Chapter 298: He Is From Royal Family
A/N: I made a mistake in the previous chapter. The old man was waiting for six hundred years, not six hundred thousand years. I've corrected it. I'm sorry for this.
----
"Well, I'm half-human, half-magical beast." Ren began explaining the reason why his body emitted the scent of humans as well.
He said his father was human, while his mother was a magical beast.
He didn't know who his mother was or what race she belonged to because he had never met her before.
When his father was still alive, he never spoke a word about his mother as if she came from a bad clan.
"I see." Disappointment flickered across the old man's face when he found out that Ren was not pure-blooded dragon. "So, your late father never told you anything about your mother, and the only thing you know about her is from some handwriting you accidentally found at home?"
"Yes," Ren lied about the handwriting because he didn't want to reveal his system. "I only know that my mother is from the main continent and she is a genius princess."
The old man's eyes lit up with interest. "So, royal blood runs through your veins?"
His excitement returned when he learned about his lineage.
Even if he was not a pure-blooded dragon, his bloodline should still be superior to that of normal dragons because the royal family's lineage was unique and powerful.
"Yes." Ren didn't care about his royal background, so he acted normally. "Why are you suddenly so excited, Elder?"
"You know, I've heard so many incredible rumors about the royal family." The old man began sharing what he had heard with Ren.
According to the rumors, their bloodline granted them extraordinary power and unique abilities.
Not only that, but every royal was said to be born with at least Grade B talent.
It could be said that members of the royal family were destined to become powerful dragons because their bloodline didn't just enhance their strength, but it also awakened their potential from birth and put them far above ordinary dragons.
Ren touched his chin thoughtfully.
'Does that mean my Grade S talent comes from my bloodline?'
A question popped up in his mind.
"Haha!" The old man suddenly burst into waves of laughter. "It seems my six hundred years of waiting and guarding this place haven't been in vain after all."
"Guarding this place?" Ren suddenly recalled the condition required to enter the abode. "Don't tell me that the reason no one has found the pool until now is because you have been preventing them from discovering it?"
"Of course!" the old man answered honestly. "We were the ones who discovered the mysterious pool. There is no way we would let people from other races use it."
He then revealed that he was the one who had dragged them into the lake when they were escaping the death fog.
He didn't let Scarlett and Diana come with him because they were not from the dragon race.
"We?" Ren hadn't seen anyone else in that place, so the old man's words took him by surprise.
"My brothers and I discovered the pool six hundred years ago." The old man explained. "They reached the end of their lifespans and passed away long ago."
Before their deaths, they left the abode and spread rumors about the mysterious pool, hoping people from the dragon races would hear and come.
Unfortunately, no one came.
"It seems that aside from us, there isn't a single dragon on this continent." The old man let out a heavy sigh. "Well, at least you have come to this place. That means my brothers' efforts were not in vain."
"I see." Ren was not too surprised by it because Velmira said he was the only dragon on the Vlizica continent.
"Before I let you enter the pool, can I test your talent and comprehension first?" the old man asked with excited eyes. "You know, I've been curious about the rumors, so I want to see with my own eyes whether the royal bloodline truly lives up to its name."
"Sure." Ren agreed instantly. "By the way, who are you, Elder? And do you know anything about the dragon kingdom in the main continent?"
"Ah, right! I forgot to introduce myself." The old man laughed. "I'm Zeyrix Drakonhart. I was indeed from there, but I left the main continent six hundred years ago."
"Main continent?" Ren's expression brightened. "How many dragon kingdoms are there?"
"Only one kingdom but there are many princes and princesses." Zeyrix raised one finger as he answered. "And I don't think your mother is from my generation because there were not any genius princesses in my time."
"I see." Ren replied.
'It seems I still need to go there myself.'
He added in his mind.
"Follow me. We will check your talent first." After saying that, Zeyrix led Ren to the backyard.
Once they stood before the Talent Measuring Stone, Zeyrix instructed Ren to place his hand on it and infuse it with his energy.
"Alright." The engraved runes on the stone began to glow when Ren infused his energy into it.
Zeyrix, who stood behind Ren, widened his eyes as the letter 'S' shimmered on the stone's surface.
'Grade S! His talent is actually Grade S!'
He had expected Ren to possess high talent, but the result still far exceeded his expectations because he had previously thought it would be Grade A talent.
'So the rumors were true after all.'
He finally knew that the rumors weren't exaggerated.
Zeyrix retrieved a skill book from his space ring and said, "I have Divine class middle level skill book called Heaven Piercing Dragon Fist. How long will it take you to master it?"
"Thirty minutes." Ren lied to him.
"Thirty minutes?" Zeyrix found it hard to believe what he was hearing. "Are you sure you can master this skill in just thirty minutes?"
"Yes." Ren had expected his reaction because it was an impossible thing to do for everyone.
Zeyrix handed the skill book to him. "Then, prove it to me."
[Ding! Host has discovered the Piercing Dragon Fist skill. Do you want to learn it?]
A notification popped up when the skill book was in his hand.
'Yes.'
Memories related to the Heaven Piercing Dragon Fist suddenly appeared in his mind, and he felt as if he had already mastered it a long time ago.
Ren opened the skill book and pretended to read it.
"Hmm?" Zeyrix stroked his chin as he watched Ren flipping through the pages.
'Can he really understand the material at that speed?'
He didn't disturb Ren and kept watching him.
Without realizing it, thirty minutes had passed.
Ren rose to his feet and turned to Zeyrix. "I'm going to use the skill now,"
"Un." Zeyrix nodded.
Ren turned around and walked a few steps forward.
'I will just use the air as the target.'
As Ren slowly raised his right hand, golden energy began to swirl around his right fist.
The air suddenly thickened, and the grass bent backward as if they were bowing to their master.
"Heaven Piercing Dragon Fist." Ren's voice was low, but the moment the words left his mouth, the golden dragon burst forth.
The dragon charged forward with a roar that shook the sky, and the force of his attack split the meadow in a straight path.
The grass was torn to shreds, the ground cracked, and a sonic boom followed it. When the energy dissipated, everything returned to normal.
But where once stood a green meadow, a path of scorched earth now stretched across the field like a scar.
Behind Ren, Zeyrix stood frozen.
But a moment later, he burst into waves of laughter.
"Haha! As expected of someone from royal family! Haha." Zeyrix had never heard of someone mastering a Divine class skill in just thirty minutes.
Even geniuses needed at least twenty years to master it. But here, Ren could do it in just half an hour.
This meant Ren was on an entirely different level from them.
He was an unparalleled genius!
He was above them!
"Young man, from your aura, you are already at 5-star. How old are you now?" Zeyrix asked curiously.
"I'm twenty-two years old." Ren replied.
"Haha!" Zeyrix laughed again. "Twenty-two years old and already at 5-star. A true monster has appeared in my race! Hahaha!"
Ren smiled softly at his behavior.
After several seconds, Zeyrix could calm himself. "Alright, young man. Let me take you to the pool now."
