The SSS Legendary Dragon Chose Me On Rebirth

Chapter 129: Ancestral constructs

Ragna's face was calm, he didn't look as scared as Vacuse expected him to be. He even smiled gently. "Are you going to deny your son, who you intentionally made and created so many memories with?"

The High Chief looked at his son, his face a mask of different emotions. "You... were my son until you poisoned me!"

Although the High Chief looked old, his posture was regal, and when he spoke, his voice thundered through the room and made everyone flinch.

Especially when they heard what he said.

'... poison the High Chief?...'

Ragna's face tightened. "And what do you plan to do to me? You want to kill me! Accuse me of treason and then introduce Valka as your legitimate son!

"You gave me everything! You gave me power! You made me the heir of the most powerful Orc Clan, and then you decided to take it all from me?

"You lifted me up and now you want to bring me down, all on your whims? I am to be the greatest Orc! I have plans to make Warbine great and now you're going to ruin it?"

His voice carried so much passion that everyone felt different types of emotions. Even Vacuse felt a flicker of pity, but he didn't really care. Ragna should leave him out of his business and not make it his own.

Vacuse's eyes turned colder and he raised his hands, breaking the silence. "It's so heartwarming and all, but can someone break this chain on me?"

All attention turned to Vacuse. The High Chief looked at him, his eyes like a bloodied blade. "So this is the human, eh? The new Dragon."

Then he waved his hand and all the chains that were binding them fell to the ground, clanking loudly.

Energy rippled around them as their powers began to flow once more.

Vacuse breathed a sigh of relief, and Rith glared from the soul space. Spreading his wings, he appeared around his shoulder.

Captain Mera and Harkon flared their power as they covered Vacuse.

Lyra's face turned pale and she began to breathe fast. All the other Soulbearer traitors moved closer to her, their faces showing their fear.

But Vacuse ignored her as he looked at Ragna. The way the former heir was so calm meant he must have something else planned, and he really didn't like the sound of that.

"We will let them fight it out. If anything goes wrong, we flee this place immediately," Vacuse instructed.

He had no intention of fighting a battle that wasn't his own. His part of the plan was done, and now he could only wait for the other deal he had with the High Chief.

"Thank you, Kagerou. You have done well."

The air rippled around him and Kagerou appeared. He was covered in blood that wasn't his own. His red eyes were lit with excitement. "I've done as you instructed! Don't mind the blood, it seems someone wanted to kill the sick High Chief before I got there and blame it on you!"

With the attention still on the humans, everyone heard what he said, and the Orcs' faces turned darker.

Vacuse frowned. Ragna or the First General? He really couldn't say. '... I take back my words... the Orcs are just as shitty as we humans...'

The High Chief turned to his former son. "Ragna. You even sent an assassin to kill me after you struck me down with sickness! Even if I am not your true father, don't you have loyalty to the Warbine?"

For the first time, Ragna smiled. It was a bitter smile. "For a while all I had was immense loyalty to the Warbine. But imagine my shock when I tried to use the Sword of the Unifier in secret and it rejected my blood!

"I am nothing but a placeholder! But then I made the decision in my heart to devour the Warbine from the inside out! I will use you as you used me, as a stepping stone!"

The High Chief stiffened and then he snorted. "Enough! First General, I charge you to kill this illegitimate trash and from today onward, protect my true son!"

Immediately the First General bowed to the High Chief, turned to Valka, and bowed just as deeply. Then he faced Ragna and raised his great sword. His voice was grave. "Your orders shall be carried out, High Chief!"

He began to walk towards Ragna, his face expressionless but his steps cautious. Powerful pressure rolled off him, but looking at it was strange.

Vacuse narrowed his eyes. Ragna was known as a weak force user and the First General was powerful. Why? What did he know about Ragna that made him so cautious?

Ragna raised his hand and all the rings on his fingers glowed. He pointed forward and a streak of light jumped out of the rings, turning into three figures of hulking Orcs.

Massive bellows of pressure weighed down on the surroundings, falling like a crushing weight and making most people stagger back. Immediately Vacuse and everyone else took several steps back almost instinctively. Even the First General paused.

Vacuse felt an instant of danger as he stared at the Orcs.

They were shaped like Orcs, but they weren't Orcs. They were made of red stone.

"Constructs!" Vacuse shouted in surprise.

And not just any constructs. They were the ancestral constructs of the Warbines, the same types that accompanied the Unifier! They were War Constructs!

And these ones weren't just any type. They were strong. The weakest there was as strong as Captain Mera, and the strongest was the same as the First General!

The constructs raised their heads and howled. Vivid red light flashed around them, and the ground cracked and broke, shattering and sending splinters flying.

Their presence caused rolling waves to crash into the humans and the Orcs, slamming into them like a brutal warhammer. Almost everyone was sent falling to their knees.

The High Chief was one of those that remained standing. His face was even more grave, his eyes darker. "Ragna. How did you get access to the ancestral constructs of the family?"
