Transformers Prime: I am Allspark

Chapter 90: The Touch Part 50

Alpha Trion knew that before delving into his vision of the predestined future, he needed to provide context. The development of Cybertronian society without the direct influence of the Primes was a story that needed to be told. Though some, like Onyx and Maximo, showed little interest, others—Zeta and Micronus—leaned in, eager to hear how their world had evolved in their absence.

Onyx, the progenitor of all beasts and one of the most formidable Cybertronians in history, had already succumbed to boredom, his massive frame slumped in a deep slumber. Solus, too, had drifted off, her head resting on his arm like a makeshift pillow. Even Liege Maximo, ever the trickster, was toying with illusions between his fingers, his mind wandering far from Alpha Trion's monologue.

Micronus exchanged a glance with Zeta, his expression thoughtful. "It's remarkable how independent our society has become," he mused. "But it's clear that power has corrupted many. They've forgotten the responsibility that comes with leadership."

Zeta nodded, his tone heavy with disappointment. "Power has a way of revealing one's true nature. Too many have fallen to greed and ambition. Please, continue."

Alpha Trion acknowledged their words with a solemn nod. He knew the time had come to reveal the heart of his vision. "A few days later," he began, his voice steady, "I experienced a clairvoyant episode—the first in a long time."

The room seemed to hold its breath. Even Liege Maximo paused his illusions, his sharp eyes locking onto Alpha Trion. Onyx's golden, draconian eye cracked open, a flicker of interest breaking through his disinterest.

"What did you see?" Zeta pressed, his voice cutting through the tension.

"I saw the rise of a new Prime," Alpha Trion declared, his words echoing like a thunderclap. The statement was enough to jolt even the disinterested Primes to attention.

"A new Prime?" Liege Maximo's lips curled into a sly smile. "A fourteenth Prime... That means one of two things: either this Prime will be born of the Allspark and Primus, or..."

"... He claimed the Matrix of Leadership," Onyx finished, his deep voice resonating with certainty. The Matrix was no mere relic—it was a symbol of ultimate power, capable of elevating its bearer to the status of a true Prime.

Zeta leaned forward, his gaze intense. "What else did your vision reveal?"

Alpha Trion hesitated, his expression grave. "I saw the beginning of a great conflict—a war between two factions. The nature of this battle and its outcome remain unclear, but the Allspark will play a pivotal role."

Alchemist, ever the skeptic, stroked his chin thoughtfully. "Your visions are often vague, Alpha. Even you can't be certain of their meaning."

Liege Maximo's grin widened, his mind already racing with possibilities. "Leave it to me," he said, his tone dripping with confidence. "I'll uncover the truth."

Alpha Trion's optics widened in alarm. He knew that look—it never ended well. "No, no! Don't even think about it!" he protested, taking a step back.

"Relax," Liege Maximo purred, his voice deceptively innocent. "I'm completely harmless."

Before Alpha Trion could react, Micronus raised a hand, his energy enveloping Alpha's body in a shimmering field, freezing him in place. "Let's see what you're hiding," Micronus said, his tone calm but firm.

Liege Maximo approached the immobilized Alpha Trion, his hand glowing with a sinister red aura. The air around them crackled as the illusionist Prime began to weave his magic. "Let's peel back the layers of that clairvoyant mind of yours," he murmured.

The room dissolved into a haze of red smoke, the Primes finding themselves transported to a strange, alien landscape. The ground beneath them was rocky, the sky dark and foreboding, with purple lightning streaking across the clouds.

Solus, roused from her nap by Onyx's nudge, blinked in confusion. "What's going on?" she asked, her voice tinged with irritation.

"Liege is forcing a mind-read," Onyx explained, his draconian eyes scanning the eerie surroundings. "Micronus is aiding him."

Solus groaned. "Micronus and Liege working together? That's a terrifying combination."

Micronus chuckled softly. "I'm not a monster, Solus. I'm simply... resourceful."

"With powers like yours, you can be a monster if you want to be." she shot back, her arms crossed as she took in the chaotic scene.

Zeta Prime stepped forward, his optics narrowing as he surveyed the unfamiliar terrain. "This place... it feels heavy, oppressive."

Solus nodded, her senses tingling with unease. The air was thick with an almost tangible tension, as if the planet itself was alive and hostile.

Cracks began to form in the ground, and the tremors grew stronger. Purple lightning struck the earth with increasing frequency, illuminating the dark sky in brief, violent flashes.

"Is this normal for organic planets?" Liege Maximo asked, his tone casual despite the chaos.

"Only during catastrophic events," Alchemist replied, adjusting his relic—a pair of glasses that allowed him to see beyond the ordinary. "But this... this feels different."

Zeta turned to him. "Can your relic make sense of this?"

Alchemist shook his head. "This is still an illusion, a projection. My relic has its limits." He looked up at the sky and managed to see a few stars that the clouds couldn't hide.

Solus glanced around, her optics narrowing. "Where's Alpha Trion?" she asked, realizing he was nowhere to be seen.

Onyx, his claws extended and his posture tense, was fixated on a distant volcano. Black smoke billowed from its peak, laced with the same purple lightning that streaked the sky. His bestial instincts were on high alert.

"Onyx?" Solus called, her voice cautious. "What do you see?"

His response was low and guttural. "I sense a familiar energy... something ancient, powerful. But I think my senses may be deceiving me."

Liege Maximo sauntered over, his smirk unwavering. "Well, well. The beast has caught a scent. Care to share with the rest of us?"

Onyx's golden eyes flicked toward him, and for a moment, Liege's confidence wavered. Even he knew better than to provoke the dragon when his instincts took over.

Zeta stepped forward, his voice calm but commanding. "Lead the way, Onyx."

The beast Prime gave a slow nod, his claws digging into the rocky ground as he moved toward the volcano. The others followed, their unease growing with every step. The air grew hotter, the ground more unstable, and the sense of impending doom more palpable.

As they drew closer, the source of the energy became clear—a pulsating, dark core within the volcano, radiating a power that was both familiar and alien. It was a force that none of them could ignore, a harbinger of the conflict Alpha Trion had foreseen.

The Primes looked at the smoke from the volcano, some of them felt as if they were being watched by a figure in that place, but it was nothing more than an instinctive act they had when they felt a threat, of course, but one fact was certain in this story: the ascension of a new Prime would change everything.
