Uchiha, a new beginning

Chapter 13: Chapter 13 East Camp

The next morning, I headed to the patriarch's residence, as my departure was in a day, but I still had to submit a written document on how to perform medical ninjutsu.

When I entered the residence, I found Izuna sitting there, carefully reading some documents.

"Young Izuna, I've come to deliver the document." I said this before dropping a truly enormous scroll onto the table.

Seeing the size of the scroll, Izuna's eyes widened. "Wait, all that information is for how to perform medical ninjutsu?" Izuna exclaimed in surprise.

I shook my head. "No, in addition to that, I took the time to explain the jutsu's advantages and disadvantages, as well as summarized some of the experiences and practices I put into creating it."

The next moment, Izuna took the scroll and read it carefully. After about 20 minutes, Izuna's eyebrows twitched.

But after calming down a bit, he sighed and put the scroll aside. "It's complicated, right?" he asked.

"That's right. The practices required to perform the jutsu require great concentration."

"I see. It's a shame, we currently only have 10 ninjas who have agreed to practice this technique," Izuna commented with some discomfort.

We both knew that this jutsu could really turn the tide in a battle.

But the arrogance of most of the clan members prevented them from seeing this clearly.

"Why don't we take the members of the clan who have disabilities and ask them to study this jutsu?"

Such a proposal might be a bit risky, but it seemed Izuna didn't find it unpleasant.

So I left, so he could begin making this change.

...

The next morning, I had left with Lord Isamu, who would be in charge of my safety once I was outside the clan.

This would only be for six months, as after that, I would have to leave my post and be sent to some battlefront.

"I've been wondering, what would the world be like?" I commented to Lord Isamu.

"It's really cruel. If you're careless for even a second, you could drop dead at any moment." I somewhat understood Lord Isamu's response, but I didn't think he would say that to a child.

Mainly because I was a child, but thinking more carefully, I wasn't in a peaceful society.

So it was clear that these kinds of thoughts were common in this era.

Aside from Mr. Isamu's attitude changing radically, I didn't know if this was Mr. Isamu's true attitude.

Although, thinking about it, Fuyuko wasn't much different from when we first met her.

Well, what else could you expect? They're father and daughter.

We didn't speak the rest of the way; these were Mr. Isamu's instructions.

Apparently, it was for protection, since even the tiniest noise could attract some wandering ninjas.

About three hours later, I finally managed to see the clan camp located on the eastern battlefront.

As soon as we tried to enter the camp, about 10 ninjas from our clan surrounded us.

"Identify yourselves." The one who appeared to be their leader spoke. I say this because, unlike the rest, his face was visible, while the rest had their faces covered.

He was about 36 years old, with an athletic build, and his expression radiated experience and calm at the same time.

"I'm Isamu, and this child is Jomei. We're sent by the Patriarch." As he said these words, he reached into his bag, from which he pulled out a scroll.

After reading its contents, he told us to enter immediately and that he would arrange our lodging.

"Excuse me, why were we greeted by so many clan members?"

"It's because of the Yamanaka clan's technique. We received a report of their attack, so we have to take precautions."

Hearing this, I clearly understood that security would have been intensified. Furthermore, this method would be effective against ninjas who had fallen prey to that jutsu. At least after they were put under a genjutsu and forced to tell the truth.

We walked with this person to the tent of the leader of this battlefront.

"Commander Kenji, the people the Patriarch informed us about have arrived." He commented from outside the tent.

"Okay, have them come in." A voice was heard from inside, cold and a bit hoarse.

The ninja who guided us pulled back a part of the curtain, revealing the interior. Inside, we could see an elderly person, at least 50 years old, with white-tinted hair, reviewing some documents.

Mr. Kenji was sitting at a wooden table, which, at first glance, seemed too heavy; the wood looked thick. To one side was a candle, which was currently unlit, but was probably used at night.

After entering the tent, we stood in front of him for about 15 minutes. During this time, he wrote something on a scroll.

"According to what I've been told, you'll be the boy's bodyguard." He was referring to Mr. Isamu. Isamu tersely agreed.

"And you'll be the one to take care of the wounded." Before I could even confirm this, he rubbed his face with his hands and said, "I want to see what your capabilities are." With that, he stood up and led us to an open-air tent where hundreds of wounded ninja from the clan were lying.

Before I even reached the spot, a smell like iron filled my nose, and the sound of the wounded ninjas' groans reached my ears.

At first glance, there were all kinds of injuries, from minor wounds, which were considered superficial cuts, to some who were missing limbs.

Kenji quickly approached a ninja who had a wound on his chest and was bleeding out.

A couple of members of the Uchiha clan, who hadn't awakened their Sharingan, were trying to stop the bleeding.

"Heal him," pointing to the person with the chest wound.

The two people left the area, giving me space to begin working.

I stood next to him and stretched my hands to his chest. Moments later, a green light began to glow in my hands.

This caused the groans of several who were in poor condition to stop for a few seconds.

After a few seconds, the bleeding began to stop. After five minutes, the wound had completely disappeared.

Feeling better, this ninja tried to get up, but my hand stopped him. "Stay in that position for about half an hour," I said. Since the wound had been nearly fatal, although it had healed, I still had to rest for a while to make sure nothing unusual happened.

After a nod, he returned to his position. I turned and looked at Commander Kenji, who had no expression on his face.

"Okay, you can start working. Your residence will be ready by tonight." After he finished speaking, he left the room immediately.

For my part, I just sighed and looked at Lord Isamu, who said, "Don't worry. The commander is like that. If he let you work, it's because he saw that your skills would be useful."

"If that hadn't been the case, do you think he'd make me return to the clan?" Mr. Isamu only confirmed with a nod of his head.
