The True Fourth Primogenitor in the Multiverse

Chapter 58: Among the Undead

After killing a few zombies near the bus, the passengers welcomed a new group of people before setting off to leave Fujimi Academy.

"I wonder if this guy is blind or just doesn't care, letting a murderer ride with them," Kojou thought, staring at Komuro Takashi, who had allowed the man named Shido-sensei to board the bus even after seeing him kick a student and leave him to be killed by zombies.

It wasn't just Takashi. Everyone—except for the beautiful blonde woman—had seen what Shido-sensei did, but they ignored it and didn't bring it up.

Although Kojou didn't really care about that student's life, he had to admit that seeing a teacher kill his own student like that didn't sit right with him. Still, he decided to ignore it, since he had more important things to worry about.

To Kojou, Saeko was a million times more important than a pathetic man like Shido. It was clear that Saeko was just a human slightly stronger than others, yet her body radiated a familiar presence—Lucifer's.

Even though Kojou didn't have all of his memories as Lucifer, he retained many fragments of his past life, which left him confused by the sight of a mere human radiating his presence to that degree—something utterly impossible under normal circumstances.

Still, Kojou didn't say a word or even approach Saeko, since he wasn't in the right state to talk to her.

So, without hesitation, Kojou closed his eyes and focused on shutting off Authority: Goat completely. Ever since arriving in this world, he had been hearing the voices of the dead who had turned into zombies, and it was so annoying that Kojou felt he would lose control if he kept listening to them for too long.

Authority: Goat didn't just allow him to control thunder and lightning—it also allowed him to communicate with the spirits of the dead. That's why Kojou had been irritated since arriving in this world. With thousands of deaths just in Fujimi Academy due to the zombies, he wanted to shut off the part of Authority: Goat that let him hear the dead as soon as possible—especially since it would only get worse once they reached the city, which likely contained millions of the dead.

Luckily, Kojou possessed the Seal of the Twelve Star, which allowed him to seal his own powers. He only needed to study Authority: Goat briefly to identify the part responsible for hearing the dead and seal it.

It took Kojou only a few minutes before he successfully sealed the part of Authority: Goat that allowed him to hear the voices of the dead, which brought him a deep sense of calm now that the endless screaming and hatred were silenced.

"Sigh~" Kojou couldn't help but let out a relieved sigh as he massaged his head, which had been ringing from listening to the dead for so long.

"Are you okay? I noticed your face looked pale since we arrived," Akatsuki asked quietly, having also noticed the change in Kojou ever since they entered this world.

"I'm fine. I just have an ability that lets me hear the voices of the dead, which gave me a headache, but I've taken care of it," Kojou said as he shook his head slightly and stood up, walking toward the mature woman who was driving the bus.

"Excuse me, but could you stop in front of that small shop for a moment? We need to get some food and water," Kojou said, pointing to a small shop ahead that didn't appear to have been attacked by either zombies or survivors.

"Now that you mention it, we really should get some food and water," said the beautiful blonde woman with golden eyes, her tone carefree, as if she didn't care even if the world was crawling with zombies.

"..." Kojou didn't say anything else and simply stood beside the woman in silence. Despite her seemingly carefree attitude, Kojou could see the tremble in her body and the fear in her eyes—despite her best efforts to hide it.

Without letting anyone notice, Kojou used his Divine power to help the blonde woman feel comfort and peace, allowing her fear and anxiety to fade slightly.

"By the way, are you a student at Fujimi Academy?" the blonde woman asked curiously after calming down. "Though I don't think you are. Your clothes aren't the school uniform, and I've never seen you at the academy before."

"I'm not a student at Fujimi Academy. I was just visiting with some friends to work on a play with the drama club when… well, everything happened," Kojou replied with a light smile. Given the situation, there was no way anyone could verify his lie. "By the way, I'm Akatsuki Kojou. Nice to meet you."

"I'm the school nurse at Fujimi Academy. My name is Marikawa Shizuka. Nice to meet you too," Shizuka replied kindly, introducing herself as she pulled up in front of the small shop—making sure to run over a zombie in the way so it wouldn't cause trouble. "We've arrived, Akatsuki-kun."

"Thank you, Marikawa-sensei," Kojou nodded lightly to the beautiful woman before turning to the others on the bus. "You should know that this disaster might be spreading all across Japan—or even the whole world. We don't know how long we'll be able to get food, so I suggest stocking up now. I have no intention of sharing my supplies with anyone."

Kojou's words were clear and blunt. He wasn't raised to care for others, and he was already considering parting ways with the group once they reached the city and he could get information from Saeko about why her body radiated the presence of Lucifer.

After speaking, Kojou didn't bother to see if the others were listening. He simply got off the bus and walked toward the small shop, followed closely by both Akatsuki and Akame, as they also needed food and water—especially since they didn't know how long they'd be stuck in this world.

"..." The others on the bus glanced at each other silently before both Saeko and Shizuka stood up to follow Kojou and the others to gather some supplies for themselves as well.

Seeing this, everyone else quickly got off the bus to gather food and water too. They weren't fools—they knew food and water were essential for survival. Some even decided to stay and fortify the small shop as a base.
