Chapter 28: Chapter 28 Four Symbol Seals
Over the next few days, Naruto didn't go to Training Ground 3 to train with Kakashi and Might Guy. Instead, he stayed at home, or rather, he spent most of his time in the seal space, learning the Four Symbols Seal from Minato.
It took a full week for Naruto to get a decent grasp of the Four Symbols Seal. Mastering Sealing Techniques was no easy task. In fact, it was far more complex than ordinary ninjutsu.
Sealing Techniques had incredibly unique effects, even capable of compressing objects into lower dimensions. For example, the Eight Trigrams Seal on Naruto's stomach had created its own space within him.
This was all thanks to Minato, who is an excellent teacher. Due to his relationship with Kushina, Minato's mastery of Sealing Techniques were highly advanced. After all, Kurama hadn't been as docile back then as it was now. If Kurama had ever gone on a rampage, it would have been up to Minato to seal it away.
Additionally, as a member of the Uzumaki Clan, Naruto naturally had a high affinity for Sealing Techniques. With these two factors combined, Naruto's progress in Sealing Techniques was astonishingly fast, allowing him to master the Four Symbols Seal in just a week.
As for why Naruto in the original work never learned sealing techniques, the current Naruto wasn't sure. It was likely due to the overwhelming influence of Asura's Chakra, leaving him only capable of creating Rasengan.
In his room, Naruto looked at a manga on the table, feeling the seal mark on his body. He placed his hand on the manga, and the patterns of the Four Symbols Seal spread from his palm, enveloping the entire book.
With a poof, the manga disappeared from the table in a puff of smoke and reappeared inside the seal space.
"It worked?!"
Minato's eyes lit up with joy as he caught the manga that had fallen from the air.
"Hmph, what an annoying technique."
Kurama, watching from the side, snorted in displeasure. After all, this was the technique that had sealed it away for decades.
"Haha, Kurama, now that Naruto has learned this sealing technique, life in the seal space won't be so boring anymore."
Minato placed the manga in front of Kurama. He had learned Kurama's name from Naruto. Although he harbored deep hatred for Kurama, they were now stuck together in the seal space, potentially for decades. Plus, he relied on Kurama's Chakra to sustain himself, so he had no choice but to try to get along.
And when Kushina eventually appeared, they would both be relying on Kurama's Chakra to survive. It was better to start building a good relationship now.
"Hmph, I don't need such boring things." Kurama said with a hint of Tsundere.
"Kurama, you're still so Tsundere."
Naruto teased as he appeared in the seal space.
"Little brat!" Kurama roared in embarrassment.
"Congratulations, Naruto. I didn't expect you to master the Four Symbols Seal so quickly." Minato said with genuine pride, his eyes filled with satisfaction. If Naruto could learn the Flying Thunder God Technique just as quickly, he would be even more pleased.
Seeing his child fully inherit both his and Kushina's talents was undoubtedly one of the greatest joys for a father.
"It's all thanks to your teaching, Yondaime." Naruto said politely.
Naruto's politeness didn't surprise Minato. Being able to interact like this was already a significant improvement for him.
"Your talent played the biggest role, Naruto. Should we start practicing the Flying Thunder God Technique now, or do you want to spend more time familiarizing yourself with the Four Symbols Seal?"
Naruto thought for a moment and asked, "The Flying Thunder God Technique is probably much harder to learn than the Four Symbols Seal, right?"
Minato nodded with a serious expression, and said, "The Flying Thunder God is a Space-Time Ninjutsu. Besides requiring immense effort, it also depends on whether the practitioner has an innate talent for Space-Time manipulation."
"Let's wait a bit longer then. Something big might happen in Konoha soon." Naruto said, glancing at Kurama, who was sneakily eyeing the manga. He thought to himself, 'It might be time to bring Kushina out soon. I still need to learn the Uzumaki Clan's Adamantine Sealing Chains from her.'
"Something big? What's going to happen in Konoha?" Minato's expression was complicated. Although he didn't have much fondness for the current Konoha, he was still its former Hokage. Hearing such news inevitably stirred mixed emotions.
Naruto smiled mysteriously, "Yondaime, you will soon be able to see with your own eyes the hypocrisy of Konoha's higher-ups. "
It had been over a month, and Hiruzen still hadn't found the intruder. He was probably starting to suspect Shisui, as Shisui was the only witness to the intruder. And as everyone knew, in Konoha, the Uchiha were not to be trusted.
Once the Hyuga Clan turned off their Byakugan surveillance, Naruto could start setting his plan into motion. By laying a trap near the Uchiha Clan's compound, he would eventually find an opportunity. A pair of Mangekyo Sharingan was worth the effort.
"Am I really wrong?"
Naruto watched as Minato began to question his life choices once more. He didn't say anything else. Naruto felt indifferent toward Minato. While there's no hatred, he certainly didn't see him as a father. That was just how it was. After all, Minato wasn't really his father. Their current relationship was fine as it was.
"Hmm? " Naruto's expression shifted slightly and he suddenly disappeared from the seal space.
Meanwhile, Minato, who is still lost in his thoughts, didn't react at all. Kurama, who had been sneakily reading the manga, glanced over briefly before continuing more openly.
Not long after Naruto's consciousness returned to the real world, there was a knock at the door.
---
Time went back to an hour ago.
At Training Ground 3, Guy was training alone.
Running, handstands, push-ups, sit-ups, punches, kicks… he silently went through all his exercises. Finally, he couldn't take it anymore.
For some reason, neither Naruto nor Kakashi had shown up at the training ground for a week. Guy didn't know where Naruto lived and couldn't find Kakashi, so he had no idea what was going on with the two.
'Were they on some secret mission? Or were they both sick at home with no one to take care of them?'
'No, I need to ask Sandaime-sama!'
As soon as the thought crossed his mind, Guy sprang to his feet and sprinted toward the Hokage Tower.
Coincidentally, Hiruzen had also noticed Naruto's unusual behavior over the past few days. Although he could observe Naruto through the Telescope Technique, all he saw was Naruto sitting around, spacing out.
He had no idea what was really going on. So, when Guy showed up, Hiruzen told him Naruto's address and also informed him of Kakashi's current location and mission, instructing the two to check on Naruto together.
Guy, filled with excitement, immediately ran off. He found Kakashi hiding in a tree near Naruto's house, reading his usual orange book.
"What are you doing here?"
Kakashi looked at the suddenly appearing bushy-browed Ninja with his usual deadpan expression.
"Kakashi, my eternal rival, it's been a week since our last match."
Guy flashed his signature toothy grin, "Today, let's have a long-awaited showdown."
"The challenge? Whoever finds out why Naruto hasn't left his house wins!"
