The SSS Legendary Dragon Chose Me On Rebirth

Chapter 115: suppressing monsters

"My lord, I don't think you should do this..." Captain Mera began.

But the Commander reacted immediately. He snorted loudly. "Ah! Are you that type of man who is tied to women? You humans are so tainted that you even allow women to lead you in battles while you hide behind them!"

Captain Mera stiffened, and her eyes flashed with a dangerous light. She opened her mouth, but Vacuse put a gentle hand on her. He smiled. "What you said is simply the truth. I remember when one of our Vorrakyn women, who was the Dragon Lord, led cowering men into this same wilderness."

Vacuse frowned slightly as if he was trying to remember something. "I can't remember her name. Come to think of it, a lot of our Dragon Lords, men or women, always seem to do it. Must be a bad habit of ours."

The Commander was stunned, and he wasn't the only one. All the Orcs looked at Vacuse with shock until their expressions twisted and killing intent surged from them.

Even Ragna's smile had turned strained.

Just then, Vacuse laughed loudly. "Ah! You really can make jokes! Hiding behind women! Ahahahahaha!"

Kagerou was the first to start laughing. He laughed cheerfully and slapped himself on the thigh, his head thrown back to show his mirth in full display.

Then Lyra gave a light chuckle. Harkon looked at the two with a wooden expression, and his face became more grim.

But by then, more and more people began to laugh. The whole diplomatic group was thus laughing loudly—so much so that all the Orcs bristled with irritation.

Vacuse wiped his eyes as if he was crying from too much laughter, and then he beamed at the Commander. "You really know how to make a good joke, Commander!"

The Commander's hand twitched toward his axe, but Ragna's voice interrupted him before he could do anything. "Ah! Indeed. Why don't you tame the beast now so we can go see the First General!"

The Orcs still rippled with killing intent that seemed like a red haze around them, and it looked as if they would leap into action, killing the diplomatic group with just a single word.

But the Dragon Guards were no less impressive, as each one radiated with an impressive aura—especially Captain Mera, who let go fully, making light winds howl around her.

It was under these circumstances that Vacuse walked toward the hyena monster. It diffused the situation as they all turned to look at him approaching the monster.

The hyena shifted toward him, cold eyes locked on him.

Vacuse walked forward gently.

The Commander's voice rang out. "Also, you can't use your techniques on it. Only dominance!"

Vacuse nodded and quickened his steps. Soon he was standing within striking distance of the monster. The hyena seemed in an almost dormant state as it stared at him.

Just then, the Commander's hand twitched, and the red threads that were drilling into the monster's head twitched.

Instantly, a great pressure flowed out of the monster, so strong that it made the air ripple, and some of the lower-ranked nearby grunted as they swayed.

But Vacuse just stood there casually.

He didn't feel an inch of pressure from the monster. "Eh... maybe you should try harder?"

The Orcs were completely baffled, but Ragna and the Orcs that were with him grimaced. They knew what Vacuse was capable of.

Vacuse's eyes turned cold as he stared at the hyena, his hand stretched forward as if he meant to pet it, but the monster growled, snapping the air and taking threatening steps forward.

It was then that Vacuse's aura exploded out—a combination of dominance and bloodlust that rippled out like a shockwave, rising from his body like translucent smoke.

The Orcs, when they rode their hyenas and bore down on the diplomatic group, had been impressive, and their bloodlust was like that of an army forged through countless battles.

But when they felt Vacuse's bloodlust, they trembled.

It was pure intent to cause harm—to kill—and the very will to carry it out. And then they felt the aura of something old and cruel in it that made the hair on their bodies stand.

The hyena monster didn't have a chance, as it immediately crouched and began to shake so hard its bones made clacking noises. The red thread that drilled into its head snapped.

All the hyenas that the others were riding did the same.

They shook, stiffened, and slowly started backing away.

One of the Orc warriors got irritated and slapped his hyena roughly in the head to stop it from moving, but the monster snapped back, tearing a chunk out of his head.

Vacuse looked at the monster cowering in front of him and turned off his killing intent. He walked toward the monster and easily swung atop it.

"Wow! I see why you like riding this thing! The view here isn't bad!"

And thus, Vacuse and Ragna rode into the fortress with the warriors surrounding them. They had been planning to humiliate Vacuse and then make him walk into the fortress on foot, but that plan had seriously backfired.

As Vacuse began to move forward, all the warrior hyenas began to follow behind as if the Alpha was leading the pack.

It caused the Commander to become so flustered that he began beating some of the monsters into submission, which completely ruined the image they had worked so hard to create.

Meanwhile, Vacuse rode completely at ease as he strode into the fortress.

The Orcs were on a roll, as it seemed they really wanted to show their strength.

Inside the fortress, rows of warriors stood in gleaming armor atop their hyenas, all of them facing the direction of the tallest and biggest building in the middle.

At the front of the building, a platform had been set up, and two throne-like chairs were there—one of them occupied by a massive Orc, half-clothed but with a terrifying aura that made his features hard to see or look at.
