Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Doctor Octopus!

With the Ox Talisman, Peter's physique had become even more impressive.

His shoulders were broader, his waist narrower, and his muscle definition more pronounced.

Gwen had noticed this too.

"Peter, what have you been up to lately?"

"How did you get so buff? You could even compete in a bodybuilding contest now."

Peter smiled faintly and lifted his shirt, revealing his well-defined abs.

"Ah! Peter, what are you doing?!"

Gwen quickly looked away, but her eyes couldn't help but sneak a few glances.

Her cheeks instantly turned red.

"Don't pretend, Gwen. You obviously wanted to look, and you even wanted to touch them."

Peter couldn't help but laugh at Gwen's shy reaction.

He enjoyed teasing her from time to time, as if it were a little seasoning in her superhero life.

"Peter, you're like one of those guys outside school who ask girls for their numbers."

"Nonsense, I'm way better-looking than them."

The two bickered as usual, but a different kind of emotion stirred in their hearts.

For Gwen, this ambiguous relationship with Peter was incredibly enjoyable, like the mutual teasing between the male and female leads in a drama before they officially got together.

But her personality leaned more toward being straightforward.

If I like you, I'll express my feelings to you.

The reason she hadn't expressed her love for Peter was because of her identity as Spider-Woman.

Even though Peter said he was a fan of Spider-Woman, what if he didn't actually want to be with someone like her?

What if Spider-Woman brought danger to Peter?

Peter was just an ordinary person and couldn't handle danger.

Gwen was troubled, but Peter reached out and gently held her arm.

"Alright, don't overthink it."

"Let's go. We haven't had dessert yet. By the way, who made that lemon sea bass?"

"Hehe, did you like it? I made it!"

"No wonder it was so bad… I thought I was eating West Lake vinegar fish…"

"I spent hours on it, and you're saying it's bad?"

"When I have time, I'll let you taste my cooking. Ever heard of iron pot stewed fish?"

The two chatted and laughed as they returned from the rooftop to the living room.

A month passed in the blink of an eye.

During this month, their relationship had grown even closer. Since they were both adults now, their bond wasn't as pure as it had been in childhood.

The occasional physical contact hinted that their relationship was on the verge of a qualitative change.

Saturday morning.

Peter's high school grades were excellent, and his physics teacher wanted to guide him toward a career in physics.

So, the teacher wrote a letter to Otto Octavius at Oscorp, hoping to arrange a visit for Peter to observe his experiments.

This would broaden Peter's understanding of physics.

Originally, Peter had planned to decline.

But when he heard the name Otto Octavius, he hesitated.

That name might not ring a bell for most people, but his other alias was infamous—even notorious.

Doctor Octopus!

A nearly insane villain!

A man brainwashed by his own invention!

Perhaps Peter could stop him.

Early in the morning, Peter left home and took a taxi to Oscorp.

He could have used the Rabbit Talisman, but there was no need.

When it wasn't necessary, he preferred to handle things as Peter Parker.

Entering Oscorp, the receptionist directed him to the floor where Dr. Octavius was located, thanks to his prior appointment.

Peter stepped into the elevator, alone.

Just as the doors were about to close, a voice called out.

"Hold the door, please!"

A pair of pale hands stopped the doors from closing.

Peter was slightly startled. The person who entered was none other than the Green Goblin, who had recently attacked various schools in New York.

But at this moment, he was likely Norman Osborn, temporarily lucid.

The billionaire looked gaunt, his suit hanging loosely on his frame. His face was almost skeletal, as if only a thin layer of skin clung to his cheeks.

He looked at Osborn, and Osborn looked back at him.

Then Osborn paused.

"Peter?"

"Yes, Mr. Osborn."

"I didn't expect you to remember me."

Norman Osborn chuckled.

"Of course I remember. You and Harry were elementary school classmates. You used to be close and often came over to play. I even made apple pie for you."

"It's been a while since you've seen Harry, hasn't it?"

Peter nodded.

"We haven't been in touch since he transferred schools in third grade. We didn't have phones back then."

Norman Osborn smiled.

"He'll be back in a few months. You two can catch up then."

"Peter, let's exchange contact info. I'll call you when he's back."

Peter was surprised but didn't refuse.

Although the Green Goblin had done terrible things, Norman Osborn himself was a decent man.

He worked in biological science and medical research, funded schools, and treated his employees and juniors well.

If it weren't for his family's hereditary illness, he wouldn't have turned out this way.

What a shame…

Peter didn't have the Horse Talisman, or he could have cured him.

And the moment he was cured, the Green Goblin persona would cease to exist.
