Transmigrated: The Lycan King’s Pet

Chapter 192 Spending the Night with White

My breath caught in my throat.

'Did… did it just climb into the bed?'

My heartbeat quickened. My mind screamed at me to turn around, to look, to confirm that I wasn't losing it.

But my body refused to move.

I swallowed, my fingers slowly curling into the sheets. 'This is insane. It's just a wolf. Just a really warm, huge wolf… right?'

Slowly, I turned my head, just enough to glance over my shoulder.

My breath caught.

The wolf had climbed into my bed and curled against me like he belonged there. His white fur brushed softly against my nightdress, his head resting just behind my shoulder. His body rose and fell with every slow, steady breath.

"What are you doing?" I whispered, voice barely audible.

He didn't open his eyes. But his ears twitched, and his tail gave a faint thump, like he was pleased with himself.

I turned back around and stared at the wall. My heart was thumping. I wasn't scared… I was just confused.

'When did wolves start sharing a bed with a human? Except he is a werewolf… common Aeris, there is no way this is a wolf. According to the books, werewolves are much larger than normal wolves, and there is no way a wolf can set foot inside the Fae realm without getting caught immediately. I'm just overthinking.'

"No boundaries, huh?" I mumbled under my breath.

Still, I didn't push it away, or tell it to move. I wasn't sure why. Maybe it was the heat from his body keeping me calm. Maybe it was the way his breathing made my heart beat in a calm rhythm, or maybe I just liked the feeling of not being alone.

However this wasn't right, I needed to teach it boundaries. "White go lie on the ground. The bed is for me." I muttered hesitantly.

It whined, snuggling its head to the crook of my neck. Its nose felt cold against my skin, but its breath was like the air from a furnace.

"You are behaving like a spoiled child, If you don't go now… I'll call the head guard to take you to the King." I turned to face it.

Its eyes sparkled with water. "Are you crying?" I sat up taken aback by its behaviour.

"I… I didn't mean to make you cry… stop crying." I panicked.

It whimpered, its head lowered, and it almost looked like a human with slumped shoulders. 'What am I even thinking now?'

"Stop crying." I ruffled its fur. "It's just that… you are a wolf and I'm human, we can't share a bed."

'Right?' I thought inwardly.

White climbed down the bed, walking pitifully to the rug.

My heart squeezed seeing how down it looked. "Fine." I sighed in defeat. I patted the side of my bed. "Come to bed."

"Aargh." I yelped as it was already back on the bed before the blink of an eye.

"That was fast," I muttered under my breath. I hardened my expression. "It is only tonight that you are sharing the bed with me. Think of it as a welcome gift." I huffed, before lying down.

It huffed, wagging its tail happily, before snuggling close to me again… well I let it, it was so warm that I could not help but snuggle into it.

A satisfied growl rumbled from its throat. I scoffed when I heard it. 'Hope it won't have me as a night snack.' I sighed. Seeing the wolf after dreaming about a black one that was trapped made me feel like they were both connected.

However, I could not piece them together. My eyes blinked slowly at the ceiling. I wasn't sleepy anymore. How could I be, with a wolf on my bed?

I turned my head just a little, just enough to see him. His eyes were closed now. He looked peaceful… too peaceful for a creature that had gotten past the barrier and frightened the guards.

I reached over and gently brushed a few strands of my hair away from his nose. "I hope you're not a bad wolf," I muttered.

Listening to its calm breathing, soon my eyes fluttered closed and I slowly slipped into oblivion.

......

(Damon POV)

"You shameless wolf, why didn't you run away? You are putting us in danger! And what was that with the crying? We wouldn't even shed a tear if our limbs were torn apart… why were you crying like a pup?" I burst out in fury.

"Relax, you are just jealous, that you are taking the back seat while I get to feel her warmth and hold her close." He said leisurely, savouring the scent of Ember. "If you can act shameless and pretend that you were weak, why can't I?"

"That is different… let me take control, let me feel her." My fury melted into a pleading tone.

"Oh, I thought you were mad at me, a few seconds ago. Unfortunately, I can't let you, we can't afford to blow our cover."

I could hear the mocking in his voice.

I closed my eyes, trying to contain my anger. It would be a disaster if we ended up fighting for control.

Listening to the calm rhythm of her heartbeat, made me relax. Oh, how badly I wanted to pat her head, to feel her skin against mine.

However, this was enough, knowing that she was alive and breathing, was the greatest gift I had received. I didn't know what I was going to do if she were really no more.

The image of her falling off the cliff with bloodied clothes and body haunts me every night. I felt my sanity hanging by a thread.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm worth her.

A sad smile formed on my lips, I still remember when we first met, she was just an outcast Omega, sold to be a breeder. Then she became my pet, then my mate, and now a Princess.

'I feel like she was something more… and I'm afraid of losing her.'
