Chapter 6: Azure Sky Dragon Transformation Technique and Xiao Yi Xian

The scorching sun blazed in the sky, its intense heat causing the distant air to ripple and distort. Each step on the dirt road crushed the dry leaves that had fallen from nearby trees, their crisp crackling sounds echoing with every footfall. The high temperatures had roasted the leaves brittle.

Walking steadily along the wide yellow dirt road was a young man dressed in black. Unlike the other passersby, who were drenched in sweat and looked miserable from the heat, he remained completely dry, his expression calm and composed. It was as though the blazing heat had no effect on him at all.

The people around him couldn't help but steal glances in his direction. It wasn't just his apparent immunity to the oppressive heat that drew their attention. Compared to the rugged, scarred mercenaries with broad shoulders and harsh features that populated the small town, this young man was like a rare, elegant gem. He stood out like a pearl in the night, his appearance that of a refined gentleman.

Several female mercenaries, dressed in revealing outfits, unconsciously licked their lips as their eyes lit up with interest.

Sensing the hungry gazes around him, Lu Bu sighed deeply. A young man venturing out alone really does have to protect himself, doesn't he?

But just as the female mercenaries were preparing to approach him, a sudden chill enveloped them. It wasn't physical it was a bone deep, primal fear, as though they had been targeted by a terrifying magical beast.

They didn't understand what had happened, but their instincts told them to stop. Reluctantly, they froze in place, watching helplessly as the handsome young man strolled away.

"Qingshan Town… I've arrived," Lu Bu said with a faint smile, glancing at the large signboard above the town's entrance.

His first goal here was to acquire the map or rather, the inheritance of the Purifying Lotus Demon Flame. The ancient Heavenly Refining Array left behind by the Purifying Lotus Demon Saint was incredibly enticing for someone like him, a talisman master. If he could comprehend it, his combat strength would undoubtedly soar to new heights.

Additionally, he planned to head to the Tagore Desert. The Heavenly Flames were far too valuable to ignore. After obtaining one, his next destination would be Jia Nan Academy.

Not for the Fallen Heart Flame, though. This time, his interest lay in Zi Yan.

During his previous life in the Hundred Dynasty War, Lu Bu had obtained an ancient key that granted him access to the Azure Dragon Hall of the Four Great Mysterious Sects. There, he had inherited the legacy of the Azure Dragon King, Qingzhi, along with the Azure Sky Dragon Transformation Technique.

Unfortunately, before he could fully master this extraordinary technique, he was killed by a powerhouse from the Western Profound Domain. Truly, luck was an indispensable part of strength.

Lu Bu sighed deeply. The cultivation method for the Azure Sky Dragon Transformation Technique was imprinted in his soul, but it required the essence of a dragon to practice. His current plan was to try using the bloodline of the Void Ancient Dragon.

Such a powerful technique can't be allowed to go to waste!

While these thoughts swirled in his mind, Lu Bu entered a pharmacy called "Ten Thousand Medicines Pavilion." A few days earlier, during his conversation with Gu Ni, he had picked up some basic knowledge of medicinal herbs. He planned to buy a few ingredients and try his hand at refining pills.

"Welcome, dear customer! Welcome to Ten Thousand Medicines Pavilion! How may I assist you today? Are you looking for medicines or herbs?" As soon as Lu Bu stepped through the door, a shop assistant greeted him with a broad smile.

Lu Bu paused. This doesn't seem right…

Shouldn't no one greet me at all? Then, when I can't afford the herbs, I'd get mocked by the staff? Isn't that how it's supposed to go? Is this different because I'm not the main character? What kind of unfair treatment is this?!

"Dear customer?" The shop assistant maintained his polite smile. "We have all kinds of medicines here external treatments, internal treatments, oral medications, topical applications, finished products, raw herbs anything you need. What are you looking for?"

Cough. Lu Bu cleared his throat, deciding not to pick a fight with someone so polite. "I'll just take a look around for now. If I need anything, I'll let you know."

"No problem at all, dear customer! Take your time!" The assistant immediately turned to another customer entering the store, repeating the same enthusiastic pitch.

Lu Bu scanned the store, deep in thought. Didn't Xiao Yan find a rare medicinal herb here? What was it again?

Releasing his soul energy, Lu Bu subtly scanned his surroundings. Before long, his gaze locked onto a corner of the store, where a bundle of herbs was stacked.

Got it!

"Dear customer, you have excellent taste!" The shop assistant noticed Lu Bu's gaze and hurried over, smiling warmly. "This is Huanglian Essence, handpicked by Xiao Yi Xian herself. It's still sealed. Each piece costs 100 gold coins very affordable!"

"Xiao Yi Xian…" Lu Bu's eyes lit up. She was someone he had been planning to meet.

"I'll take the entire bundle of Huanglian Essence," Lu Bu said with a smile. "But I also want to ask you something do you know where I can find Xiao Yi Xian?"

The assistant's eyes gleamed with excitement. Hoisting the bundle of Huanglian Essence, he began calculating the total price as quickly as possible, clearly worried that Lu Bu might change his mind. "Xiao Yi Xian is one of our resident physicians here at the Ten Thousand Medicines Pavilion. She's usually in that direction. If you need treatment, you can find her there…"

"Altogether, that'll be 2,300 gold coins, dear customer," the assistant said, rubbing his hands together expectantly as he looked at Lu Bu.

Lu Bu flicked his finger, and a large pouch of gold coins flew out. Back in the imperial capital, Lu Bu had withdrawn the entirety of Yun Yu's fortune from his storage ring's gold card over 300,000 gold coins in total. It had to be said, Yun Leng, the Grand Elder, had been extraordinarily generous to his son.

"Here you go, dear customer. Please take your herbs." After counting the coins, the shop assistant handed over the herbs with a big smile.

Lu Bu glanced at the herbs, picking up a piece of the Huanglian Essence. With a light flick of his finger, the dry, yellowish surface revealed a faint crimson tint underneath.

Blood Lotus Essence, the main ingredient for refining the Tier 5 Blood Lotus Pill. In any other place, this herb would easily fetch a price of at least one or two million gold coins.

He didn't need it, but Xiao Yan certainly would. When the time came, Lu Bu figured he could con Xiao Yan into a trade. He'd probably even be happy about it.

Letting out a sly laugh, Lu Bu found immense joy in taking advantage of the main character. With a wave of his hand, he stored the entire bundle of herbs in his storage ring. The shop assistant looked on enviously.

A storage ring… To him, this was a luxury item. Owning one in his lifetime would make it all worthwhile.

Lu Bu stepped out of the Ten Thousand Medicines Pavilion and made his way toward Xiao Yi Xian. It was time to find the treasure.

As dusk approached, Xiao Yi Xian wrapped up her day's work at the pavilion. Efficiently packing up various medicinal tools and ingredients, she hummed a light tune, her mood exceptionally cheerful.

"Ah… Finally done," her assistant, Liffey, sighed deeply, as though a heavy burden had been lifted. "This kind of life is just too dull day after day, it's so boring."

"Not at all," Xiao Yi Xian replied with a gentle smile. "Healing the sick and saving lives is a wonderful job. It makes people very happy."

"What does it matter if those ugly men are happy?" Liffey scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Sister Xiao Yi Xian, is there anything fun happening lately?"

"Something fun?" Xiao Yi Xian tilted her head, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear with a smile. "I found a high quality White Orchid Fruit recently. It can be used to make some excellent medicines."

Liffey rolled her eyes again. "What's so fun about that? It's just a way to make more gold coins."

"Hmm…" Xiao Yi Xian pursed her lips, twirling a strand of hair with her slender fingers, as though she were deep in thought.

Seeing this, Liffey's eyes lit up. She didn't interrupt Xiao Yi Xian, instead resting her chin on her hand and waiting expectantly.

"Liffey, this is something I'm only telling you. You absolutely must not tell anyone else." Xiao Yi Xian pulled Liffey close, her voice hushed.

"Mm! Mm!" Liffey nodded eagerly, her eyes practically blazing with gossip fueled excitement. She assumed Xiao Yi Xian was about to spill the beans about some handsome mercenary.

"Today, while I was gathering herbs, I found a cave at the base of a cliff…"

"Wha " Liffey gasped, ready to exclaim, but Xiao Yi Xian quickly clamped a hand over her mouth, muffling her cry.

"Is it… a treasure?" Liffey whispered, her eyes sparkling. She had heard plenty of stories about people falling off cliffs, discovering an inheritance, and using it to defeat their enemies.

"Most likely…" Xiao Yi Xian's lips curved into a slight smile, clearly enjoying Liffey's captivated expression. That look of awe and excitement brought her a great deal of satisfaction.

Liffey's eyes brightened further at Xiao Yi Xian's confirmation. But soon, her brows furrowed as she bit her lip, her gaze flickering as though deep in thought.

Immersed in her own sense of fulfillment, Xiao Yi Xian didn't notice her assistant's unusual behavior. Instead, she began considering when to visit the cave. Perhaps she might gain an inheritance herself and become a peerless expert.

Outside the window, Lu Bu stood silently, observing everything. Xiao Yi Xian, dressed in a white dress, looked delicate and enchanting, her demeanor fresh and pure, like a spring breeze.

She was a rare beauty, with a slender waist that seemed like it would fit perfectly in one's hands. Just imagining wrapping his arms around her was enough to make Lu Bu think it'd feel amazing.

Of course, he was only imagining. After all, Lu Bu had ambitions to become a Dou Di. He wouldn't let himself be distracted by mere lust. Shaking off the thought, he stepped forward and walked into the pavilion.

Sensing someone suddenly enter, Xiao Yi Xian raised her head, her delicate brows furrowing in slight annoyance as she prepared to reprimand the intruder.

However, her words caught in her throat. Her beautiful eyes lit up, and she parted her lips slightly before breaking into a smile.

"Dear sir, have you come to the Ten Thousand Medicines Pavilion because you're feeling unwell? Would you like me to diagnose you?"

Lu Bu: "…"

Sigh. Being handsome really is a curse. Even trying to act cool is difficult.
