Transmigrated Into the World of Magic and Swords

Chapter 297: Meeting Someone From the Dragon Race

After washing their faces and filling their water bags, they began exploring the valley.

"Look! There is a huge gate over there!" Scarlett said as she pointed her right index finger at the gate on her right side.

"What a big gate!" Diana stated. "There are also two giant knight statues beside it. I suddenly wonder if someone actually lives there."

"Let's take a look," Ren was also curious about the gate.

"Un." Diana and Scarlett nodded in unison.

After they passed through the gate, they saw a ruined house on the right and a stone hill in front.

Ren and Scarlett explored the ruined house while Diana chose to check the hill because her instincts told her that something was hidden in that place.

"Hmm? Why does this feel like a stone door?" Diana examined the stone hill carefully.

'Let me destroy it.'

She retrieved her daggers from her space ring and attacked it.

*Slash…

She slashed her daggers in a cross, sending an X-shaped strike toward the stone hill.

'What?!'

She widened her eyes and inspected it again.

'My strike didn't even leave a scratch. I will use a powerful skill now.'

She took a long step back and used one of her strongest attacks.

Boom!

Boom!

The stone hill shook, but her attack failed to destroy it again.

"Just how strong is this hill?" She approached the hill and checked it carefully again.

'Maybe there is mechanism to open the door.'

She began inspecting the surface of the hill, looking for any clues or hidden switches that might trigger it.

"What are you doing?" Ren asked curiously.

Ren and Scarlett left the ruined house because they found nothing there.

"Handsome, I think there is something hidden in this hill." Diana told him that she had attacked the hill, but she failed to destroy it as if it were protected by something powerful.

"Hmm?" Ren ordered his system to check it.

[Host, she can't destroy the hill because it's protected by a defensive formation.]

'Defensive formation? Then do you think her instincts is right?'

He was startled after hearing it.

[It seems so, Host.]

He then told his system to scan the area and find a way to deactivate the formation.

[Host, do you see these four small statues around the hill?]

Ren turned his head.

'Do you mean these four beast statues are the key to opening the hidden door?'

[That's right, Host. Channel your spiritual energy into them at the same time, and it will deactivate the formation right away.]

'Alright.'

He followed the system's instructions.

"Hmm?" Scarlett and Diana were startled when he suddenly used Ice Clone magic.

However, they didn't say anything and only stared at them because they were curious about what he was going to do.

Once he infused them with his energy, the four statues glowed with brilliant golden light.

Shortly after that, a massive formation appeared on the ground.

When the formation vanished, the sound of the stone door opening by itself echoed in their ears.

"So, this hill is protected by a formation." Diana finally knew why she failed to destroy it.

"Does this mean we have found the mysterious pool?" Scarlett's face lit up as she saw the tunnel.

"Maybe," Ren replied. "Let's check it."

As they stepped into the passage, the torches hanging on the wall lit up one by one. After walking for around three minutes, they arrived at a big chamber.

"Do you think there is a treasure in this chamber?" Diana asked as she walked around the chamber.

Ren didn't answer her question and ordered his system to scan the area.

[There is no treasure in this place, Host.]

"The tunnel to the next floor is blocked by a barrier?" Ren didn't attack the barrier immediately and only stood before it.

"It says 'drop your blood here and if you are the fated one, you will be able to pass through the barrier without problem.'" Scarlett read the message written on the stone table.

Diana approached Scarlett and read it too.

"Handsome, come here and drop your blood." Diana didn't try dropping her blood because the pool was not meant for humans, but for magical beasts.

"Blood?" Ren walked toward them and listened to her.

The moment his blood touched the stone tablet, it glowed, and a moment later, a beam of light burst forth, shooting at him and enveloping his entire body in golden radiance.

Once his body stopped emitting golden light, Scarlett said, "Ren, try walking through it,"

Ren nodded and approached the barrier.

Mystically, he was able to pass through the barrier easily.

But when he tried to return to the chamber, the barrier refused to let him through.

'What's going on?'

He tried to destroy the barrier, but his efforts were in vain.

"Scarlett…Diana…" They could not hear him, so he used a communication token.

"Ren, what do you see in there?" Scarlett asked curiously.

"I don't know. I haven't checked it yet." he replied. "But for some reason, I can't get back into the chamber."

"It's fine, Handsome." Diana responded. "We will wait for you here."

"Alright. I will find a way to return later." With these words, he cut off the communication.

After five minutes of walking through the passage, a soft light emerged at the end of the tunnel.

He thought he would see another chamber, but what greeted him was a vast, open meadow.

'Meadow?'

He suddenly felt like he had stepped into another world again.

'There is someone in that house.'

He spotted a wooden house a few meters from him, with a massive tree standing in the front yard.

Beneath the big tree, an old man sat quietly on a bamboo chair. He could not tell which race he belonged to because he could not see his face.

'Is he the owner of this place?'

He approached the old man slowly.

As soon as he stepped into the front yard, the old man's voice rang out. "After waiting six hundred years, someone from my race has finally appeared."

The old man's words surprised Ren, causing him to stop his footsteps instantly.

'Someone from my race?'

He put his guard up because he didn't know whether the old man was a friend or an enemy.

"Don't be afraid, young man. I'm not going to hurt you." The old man slowly rose from his chair and turned around, revealing his face.

The old man had silver hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who saw him would know immediately that he was from the dragon race because curved dragon horns rose from his head.

'Wait! Someone from my race?'

Ren failed to control his emotions when he recalled the old man's words.

'Does that mean my mother is from the dragon race? Is this the reason why I transformed into a dragon when she used forbidden magic on me?'

He had always believed that his transformation had nothing to do with his bloodline, but now he was starting to think otherwise.

"Old man, did you just say someone from my race? Does that mean I'm from the dragon race?" Ren wanted to make sure he had heard correctly.

"What?! You don't know you are from the dragon race?" the old man said in surprise. "Wait! Why does your body have the scent of the human race as well?"
