The Untouchable of Magic High School – A New God Enters the Game

Chapter 28: Chapter 27: New Member Recruitment Week ②

Shizuku and Honoka joined the Biathlon Club, swayed by Shizuku's awe at Yugen's earlier magic, dragging Honoka along. Their gazes, along with the club's, lingered on Yugen—his spell, Blitz Road, mirrored his sister Mika's, sparking curiosity.

"No harm in explaining," Yugen said. "It's the Electromagnetic Acceleration Fixed-Air Travel Spell, or Blitz Road. It uses vibration acceleration, vector manipulation, and electromagnetic spells, with air fixation via light-wave vibration and hardening magic, controlling aerodynamics, resistance, inertia, and gravity. It demands simultaneous multi-system casting—minimum ten spells. High difficulty."

His slow explanation lost the group. Yugen wasn't surprised; even Mika struggled with its theory, mastering it in a week. Ten Master Clans are monsters… don't call me out.

"It's impractical. Two-digit simultaneous casting? Maintaining it for ten seconds drains an average mage's psion reserves. Better used on Gram Demolition," Yugen said.

"Using it casually is wild, Mitsuya-kun," Tsugumi, the club captain, said with a wry smile.

"Did Mika-neesan do something with it?" Yugen asked.

"I was nabbed by seniors once. Mika carried me—insane. 'Lumiere, the Flash Warrioress' fits her. She taught me a lot," Tsugumi said.

Mika's forte was composite light-wave vibration spells. Blitz Road was her signature, usable with self-acceleration for short bursts, backed by her vast psion reserves.

"What about the spell on those seniors?" Honoka asked.

"Just airflow manipulation for a spin, landing softly on an air cushion," Yugen said.

"You say it lightly, but multi-casting that? How many spells can you handle?" Tsugumi asked.

"Haven't tested, but maybe thirty," Yugen replied.

"Thirty!?" they gasped.

Guess it's shocking? Only Kana-neesan, Mika-neesan, and I can use Lightning Order, but I trained for constant ten-plus spell casting. Dad knows it's my trump card.

As the Biathlon Club's demonstration neared, they spotted Hunting Club seniors leaning against the school, looking ill.

"Hunting Club! You okay?" Tsugumi asked.

"We're fine," a senior replied.

(Psion intoxication. Probably from the sword and kendo club brawl at the second gym. Tatsuya likely used 'that,') Yugen deduced.

He activated his phone-type CAD, conjuring a gentle breeze. The seniors' pallor improved. He stowed the CAD.

"Psion relief spell. Rest up. Likely hit by unexpected noise," Yugen said.

"Got a hunch?" Tsugumi asked.

"Just a similar case I've seen," Yugen evaded.

A Hunting Club girl, Amelia Eimi Akechi, arrived with school nurse Satomi Asuka, suspecting psion poisoning. Satomi sent the seniors to rest in a training room. Yugen, Shizuku, Honoka, and Tsugumi escorted them.

"Thanks, Mitsuya-kun. Your spell helped," Eimi said.

"No big deal. Just a sobering breeze," Yugen replied.

They introduced themselves, bonding. Eimi, a quarter-British Goldie from a noble family, was tied to Yugen's grandfather Gousan, who mediated her parents' marriage. How wide is his network?

Yugen's phone rang—another student council member.

"Mitsuya here."

"Yugen-san, it's me," Miyuki said.

"Miyuki? Emergency at the council room?"

"No, I saw you cozying up with girls."

Yugen felt a chilling glare. Looking down, Miyuki's icy smile from a lower window froze him. Scarier than a yuki-onna! He steadied himself.

"Miyuki… jealous?"

"…N-no! Just come back to the council room!" Miyuki stammered, blushing furiously.

"Understood," Yugen said, ending the call to avoid her wrath. He turned to the eavesdropping trio. "Council calls. Gotta go."

"Okay," Shizuku said.

"Got it," Honoka added.

"See ya, Yugen-kun," Eimi waved.

Heading back, Yugen pondered Miyuki's reaction. Her killing intent was startling, yet she blushed when called out. Lacking romantic experience, he felt out of his depth. Compared to Tatsuya or Leo, he saw himself as plain.

(Dragging past-life baggage… I'm not blind to her feelings, but I lack proof. Better avoid heartbreak than overstep. Friends or best friends is my limit.)

No relationships in middle or elementary school despite confessions. "Gotta avoid weird rumors," he muttered, wary of gossip like being labeled homosexual, though he had ways to quash it.

At the council room, only Suzune was present, not Mayumi.

"Welcome back, Yugen-kun. The president's at club headquarters," Suzune said.

"Punishment Committee?" Yugen asked.

"No, Tatsuya's explaining the second gym incident," Suzune said.

Tatsuya had subdued a sword and kendo club brawl. Yugen reported, "After the Biathlon issue, I saw Hunting Club seniors with psion intoxication. A new member mentioned horses freaking out during their ride, seniors collapsing."

He'd asked Eimi for clues. She noted a calm horse went wild near the gym, seniors clutching their heads.

"Psion intoxication… High-Frequency Blade causes auditory issues, not intoxication. Did Tatsuya do something?" Suzune asked.

"Keep this quiet, senpai. It might tie to 'Blanche,'" Yugen warned.

Suzune gasped. Yugen knew Tatsuya's spell, having replicated it. Its effects—psion intoxication in sensitive people—were clear. He'd developed Floral Wind, a psion wavelength adjustment spell disguised as a breeze, for relief.

"What about those girls?" Suzune asked.

"They're resting in the training room, per Asuka-sensei. I stayed to help," Yugen said.

"Got it. I'll keep it secret," Suzune said.

"Thanks."

Yugen withheld this from Mayumi. Post-Toyama, the Saegusa and Juumonji families were under Ueyama scrutiny. The Mitsuya knew anti-magic groups infiltrated First High. Failure to act could be catastrophic. Yugen also sensed Eimi might drag Shizuku and Honoka into trouble. Practical skills didn't guarantee combat prowess—except for him, Tatsuya, and a few others.

Later, Yugen, Miyuki, Leo, Erika, Mizuki, and Toya (dragged by Leo) met Tatsuya post-inquiry. Introductions were done.

"Rokuzuka Toya. Call me Toya. I don't like surnames. Leo says you're impressive," Toya said.

"Not that special. Shibata Tatsuya. Call me Tatsuya," Tatsuya replied.

"Likewise, Tatsuya," Toya said.

Another Ten Master Clan member, but Leo's "cool guy" comment eased tensions. Toya, joining the mountaineering club, bonded with Leo.

Tatsuya treated them at a café as an apology for delays. A small expense for him. Leo mentioned Toya completed a grueling advanced training course, surprising Erika.

"Doesn't look like a stamina freak, but with long hair, he'd pass for a girl," Erika teased.

"C'mon… sorry, Toya," Leo said.

"I'm used to it. I came to First High partly to escape my sister's dress-up games," Toya said, staring distantly.

Sensing his pain, they changed topics as food arrived. Leo asked about Tatsuya's handling of Kirihara's Rank B High-Frequency Blade.

"Close-range, narrow scope. Like dodging a sharp sword," Tatsuya said.

"Like a sword's easy?" Mizuki said.

"Don't worry, Mizuki. Onii-sama's strong. Only Yugen-san might beat him," Miyuki said.

"Yugen's that strong?" Toya asked, impressed.

"Overrated, maybe," Yugen said.

"But you beat me," Tatsuya teased.

"Three years ago. Your recent moves? I'd need my ultimate technique," Yugen said.

"That's how strong he is," Erika muttered, reassessing Tatsuya.
