Trillionaire's Slice of Life
Chapter 398: The Girl Like a Fairy
As time reached the end of December, before I knew it, the new year had quietly arrived. With the new year came a fresh start, and it also meant that there were less than fifty days until the Lunar New Year.
In the big cities, the flavor of the New Year could no longer be felt, but this year was special because I had obtained an unlimited credit card. In just this short span of half a year, Chu Mo had undergone earth-shattering changes. In the past, the New Year merely meant going home to reunite with family for a few days, where the time was mostly spent in small talk and eating and drinking.
But this year, Chu Mo planned to spend a different kind of New Year. He intended to take his parents on a trip to Paradise Island. Located near the equator, it was still pleasantly warm there, even now in winter. And since getting Paradise Island, he had never set foot there.
Therefore, he planned to take the opportunity during the New Year to visit the island with his parents and thoroughly enjoy life.
In early January, the temperature in Shanghai was very low. Normally, Chu Mo would choose to stay in his villa, enjoying life with the air conditioner on and attended by a dozen maids.
Today's sun was exceptionally bright, and the warmth on his skin was a rare and comfortable feeling. Having been cooped up in the villa for a week, Chu Mo finally couldn't contain his restlessness and stepped out of his shelter.
He had recently taken up his hobby of writing again, so when leaving the house, he brought his notebook with him, ready to write whenever inspiration struck.
Since he was going out to clear his mind, Chu Mo didn't take the Maybach but instead drove his own supercar worth hundreds of millions in RMB, cruising alone through the bustling streets of Shanghai.
He didn't have any particular destination in mind. He just drove aimlessly, the roar of the supercar echoing continuously through the streets and alleys of Shanghai, occasionally drawing the adoration and photos from some boys or an audacious girl's beckoning wave.
Chu Mo naturally ignored these people. He just kept driving on his own until, an hour later, the car finally stopped in front of that familiar coffee shop.
Today wasn't a weekend, and there weren't as many customers in the coffee shop as the last time he visited. Fortuitously, his favorite spot by the window was empty. With notebook in hand, Chu Mo took his seat and ordered his usual Blue Mountain coffee, then quietly stared out the window.
In the past, he would visit this place every week, not so much because he loved coffee but because he loved the peaceful and serene atmosphere. Often, with just one cup of coffee, Chu Mo could sit there all day without changing his position.
Back then, he had to rack his brains every day to write an article in order to meet his deadlines. Sometimes, when inspiration was lacking, he would sit at this very spot, gazing at the throng of vehicles outside the window and the hustle and bustle on the streets. Sometimes, a passing figure or even a falling leaf could become the material and inspiration for his writing.
Nowadays, he no longer needed to hustle for survival, but he didn't want to give up his writing habit that he had maintained for over a decade easily. Writing had become his dream, a part of his life.
The sunlight outside the window reflected through the glass of the building opposite, casting light into the coffee shop. Amidst a gentle English song, Chu Mo's mind began to empty, and his thoughts stretched long as he entered the focused state he often found himself in while creating.
But just as a spark of inspiration hit him and he opened his notebook, a dazzling figure suddenly appeared at the window in front of him.
It was a beautiful woman dressed in a white down jacket. She wore low-heeled boots, dressed in the most common denim jeans, and her somewhat bulky coat concealed her graceful figure. The woman turned heads not only because of her remarkable beauty but also because of her long hair that flowed down to the ground like the wind.
It was the girl from the bar he had met before, who had been celebrating her birthday. Chu Mo had a good impression of this girl from before, and seeing her again now, an indescribable feeling suddenly flashed through his heart.
This sense of deja vu and intimacy caused Chu Mo to close his notebook. His gaze fixated on her figure until the graceful woman slowly disappeared from his view.
Unfortunately, the other party did not respond to his anticipation upon stepping into the café.
Chu Mo sat silently in the coffee shop for a moment, feeling as if there were cat's paws in his heart, making it impossible for him to settle his mind, much less have any inspiration to write articles. A moment later, after a deep breath, Chu Mo picked up his notebook and stood up to leave.
He arrived at the entrance of the coffee shop and casually tossed his notebook into the supercar, with at least twenty to thirty bodyguards following behind him, ensuring there was nothing for him to worry about.
He didn't take his car but instead walked briskly forward. A minute later, when he arrived at a traffic light, the dazzling figure in front of him clearly appeared before his eyes.
Chu Mo didn't know why, but for the first time, he found himself interested in a completely unknown girl, perhaps because of her long, flowing hair that touched the ground or perhaps because of her pure and stunningly beautiful face.
Chu Mo quickened his pace and gently approached her, but as he neared her, he suddenly realized he had absolutely no reason to strike up a conversation. He was not adept at the game of love; he had chased Zhou Yuanyuan, the beauty of the University of Science and Technology, for months without success, which could be said to show a low EQ.
If not for having an unlimited bank card, causing many girls to chase after him, he might still be a virgin for all we know.
However, as Chu Mo hesitated, the red light turned green, the road opened up, and the girl in the white down jacket walked away again.
Chu Mo stood there stunned for a moment, then took a deep breath and followed the girl at a leisurely pace once again.
His brain began to work. Chu Mo remembered that the girl in front of him seemed to have introduced herself before, her name appeared to be Yu Jun.
In the top families of the Magic City, there were none with the surname Yu, but given that she could gather with the likes of Lin Feng and other top tycoons, it could be assumed that her status was not simple, and her family was probably worth at least several billion RMB.
Despite the abundance of wealthy people in the Magic City, with top tycoons aplenty, a family fortune of several billion would still be considered very wealthy.
Chu Mo took out his mobile phone, found Jiang Tao's number, and was about to call him to ask for information about the Yu family in the Magic City. But after a second thought, he decided against it.
He was not familiar with her, and making any rash move might only annoy her.
Chu Mo quietly followed her, and about ten minutes later, she walked into a park, and Chu Mo followed suit. He had lived around here for several years and was very familiar with this park, often coming here to seek inspiration.
The bustling streets around them gradually gave way to little bridges over running water and shaded green trees. Due to the weather, most of the flowers had withered, detracting considerably from the park's scenery!
Walking slowly along the man-made river, when the girl's figure paused in front of a secluded pavilion, Chu Mo took a gentle breath, then walked towards the pavilion as well.
It was now the afternoon; the slanted sunlight of the post-noon hours bathed him in a comforting warmth, and as a breeze came, stirring ripples on the surface of the river, it also lifted the long, flowing hair of the girl in the white down jacket, who slightly raised her cheeks.
In that moment, Chu Mo narrowed his eyes and, in his view, the girl with her flowing hair seemed to transform into a sprite, her beauty ethereal and untouchable.
