Chapter 173: Chapter 180, Sixth Chapter – Moving Forward
Tokyo Jujutsu High.
On the stone-paved path, several figures stood silently under the red torii gate, waiting for something.
A moment later, a striking figure carrying a backpack and dragging a suitcase stepped onto the stone stairs, appearing before everyone.
"Hey hey!"
Gojo Satoru suddenly flashed to the front, clapping excitedly.
"Everyone, here's a surprise! Our new second-year student, Yukinoshita Yukino! Give her a big welcome!"
"Ohh! Yukinoshita-senpai!"
Itadori Yuji's face lit up with excitement as he eagerly started clapping first.
The others quickly followed, applauding in welcome.
"Thank you, everyone."
Yukinoshita Yukino smiled slightly as she stepped forward, brushing her wind-blown hair behind her ear.
Every movement, every expression of the black-haired girl radiated elegance and youthful energy, making Kugisaki Nobara envious to the point of tears.
"Wait, why is Yukinoshita-senpai a second-year?"
Itadori Yuji asked a rather dumb question.
"Because she was already a year ahead of us, idiot."
Fushiguro Megumi's usually calm face twitched at the question, a few metaphorical dark lines appearing.
"You literally just called her senpai, and you're still asking why?"
"Oh! Right!"
The pink-haired boy smacked his fist into his palm, as if he had just made a great realization.
"Idiot." x4
"Salmon."
Everyone spoke in unison, except for Inumaki Toge, who was limited by his cursed speech, and Yoshino Junpei, who was covering his mouth, trying not to laugh.
"Since we already know each other's names, there's no need for another round of introductions, right?"
Zenin, the leader of the second-years, stepped forward with a grin.
She extended a hand.
Yukinoshita Yukino nodded and shook her hand.
Watching this friendly exchange, Gojo Satoru couldn't help but smirk. Then, with curiosity in his voice, he asked,
"By the way, there's something I'm really curious about—how did you convince Hayashizaki to let you transfer here?"
"It's not a transfer, it's an exchange program," Yukinoshita Yukino corrected him.
"Eh, same thing."
The white-haired man waved his hand dismissively.
The exchange program was something Yukinoshita Yukino had arranged herself. Two days after the Shinjuku attack, she contacted Ijichi Kiyotaka and brought it up over the phone.
But in reality, this "exchange" only involved Yukinoshita transferring here—no students from Jujutsu High were actually sent to Sobu High in return.
And as far as Gojo Satoru knew, Hayashizaki hadn't given any approval for this.
He couldn't figure out why that guy would agree to Yukinoshita Yukino's decision.
"Now that I think about it, I haven't seen him since that day. Did he just take off on some vacation and dump his student here at Jujutsu High?"
Gojo Satoru smirked, full of mischief as he threw out his guess.
"Something like that. If that's how you want to see it, Gojo-san, I won't argue."
Yukinoshita Yukino had no intention of revealing the truth about Hayashizaki's absence. She simply nodded, acknowledging Gojo's assumption.
"Hey, now that you're officially a student here, shouldn't you start calling me 'Gojo-sensei'?"
Gojo Satoru grinned and pointed at himself.
"Please don't joke. My teacher is Hayashizaki-kun."
Her tone was calm, but firm.
"Eh."
"Alright, this has nothing to do with that idiot, Gojo, anymore." The black-haired girl with a high ponytail shoved Gojo Satoru aside.
"Panda, help Yukinoshita with her luggage!" Zenin called out, then turned to the black-haired girl. "Come on, I'll take you to the second-year dorms. There's an empty room next to mine. You okay with staying next door?"
"Anything's fine, I'm not picky," Yukinoshita Yukino replied.
"Great!" Panda walked up and picked up Yukinoshita Yukino's suitcase.
Just as the three were about to leave, Yukinoshita Yukino suddenly stopped and turned to Gojo Satoru.
"When can I start taking on missions?"
"Oh? You're in a hurry?" Gojo Satoru seemed surprised by the question.
"Yes. If possible, please assign me as many missions as you can. Whether it's first-grade, third-grade, or even special-grade, I don't mind. As long as it's about exorcising curses, that's all that matters."
Yukinoshita Yukino's face was serious. "That's the reason I transferred here."

"Sigh… got lectured again."
Finally done listening to her mother's long talk, Yukinoshita Haruno could finally take a bite of her dinner.
Just as she expected, her mother had been waiting at the dining table, sitting there with perfect posture, unmoving, all the way until past eight—just to give her rebellious daughter a proper lecture.
This time, though, her mother didn't bring up the issue of her drinking. That had already been dealt with the night she came home drunk. She wouldn't repeat herself—she'd just wait until the next time she caught Haruno drinking and make the punishment even harsher.
Instead, today's topic was about how Haruno had slept the entire day, missing both lunch and dinner with the family, and how lazy she had been lately.
Haruno wanted to argue that if she couldn't even relax at home, then life would be way too exhausting.
But she couldn't say it out loud.
After all, her mother lived by that exact standard. The fact that she could sit there for hours without budging, waiting for Haruno to wake up, proved it.
Since she held herself to such high expectations, she expected the same from her daughters.
Even Hayashizaki was starting to feel a little sorry for Yukinoshita Haruno.
After finishing her meal, Haruno's mother went to take a bath and rest. Meanwhile, Haruno, who had slept all day, was still full of energy, sitting on the living room couch watching TV.
But after a while, she got bored.
She went back to her room, pulled a book from the shelf, and tried to read—only to find she couldn't focus at all.
"This is so boring… Take me up into the sky again so I can look at the stars." Haruno closed the book.
"No," Hayashizaki refused.
"Why not?" The short-haired girl raised an eyebrow, looking annoyed. "Come on, whether it's being grounded by my mother or getting scolded because I was unconscious all day, it's all your fault. And now you're even refusing to take me sightseeing?"
"Aren't you supposed to be the demon who grants people's wishes?"
"First of all, I'm not a demon. And I'm definitely not some wish-granting machine. Second, I think you should start training from now on."
"Training? Training for what?"
Yukinoshita Haruno tilted her head in confusion.
"Combat."
Hayashizaki answered bluntly.
