Chapter 40: Chapter 39: Develop ninjutsu ultimate!
---
The Chunin Exams were fast approaching, and everyone was busy with intense training.
Meanwhile, Sakiya was wandering the streets aimlessly.
"Ugh… so boring," she sighed, stretching her arms.
"Everyone's working so hard… Maybe I should train too."
With that thought, her eyes sparkled with interest. There was a technique she had been meaning to test out.
Excited, Sakiya broke into a light jog toward a secluded training area.
At the same time, Sasuke was also heading to his usual training ground. As he turned a corner, he spotted Sakiya.
On instinct, he hid.
His curiosity got the better of him as he quietly trailed behind her, watching as she dashed excitedly into the dense Konoha forest.
Sasuke narrowed his eyes. "Let's see what kind of training she's doing."
Sakiya grinned to herself as she reached her hidden spot.
"Ah, looks like I have an audience."
She glanced briefly in Sasuke's direction before stretching her arms.
Then, without hesitation, she began doing middle school radio gymnastics.
"One, two, three, four… Two, two, three, four…"
Unbeknownst to her (or perhaps completely knowingly), several unseen spectators were watching.
One was from the Root faction.
Another was from the Anbu.
A certain Uchiha boy.
And, of course, an old man peering through his telescope.
At this moment, despite being from completely different backgrounds, they all had the exact same thought:
"What… is this?"
To them, the movements were too simple, too relaxed—barely qualifying as exercise, let alone training.
After all, compared to the brutal physical regimens of elite shinobi like Guy, this routine was practically… nothing.
Yet, Sasuke thought otherwise.
His eyes widened in surprise.
"She's targeting every muscle group… Is this her secret to getting stronger?"
Unlike Sasuke, the Anbu and Root agents were struggling.
They desperately tried to maintain their professionalism, but it was difficult not to cringe at the sheer absurdity of the situation.
Even the Third Hokage fell silent, staring through his telescope in disbelief.
Was it possible that Kakashi and the others had lied?
Had they actually beaten the real boss and given her the credit?
Five minutes later, Sakiya twisted her waist to complete the routine.
She smirked knowingly.
"Wow, they actually watched the whole thing."
Shrugging, she cracked her knuckles.
"Alright then… time to start drawing some magic circles."
This was a fundamental skill, so mastering it was essential.
Sakiya pulled out a small packet of special powder from her pocket and began drawing rapidly around her.
The previously relaxed onlookers immediately snapped to attention.
"Something's happening!"
All eyes widened, focusing on the intricate patterns Sakiya was creating.
Gradually, a complex formation less than five meters in radius took shape, filled with countless strange runes—some of which even Sakiya herself didn't fully understand.
The sheer speed and precision of her movements stunned the audience.
The Root and Anbu agents exchanged whispers.
"This must be an incredibly powerful technique!"
"To set up something this intricate so quickly… it's not normal."
Even Sasuke, still hidden, stared intently at the formation.
As always, he couldn't understand the meaning behind those bizarre symbols.
But deep inside, he felt certain—this had to be one of Sakiya's secrets to strength.
After all, why would she keep doing this?
The formations she drew always followed a pattern. The symbols resembled some kind of lost script, possibly from an obscure school of thought.
"Every one of them must have a deeper meaning," Sasuke thought, his heart pounding.
His Sharingan spun to life—two tomoe swirling in each eye.
He burned the image of the formation into his mind, committing every line to memory.
"I've copied it… Once I analyze this pattern, I'll uncover its true purpose!"
Meanwhile, Sakiya dusted off her hands, stretching her back with a satisfied sigh.
She wiped away nonexistent sweat from her brow, admiring her work.
Finally, with a dramatic clap of her hands, she prepared to activate it.
Ziiing—
A purple flame ignited along the lines of the magic circle, burning in a mesmerizing pattern.
The onlookers were stunned by the spectacular effect.
Then—
Sakiya shouted boldly:
"I summon... the Infinite Supreme Death God's Sword of Destruction!"
Boom—
A thick cloud of smoke billowed from the center of the formation.
The crowd held their breath, eager to see what kind of legendary weapon would emerge from such an ominous name.
As the smoke cleared…
A plain-looking double-edged sword, still sheathed, stood upright in the middle of the magic circle.
Silence.
The sword seemed completely ordinary—nothing about it radiated divine power.
But no one dared to doubt it just yet.
"Maybe it's just concealed power. Once drawn, it could shake the heavens!"
Sakiya gripped the hilt confidently and drew the sword in a smooth motion.
It was… long. Almost as tall as she was.
She gave it a few experimental swings, nodding in satisfaction, then began her sword practice.
The spectators watched in confusion.
The sword remained completely normal. No glow, no aura, no earth-shattering force.
And Sakiya's swordsmanship…
Well.
It was painful to watch.
"Hah! Behold my ultimate technique—'Dimensional Severance Slash'!"
Everyone snapped to attention.
Then…
Sakiya started spinning like a windmill, wildly swinging the sword in circles.
She spun.
And spun.
And spun… until she lost her balance.
With a loud thud, the blade lodged itself into a tree, stopping her mid-spin.
Dizzy and swaying, Sakiya gripped the sword for support, panting.
"Whew~ That move is too powerful. I still can't fully control it~"
. . .
The onlookers fell into awkward silence.
The Anbu and Root agents exchanged bewildered glances.
After a long pause—
"Are we... still observing?"
"Forget it. Let's go."
Without another word, they vanished into the shadows, leaving behind only a lingering question—
"Do you think Lord Third (or Danzo-sama) actually understands what's happening...?"
---
The Anbu and Root operatives had already noticed each other's presence.
And, of course, Sasuke's attempt at hiding had been discovered long ago.
But, in an unspoken agreement, neither group bothered him.
Instead, both sides stepped out at the same time and exchanged glances.
"Oh. You guys are monitoring this kid too?"
"Looks like it. What a coincidence."
A brief silence.
"By the way... does anyone know why Lord Third ordered us to observe this girl?"
"I was about to ask the same thing. Any idea what Danzo-sama is thinking?"
"No clue. Maybe we're all idiots."
"Seems like it."
"Sigh… We really are."
In the Hokage's office, the Third Hokage rubbed his temples as he listened in through the Anbu's communications.
His face darkened.
"These guys… slacking off in the middle of a mission? Salary deductions, all of you!"
To be fair, he himself was beginning to think that watching Kihana Sakiya was a complete waste of resources.
But still! At least pretend to be professional!
That being said…
The Third Hokage found himself questioning his own choices.
"Why am I wasting my time observing this girl train? These hours are usually reserved for protecting the women's bathhouse from actual peeping perverts! How did it come to this?"
With that self-pitying thought, the Hokage decided to redirect his surveillance efforts to a more "meaningful" cause.
Thus, out of four different surveillance teams, three withdrew.
Only Sasuke remained.
And even he was feeling a little let down.
"Maybe I should just go train on my own…"
Meanwhile, Sakiya, having noticed that most of her "audience" had left, smirked slightly.
"Well, since you're the only one left…" she said, glancing at Sasuke.
"Might as well test out that jutsu I've been dying to try."
She formed a hand seal.
Chakra surged through her body.
Her gaze locked onto the empty space ahead—100 meters of untouched air, now infused with an eroding layer of chakra.
And then—
Sakiya's lips curled into a wild, almost manic smile.
Just as Sasuke was about to leave, a sudden shout made him turn his head instinctively.
"Collapse! World-Shattering Death Burst!"
Kihana Sakiya thrust her hand forward, grasping at the air.
Instantly, the chakra-infused erosion in the atmosphere began to self-ionize.
A rapid spike in temperature stripped the oxygen and other elements from the air, breaking them apart.
The effect was almost instantaneous.
When a large volume of matter suddenly disappears, what happens?
A vacuum forms.
And when that void appears, the planet's atmosphere races in to fill it.
A blinding white flash erupted as the surrounding air rushed inward at an alarming speed.
Within moments, all the dirt, sand, rocks, grass, and trees within a 100-meter radius were sucked into a swirling mass.
The compressed material hovered in the air, spinning violently—
And then—
It shrunk.
The swirling debris collapsed into itself, compressing further and further—
Until all the matter in that area, an entire 100 meters of landscape, was crushed into a dense, five-meter-wide sphere.
And then it compressed again—
Down to just a single meter.
Hoo—
The vacuum finally equalized, and with that, the floating sphere lost its support—
And fell.
BOOM!
The impact tore open another crater, right where the first one had formed.
Thick clouds of dust and smoke billowed into the air.
Through the haze, Sasuke could make out Sakiya, still holding her grasping stance, fingers curled in the air.
Behind her, the massive hole she had just created yawned ominously.
For a long moment, Sasuke just stared, completely stunned.
"This… this technique… What kind of power is this?!"
