces turned bright red as they bolted from the scene.

"Ahhhhh! Sakuragi, I think I'm dying of embarrassment!" Tsuchiya wailed.

"Hold it together!" Sakuragi barked as they dashed away.

Neither of them noticed the silent figure watching from above.

Perched on a nearby rooftop, Sasuke Uchiha observed the two with a thoughtful expression.

He had been following them out of curiosity after noticing that Sakiya's teammates had slipped away from the group.

But he hadn't expected... this.

Sasuke leapt down, landing exactly where Sakuragi and Tsuchiya had made their dramatic declaration.

A long pause.

Then, hesitantly, in a low voice, he murmured:

"I... Uchiha Sasuke..."

Something felt off.

He clenched his fists and, this time, spoke louder:

"I—The Dark Knight—Sasuke Uchiha—have returned!"

The words echoed slightly in the air.

Sasuke's face burned red.

He immediately glanced around to see if anyone had noticed.

Nothing.

No changes. No mysterious power. No reactions.

He frowned.

"Was it not loud enough...?"

His gaze shifted to the bustling street, imagining himself shouting the way Sakiya had.

A fresh wave of embarrassment crashed over him.

"Nope. Absolutely not."

With his pride on the line, Sasuke quickly abandoned the idea and walked away, pretending it never happened.

Inside the Hokage Building, Kakashi, Chihiro, and the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, discussed the mission details and intelligence gathered.

Meanwhile, Sakiya, Naruto, and Sakura stood nearby, looking utterly bored as they waited.

Suddenly, the door swung open.

Tsuchiya Tsukigami and Sakuragi entered with sheepish smiles.

"Sorry, we're late!"

Chihiro's expression darkened.

"Where did you two run off to?" she demanded.

Tsuchiya scratched his head, laughing awkwardly.

"Uh... well, we just... um—"

"WC," Sakuragi muttered under his breath.

Tsuchiya's eyes widened in realization.

"Right! The toilet! We went to the bathroom!"

Chihiro sighed, clearly not buying it.

"Next time, don't wander off. You need to be present when we report missions."

"Yes, yes, got it!" the two replied hurriedly.

Just then, the door opened again.

Sasuke walked in, his usual cold expression in place.

Naruto immediately called him out.

"Sasuke! Where have you been? We've been waiting for you!"

Without hesitation, Sasuke replied flatly, "Bathroom."

Silence.

Everyone exchanged odd glances.

Hiruzen coughed twice, bringing the attention back to the matter at hand.

With a kind smile, he said, "You all did an excellent job on this mission. I have reclassified it as an S-rank mission. However, I'm afraid I can't increase your reward by much."

"S-RANK?!" Tsuchiya and Naruto exclaimed at the same time.

"We actually completed an S-rank mission?!"

Naruto puffed out his chest, grinning ear to ear. "Heh! Of course! That's just proof that I'm destined to be Hokage!"

Sakura sighed, shaking her head. "Idiot."

Hiruzen gestured to a large scroll on his desk.

"Since everyone is here, please sign your names on the mission log, and you'll be free to go."

Without hesitation, Sakiya and the others stepped forward, eager to finish the process and leave.

With that, Sakiya and her team's ninja records would officially include their great achievement—completing an S-rank mission.

The only small issue? Sakiya couldn't resist doodling a magic circle next to her name when signing the mission log.

Everything else went smoothly…

Finally, as they were leaving, Naruto cheerfully called out, "See ya, Old Man Hokage!"

With that, the group bid farewell to the Third Hokage and exited the office.

Meanwhile, Inside the Hokage's Office…

As Kakashi and Chihiro remained behind, the Third Hokage took a deep puff of his pipe and asked casually,

"Was the enemy really that strong?"

Kakashi nodded.

"Their techniques were bizarre… and that man seemed to possess some form of immortality. If I had fought him alone, my chances of winning would've been slim."

Hiruzen was silent for a moment before chuckling.

"It seems you all hold that girl in high regard?"

Chihiro folded her arms, nodding slightly.

"For someone her age to take down such an enemy, it's impressive…" she admitted, but then hesitated.

After a brief pause, she sighed. "It's just… her personality is a bit… off."

The Third Hokage let out a hearty laugh.

"Speaking of which… Kakashi, I originally considered placing her on your team. But given her personality, I wasn't sure if it would be the best fit."

At those words, Kakashi instantly felt a chill run down his spine. He subconsciously wiped away non-existent sweat from his forehead.

"Good call, Lord Third…" Kakashi muttered, feeling relieved.

"If she had joined my team…"

He pictured Naruto, a hyperactive troublemaker…

Sasuke, a brooding avenger…

Sakura, the only semi-normal one…

And then Sakiya, who lived in her own fantasy world.

That would be utter chaos.

"That would've been a disaster…" he mumbled to himself.

Both Hiruzen and Chihiro burst into laughter, entertained by Kakashi's horrified expression.

Back to Business…

After the laughter died down, the Third Hokage cleared his throat and returned to the matter at hand.

"By the way, the Chunin Exams are coming up soon. You're aware, right?"
