[TS] Starting the Broadcast

Chapter 11 - New Ability

“Xerath! Xerath has appeared. The hero that became the first connection between the two BJs! Then perhaps Hani-nim also… unfortunately, it’s not Nocturne. It’s Annie. AP mage heroes will fiercely clash!”

I had roughly expected Mia to bring out Xerath.
Lulu, Soraka, Yuumi, Morgana, Nami, Thresh, Karma, and Xerath were her main picks, but they were all a bit awkward to use in a 1:1 match.
If I were a mid laner, I would have prepared Fizz, the traditional counter.
But unfortunately, I’ve never handled Fizz.
It seemed difficult to deal with using jungle heroes like Zac, Elise, Kindred, or Nocturne unless Mia made a big mistake.
That’s why I chose Annie.
The AP nuker boasting the most powerful burst!
Generally, people think Xerath has the advantage due to the huge difference in skill range, but that’s only at lower levels.
The moment level 6 is reached and ultimate is unlocked, unless Xerath has Cleanse or Barrier, he’ll be standing on the border between this world and the next with Annie’s combo of ultimate + Ignite + Q + W.
If you chip away at his health a bit beforehand, he’ll die to the above combo without a chance to dodge.

“Both of you chose Doran’s Ring and 2 potions as items. Mia-nim chose Comet as her keystone rune, while Hani-nim chose Electrocute. Certainly, Electrocute is good if you’re aiming for a one-shot with Annie.”

Their intentions are blatantly revealed.
Additionally, Hani took Ignite and Flash as summoner spells.
Mia took Barrier and Flash.
‘As expected… Barrier? That’s a bit disappointing.’
Certainly, Barrier is a perfect match for the squishy Xerath.
Thinking it might not be as easy as expected, I focus on the game.

“Mia-nim took W at level 1. This seems to be to increase the success rate of harass even a little, but Hani-nim is not backing down either. She’s not dodging. Rather, she boldly advances, taking the skill hit and retaliating with Q. She even mixes in auto-attacks using her long attack range. With this, considering the Comet rune as well, a similar trade has occurred.”

Because I took Electrocute, I could choose Taste of Blood and Ravenous Hunter in the secondary tree.
Thanks to this, I recover a bit of health even while trading.
Noticing this fact, Mia starts aiming for one-sided attacks with Q skill from long range rather than W.
At that moment, both reach level 3, and a circular aura surrounds Annie’s body after using skills 4 times.

“Annie’s passive has activated. It’s a good passive that stuns enemies hit by the next skill attack after using skills 4 times. With this, Xerath will have to be a bit cautious.”

It’s a psychological battle.
The moment Annie’s passive was ready, Xerath tried to create some distance and quickly push the lane.
He’s forcing Annie to use her skill on minions to clear the pushing lane.
Then the passive effect would be wasted on minions.

‘This is just like last time.’
Hani recalled the fiercely contested 1st game.
Although they were evenly matched throughout, Mia ultimately had to taste defeat due to mana shortage.
Although Xerath’s passive has the effect of recovering mana with auto attacks, mage heroes basically suffer from chronic mana shortage until Lost Chapter comes out.
But Annie is a bit different.
The effect of Q skill!
If the target hit by the skill dies, all mana is refunded and the skill’s cooldown is reduced by 50%.
I simply give up on minions that are hard to last hit.
I seal away W skill and only use E skill, which has shield and movement speed increase effects, when it seems impossible to dodge Xerath’s skills.
Due to this strategy, CS gradually tilted in Xerath’s favor.
But conversely, the amount of remaining mana was smiling at Annie.
‘CS? That’s only meaningful if you reach 100 to achieve the victory condition or if you recall to exchange it for items. I never intended to go back in the first place!’

As Mia’s mana was starting to run low, she seemed to be looking for the one-time recall timing allowed.
I can’t miss this chance.
I use even the W skill I had been saving to roughly push the lane.
Mia hesitates.
If she recalls here, about 2 waves of minions will crash into the tower, and the CS difference she had built up will narrow.
It’s regrettable.
Annie managed her mana well, but due to Xerath’s continued poking, her health had fallen below half.
And the current experience state was halfway to level 5.
I calculated that if I cleared one more wave and killed a few more minions, I would hit level 6, and if I landed about 2 skills in the meantime, I could finish with the ultimate.

“It seems like both are trying to decide the match. I wonder what the result will be!”

The situation itself was advantageous for Xerath.
He would reach level 6 a bit faster and had about 2/3 of his health remaining.
But Annie had a powerful burst.
The lane is cleared.
A battle of nerves, looking for each other’s openings.
Xerath’s Q skill lands once again, and Annie’s health drops to about 1/4.
And finally, level 6 is reached.
Xerath’s W skill, Void of Destruction, falls once more.
Annie narrowly avoids it.
But it doesn’t matter.
This was intended to create distance.
As space was secured, Mia didn’t hesitate to use her ultimate.

“It’s a good choice. The lane is pushed, and if she can get the kill with ultimate, it’s best, and if not, she can just recall. With the advantage in skill range, it’s a good strategy she can take. There’s no risk, only return!”

Xerath’s ultimate, squeezing out the last of his mana!
With Annie’s remaining health, if 2 out of 3 shots hit, it’s instant death.
He aims carefully at the dodging Annie to land the hits.
That’s what he thought, but Annie’s choice was the opposite.
She uses E skill to increase speed and rather charges in.
At the same time, the tower kills nearby minions, allowing her to reach level 6.
Slightly increased health. Now all 3 shots need to hit.
At that moment, the flustered Mia hurriedly fired the first arcane barrage of Xerath’s ultimate.
The skill uselessly bombards the ground.
At that instant, Annie reaches point-blank range.
Thinking it’s a kill opportunity, she cancels the skill and uses Flash.
But Annie also followed with Flash, and then a large, blazing bear struck Xerath’s body.
It’s Tibbers, the burning bear.
The Ignite spell sticks to him as well.
It’s hot. But it’s not over yet.
W skill heats up the surrounding air, and Q skill, true to its name, breaks through Xerath’s Barrier spell that had been holding firm.
And on top of that falls the Electrocute rune.
Red lightning shaves off a chunk of health.
It’s dangerous. But there was no mana to resist.
He frantically right-clicks to flee into the tower, but Annie, who followed to the end, uses Q skill that has come off cooldown again and even launches a long-range auto attack.

“Ah… it’s over! The auto attack from Annie was what decided the match by a hair’s breadth! If he had survived and returned, the match would have tilted in Mia-nim’s favor. The item difference would have widened, and Annie without Flash would have had no choice but to slowly wither away.
Flash has a long cooldown.
It’s not lip service, but if it had really turned out that way, the rest would likely have flowed as Lark predicted.
But that’s now an impossible fantasy.
Reality raised my hand high in victory.
And with a perfect and overwhelming 3:0 victory that no one can argue against!

-3:0 like this? That’s crazy, insane.
-Is Hani a god? Is Hani a god? Is Hani a god?
-I came from Mia’s room. Congratulations, this is a gift!

Water balloons burst.
Fan club joins continue intermittently.
The chat window is burning up.
Under Lark’s lead, we heard Mia’s thoughts and then conducted a small winner’s interview.
In the midst of this, the 100-point mission is cleared.
Other small-scale missions are cleared as well.
And above all, since I won 3:0, there will be additional rewards.
A perfect day!
Today, at least, I’m the protagonist.

I gained 100 points.
After clearing the small missions as well, combined with the points I had saved up, it suddenly became 205.
With over 100 fan club members and viewer numbers hitting 400 even if for a short moment, it could really be called a huge success.
And the expected additional reward on top of that!
Surprisingly, the helper gave me choices.
[Game Understanding 2], [Agile Control 2], [Wide Vision 2], [Calm Focus 2]
There were a few more options related to game abilities, but these four were the most worth picking.

Game Understanding is literally an ability that increases overall understanding of the game.
Things like matchups between heroes, how to snowball faster and stronger… It’s commonly called “brain mechanics”, and if I gain this ability, I think there will be development in the brain mechanics side.

Next is the Agile Control ability.
It’s exactly as it sounds.
Control improves.

Wide Vision is considered the ability that suits supports the most. Having wide vision is really a big advantage, but there’s something more tempting, so pass…

Lastly, Calm Focus is good to have like vision, but it’s not the top priority.

Agile Control!
In other words, physical mechanics.
Most people say this.
Brain mechanics, that is, understanding of the game, can be gained through hard work, but physical mechanics are innate.
I agree with that statement.
Hero matchups, you can learn sufficiently after clashing a few times, and with lane management or objectives, as experience accumulates, you get a rough sense even if not perfect.
But physical mechanics were really hopeless.
No matter how hard I tried, the opponent easily dodged my skills, and conversely, I was one-sidedly hit.
What need is there for game understanding or wide vision here?
It’s just one-sided violence due to individual ability differences.
Unless other lanes intervene or there’s a team difference, you have to taste bitter humiliation throughout the game, realizing the difference with your opponent.

That’s why I chose the ‘Agile Control 2’ ability.
The 2 attached at the end is like a level concept.
Usually, a level 2 ability costs about 150 points, so I really lucked out with this Mia match.
‘How much will a level 2 ability be?’
The abilities I currently have are ‘Fatigue Recovery’ obtained with 30 points and ‘Agile Control 2’.
Because the effect of the Fatigue Recovery ability was so minimal, I logged into the game with some worry without even turning on the broadcast.
I wanted to verify the effect of the ability quickly.
With that mindset, I played the game, and ‘Agile Control 2’ had a better effect than I thought.
Skill combos became much more natural, and movements flowed smoothly.
This level of control is only possible on the best condition days while playing League of Legends.
Being able to show that every time, naturally makes me curious about what level 3 would be like.

[300 points are needed to upgrade to Agile Control 3.]

“……”

It’s disappointing, but I fully enjoyed the effect of the level 2 ability.
With this, it seemed like I could aim for Diamond tier without much trouble.
‘Should I just go all-in as a game BJ at this point?’
If I keep raising game-related abilities, it seemed possible to climb not just to Diamond but to Master, or even beyond.
Plus, I could acquire the image of a rare skilled female BJ, so the broadcast would be even more successful.
‘No, what’s important now isn’t game tier. The goal is to grow the broadcast as quickly and largely as possible to acquire a lot of points.’
I guess because I’ve been a Platinum player all my life, I fell into the desire for tier advancement.
Gaming was certainly a big pie in personal broadcasting, but if I only went in one direction, I would eventually stagnate.
It’s not for nothing that well-known game BJs often appear on “visible radio” broadcasts, commonly abbreviated as “bora”.
Viewers always want new stimulation.
Being good at games is nice, but it’s problematic to only play games all the time.
Various charms, like a chameleon.
That was the direction I needed to aim for and move towards.
