This Naruto is A Bit Too Evil

Chapter 18: Chapter 18 Hiruzen's Anger

"Bastard! Shisui, are you telling the truth?"

Hiruzen's roar echoed through the entire Hokage Tower, his aged face filled with rage. An Anbu member had been killed within Konoha, and another Konoha Ninja had been targeted for assassination. This was undoubtedly a slap in the face for the entire village.

"It's true, Sandaime-sama. That person was wearing a 'cat' mask, and I can confirm that he was definitely not 'Cat'."

Shisui quickly assured. He had never seen Hiruzen this furious before.

"What did he want from you?"

Danzo, who had been silent until now, spoke up. Though he was addressing Shisui, his eyes remained fixed on the window.

Shisui had already prepared his response. While he trusted Hiruzen's character, he couldn't let a third person know that the attacker was an Uchiha.

"He was after my Sharingan. It seems he has the ability to directly steal others' Kekkei Genkai."

Shisui said with a grave expression, then added: "Not only did he use the Transparent Release, but he also used Wood Release."

Shisui suddenly recalled the tree that had lifted Naruto and carried him away. The shock still hadn't faded, 'That was Wood Release… the very technique Hashirama-sama had used to dominate the Ninja World.'

"What did you say?"

This time, not only was Hiruzen shocked, but even Danzo, who had remained calm until now, paled visibly.

The ability to steal bloodline abilities reminded them of a Missing-nin of Konoha in the past.

But they quickly dismissed the thought. They knew for certain that person couldn't have mastered Wood Release. After all, Wood Release was too dangerous, and that person had no opportunity to fuse with it.

"What mission was the 'cat' on before?" Hiruzen suddenly asked. As Hokage, he usually gave orders directly to the Anbu Commander, who then assigned tasks to the teams, so he wasn't aware of the specifics of 'Cat's' mission.

At that moment, an Anbu member appeared in the Hokage's Office, bowing respectfully before reporting, "'Cat' was on a mission to monitor the Jinchuriki."

"Damn it!"

Both Hiruzen and Danzo stood up abruptly, their faces changed drastically.

"Let's check on Naruto first."

Despite his age, Hiruzen's reflexes were still sharp. He immediately used the Body Flicker Technique and vanished from the spot.

Danzo hurriedly followed, not daring to stay alone with Shisui.

Among the three, even the weakest, Danzō, was an Elite Jonin at the peak of his power, only half a step into the Kage-level, so their speed was naturally impressive.

In no time, they arrived at the building where Naruto lived.

'Is this where the Jinchuriki lives?'

The building stood alone at the corner of the street, with no other structures in the vicinity. The entire building housed only Naruto, and the surrounding silence was occasionally broken by the sound of wind and rustling leaves. These natural whispers echoed through the empty streets, standing out starkly in the cold, quiet night.

'It's so desolate.'

Shisui couldn't help but sigh inwardly. This was his first time visiting this place. Due to the Sharingan that had appeared in the Nine-Tails' eyes during the Nine-Tails' attack, the Uchiha Clan had been forbidden from interacting with the Jinchuriki.

This area was practically a forbidden zone for the Uchiha, managed directly by the Anbu.

Normally, whenever the Jinchuriki appeared in the village, any Uchiha who had awakened the Sharingan would be immediately ordered to stay away. Despite these unreasonable demands, Fugaku had repeatedly clarified the situation to Hiruzen, but Danzo had always firmly rejected them.

The Uchiha couldn't afford to be too forceful on this matter, as it involved the village's 'nuclear weapon'. With their own reputation still tarnished, the issue had eventually been dropped.

'The Nine-Tails' attack...'

Shisui felt a pang of bitterness. After a moment of reflection, his eyes suddenly widened.

'The person who controlled the Nine-Tails couldn't have been from the Uchiha Clan. Fugaku-sama had checked all the Uchiha who had awakened their Sharingan, including Kakashi's eye. At that time, no one had the ability to control the Nine-Tails.'

'But in Konoha, there is another person who has a Sharingan but has never been discovered.'

'Shimura Danzo!'

Shisui's gaze deepened. He couldn't confront a village elder based solely on the words of a mysterious Uchiha, but he could use his own abilities to investigate the truth.

Shisui suddenly felt a headache coming on. Even without thinking, he could feel the pressure. After all, the tension between the village and the Uchiha Clan was already at a breaking point, and now a mysterious Uchiha had appeared, along with the possibility that Danzo was behind the Nine-Tails' attack.

One thing after another was piling up, and he had never felt time and place so pressing before. Even letting his mind wander now filled him with a strong sense of guilt.

"Hokage-sama!"

The three of them hadn't concealed their presence, so the Anbu members monitoring the area quickly noticed the Hokage's arrival and immediately appeared to bow in respect.

Hiruzen merely nodded at them and immediately used a Sensor Ninjutsu to check on Naruto's condition.

When he sensed that Naruto was sound asleep in bed, Hiruzen finally let out a sigh of relief.

"Where was 'Cat' on his mission?"

Hiruzen asked aloud, 'The mission to protect the Jinchuriki was handled by two Anbu teams. Logically, if one member had been compromised, the others on the same mission should have been the first to notice. It seemed that 'Cat' had been taken out without the other Anbu members realizing it.'

'This seems quite troublesome.'

"Cat?" The Anbu members exchanged puzzled glances. The leader of the group spoke up, his voice somewhat hesitant, "'Cat'… because of his Transparent Release, he was assigned to monitor the Jinchuriki directly inside his room today..."

The man's tone was shaky, clearly lacking confidence. Shisui didn't notice anything unusual, but Hiruzen and Danzo immediately picked up on it.

"Didn't I say that when protecting the Jinchuriki, you must maintain a proper distance?" Hiruzen's eyes turned icy, and the lingering anger in his voice made the Anbu members break out in cold sweat.

"Gulp…"

The leading Anbu swallowed his saliva and, under the pressure, explained: "'Cat's' entire family died during the Nine-Tails' attack. Only his younger brother survived. He wanted to take this opportunity to..."

"Enough!" Hiruzen roared, "Those villagers might not know, but as Anbu, how could you not? Naruto is the Jinchuriki, an essential part of the village. How dare you allow such behavior!!!"

The Anbu members quickly dropped to one knee and said: "Please forgive us, Hokage-sama. While 'Cat' may harbor resentment toward the Jinchuriki due to his family's death, we can assure you he would never harm the Jinchuriki. Please give 'Cat' another chance."

Hiruzen's expression remained cold. His gaze flicked briefly toward Danzo, who stood calmly beside him. He was certain that Danzo had secretly influenced 'Cat.' Otherwise, as an Anbu, 'Cat' would never have disregarded his orders.

This was one of Danzo's usual tactics for recruiting members into his Root.

"He's already out of chances." Hiruzen said grimly, his mind already racing with plans to deal with Root.

"Hokage-sama, 'Cat'..."

The Anbu members hesitated, unsure of what to say.

"'Cat' is dead, and there is only his Chakra in Naruto's room." Hiruzen ignored the shocked Anbu Ninjas and continued to give orders.

"Notify all Anbu members to strengthen village security and increase protection for Naruto. Then, summon the heads of all great clans and all Jonin in the village to the Hokage Tower for an emergency meeting."

With a dark expression, Hiruzen turned and headed back to the Hokage Tower. With a single command, he had set the entire village's leadership into motion, ensuring a sleepless night for everyone involved.
