Uchiha, a new beginning

Chapter 12: Chapter 12 Surprise

The truth is, I wouldn't mind, but I would like a concession, not just monetary, but something that would help me in the future.

So my answer was affirmative. "I wouldn't mind distributing it within the clan, but I would like something in return."

Seeing that I was willing to hand over that technique, Izuna showed a look of happiness. "What would you want in return for this technique?" she asked, a twinkle in her eyes.

At that moment, Izuna looked to me like a wolf seeing a piece of cooked pork. I even thought I saw a bit of his saliva dripping down his chest.

"I would like to go to the battlefield to heal the ninjas who are injured." I said it sincerely. If I could gain access to these people, I could improve not only my understanding of medical ninjutsu, but also my use of chakra.

Although my chakra reserve is slowly diminishing through the use of the jutsus I've learned, it's thanks to practicing this jutsu that I still have a long way to go. Furthermore, if Fuyuko ever develops complications, this would give me the knowledge to intervene.

The faces of everyone present, including Kai and Kotetsu, looked bewildered, but I remained unperturbed nonetheless.

Izuna then turned his head to look at his brother, who nodded. After Madara's confirmation, he sighed and said, "Very well, you will be given permission to go to the battlefield to assist as a medic."

Lord Isamu wanted to object to this, but after the patriarch gave his consent, there was nothing more to do.

"In addition, you will be awarded 1 million Ryo and a monthly salary based on your results. The rest will be awarded 500,000 Ryo," Madara added the next moment.

It's worth noting that this amount wasn't just any old reward; this reward is awarded for the completion of an S-rank mission. At least when the village of Konoha was established.

As for the monthly reward, that's the least of my worries at the moment. Everyone present gasped at the reward, including me.

After finishing what had to be said about us, the three of us left, but it seemed the clan members had more matters to discuss.

When the door opened and we were about to leave, we saw a large number of ninjas in their battle attire.

I even noticed several of them with their hands on the handles of their katanas, but they paid no attention to us. One by one, they quickly entered the room from which we emerged.

However, they wouldn't let us continue there, so we began to walk toward the exit, but in the distance, we could hear some wailing and screaming from inside the building.

After a few minutes, Kai asked the question we were all wondering. "What do you think happened after we left that room?"

"Hmmm," Kotetzu commented, shrugging his shoulders.

"And you, Jomei, what do you think?"

I took a moment to think about what had happened. "Do you remember that only a few ninjas in our clan acted strangely that day?"

"Yes, some of the people mentioned that to me when we were at the hospital."

"Surely that was caused by some clan technique."

"Hrm."

"Yes, Kotetzu, there are probably some of them still in the clan, so they should be arresting them right now."

"But those screams." Hearing this comment, I could do nothing but simply roll my eyes.

...

That same afternoon, I returned to talk to Fuyuko. I told her what was discussed at the meeting, and the response I got was a cold look from her.

"I'm sorry. I know you wanted to go to the front, but I wanted to come and tell you myself, even though I won't be going into combat."

Fuyuko let me finish so she could hit me on the arm. It was a really hard hit.

"I hope so. I'm older than you all. I should have gone before you."

Tears began to fall down her cheeks. "I wanted to tell Kotetzu personally what the front was like."

"I was always behind you in all the training sessions. Now I can't be better than you. I shouldn't have gone to the field..."

At that moment, I hugged her, and she began to cry loudly into my shoulder.

"Fuyuko, you are the best kunoichi I've ever met. I don't think this will diminish your abilities just because of this. You are strong, and I will do whatever it takes to help you recover."

These words calmed her emotions, just a little, but I spent a few more hours talking to her until she finally calmed down.

...

The lights were on in my house, which was strange, at least for me, since I always came home late at night, so I hadn't seen candlelight for a while.

When I opened the door, a shower of papers surrounded me completely. This made me excited for a few seconds, only until I saw everyone I knew gathered at my house.

Kai, Kotetzu, his parents, even Fuyuko and her father. Fuyuko, on the other hand, was on crutches. This surprised me quite a bit, because just moments ago I was with her at the hospital, along with my mother and Kazuko.

In the center was a sumptuous spread of food, while some braceros were on the tables.

"Hey guys, what are we celebrating?" I asked, genuinely surprised by the surprise.

My mother walked up to me and hugged me tightly. "You've earned it, after what you accomplished yesterday."

I thanked everyone for this surprise.

"By the way, Jomei, I heard you're going to the front lines. Is that true?" Kazuko asked.

"Yes, but not as a warrior, but as part of the medical corps." I clarified, so there would be no misunderstandings.

Fuyuko, upon learning this, was surprised, as I had only told her I was going to the front lines, not as a warrior, but I never told her specifically what I was going to do.

At that moment, she felt a little depressed by the words I had said hours earlier, but I quickly noticed, so I placed my hand on her shoulder and smiled.

Kai's mother quickly asked a question. "Since only you're going, does that mean Kai hasn't trained enough to accompany you?" As she said this, she turned her gaze to where Kai was.

His eyes glowed a reddish hue, even though he hadn't activated his Sharingan. This caused Kai's back to turn wet, sending a chill down his spine as he placed his hands on his face.

"No, this was my request, but it's best if both Kai and Kotetzu stay to monitor the recovery of the wounded."

Miya's expression suddenly changed as she said cheerfully, "Then when everyone recovers, my son can go to the front lines, Jojojo."

Kai's mother's words made everyone present burst out laughing.

Thus, we spent an evening filled with laughter and slightly embarrassing conversations about when we were babies.

I thought these embarrassing situations only happened in the other world, but I also remembered that this wasn't just an anime or manga I'd seen.
