Chapter 156: I am combat.
True sound didn't react in any way, for she had long known his nature, and she didn't care. She was willing to be a tool in his ascension as long as it meant she could weave a symphony that echoed through all of time.
Thus attaining true sound.
"I am willing to be your instrument. A eternal tune, that sings symphonies of your glory," she said as she gazed directly into his starry eyes.
Suddenly, something caught their attention. On Apexion's path, a figure started pulsating with the faint aura of a law.
Shing! Shing! Shing!
Apexion gazed down at the figure; it was Alexandra. As he looked at her, a complex emotion flashed in his eyes.
"Congratulations on having your first divine being on your path," said True Sound. Apexion nodded slightly as his gaze penetrated the doom realm.
…
At the same time, in the material realm, in the realm of doom, the ultimate combatant twisted, turned, and slashed with her axe as countless creatures attacked her from all angles.
Slash! Splat!
With each slash, a hundred thousand fell; with each twist, a hundred thousand attacks dodged.
Ahhh! Boom!
"Ahaha! More! More!"
As she battled, she embraced the thrill of combat, and soon a faint transparent crystalline string appeared above her head, it faded in and out of existence, and her aura became chaotic.
Suddenly, she parted her arms and shouted,
[Art of Combat: Mindless Combatant!]
After which her armored spirit stepped outside of her body and turned into a streak of light that obliterated the spirit of every creature it passed.
As for her body, its eyes blank, its muscles swelled, and countless transparent arms holding weapons materialized on its back. It then let out a primal roar laced with savagery,
"DIE!"
After which it recklessly slammed into the enemies around it. Boom! Splat! Who exploded up on impact, and bloomed into blood mist. With each swipe and stab of its weapons, dismembered body parts flew into the air. It was akin to a berserk beast.
As Alexandra's body and spirit wreaked havoc, the crystalline string above flickered in and out of existence at extreme speed.
Shing! Shing! Shing!
Time passed, alexandra stood floated in mid-air. Around her lay countless dismembered corpses, her eyes shining brightly, her bloody cracked armor and purple skin shimmering, and her arms wide open, her blood-soaked hair swaying as she declared,
"I am combat!"
After which, boom! A deafening sound akin to the birth of a realm rang out as the ethereal crystalline string of combat materialized before her. She then grabbed it with her right hand, but,
Splat!
The moment she grabbed it, the flesh off her hands exploded, leaving rune bones.
The reason for this was that inferior creatures were not worthy of touching the divine, and if it weren't for the fact that the divine string was the materialization of her essence of combat, she would have died.
She ignored her hand, her eyes shining brightly with determination, and started twisting and weaving the string.
Twist! Splat! Twist! Splat!
with each weave, a part of her body exploded in to blood mist. However, she remained focused and weaved and weaved; each weave was akin to her banging on the door of the divine, and she would not stop until she broke it down and claimed her rightful spot among superior beings.
Twist! Splat! Twist! Splat!
Soon, an ethereal crown was woven before her. She only needed one more weave to complete it, but she only had the bones of her arms, and her will/spirit, and core remaining; everything else was gone. Her will burned brightly as she roared once again,
"I AM COMBAT!"
"Aaaaaaaaah!"
Twist!
DING!
A ding sound rang out as the crown was finished weaving. It was purple with a C runic symbol at its front. Her spirit, evolutionary core, flashed and fused with the crown, and a second later,
Boom!
The crown trembled slightly before a domain bloomed from it, it instantly enveloped everything within half a light-year. The domain was composed of an ethereal battlefield, with the countless warriors she had killed; they warred furiously, each of them undying and ruthless.
Suddenly, the crown floating at the center pulsed, after which Alexandra materialized under it bit by bit, her crystalline bones, white flesh, and shimmering purple blood.
Cra-crack-cra!
She gazed around while opening and closing her fists; she felt reborn and evolved. Her strength had multiplied by who knows how many times; she could kill her previous self with a glance. It was safe to say she was a completely different creature from before; she was now a divine being.
'I have ascended."
Within her domain, she felt invincible; she was the master of all known combat.
Shing!
Suddenly, a terrifying will seamlessly penetrated her domain and descended upon her, after which a majestic voice rang out,
"What do you see?"
'Master!'
She knelt down and immediately used her ability, and what she saw caused her mind to tremble with terror. She spoke, her voice somewhat shaky,
"I—I saw a nightmarish shadow so colossal that it could tower over a super realm. This shadow opened its mouth wide as it devoured all the creatures that walked your path, including me."
The will froze for an instant before commanding,
"Since you have now become a divine being, it's time for you to lead my armies to the super realms beyond ours. I leave this sliver of will with you just in case you encounter an 8-tier being." After which, the will morphed into an obsidian pendant with a rabbit engraving on it; it didn't say anything about her vision.
"Yes, master!"
She answered, then stood, grabbed the pendant, and used her abilities a few more times before completely vanishing.
…
"That ability? A being at that level sh—" said True Sound, but before she could finish, Apexion interjected,
"Pay no attention to it." After which, he frowned as he contemplated Alexandra's vision over and over again: 'a shadow devouring all the creatures of my path.' Countless ideas and possibilities flashed through his mind.
A few seconds later, two slivers of will flashed from him and appeared on his two betas, Kane and rusty blade; they conveyed an order,
'Spread your path amongst the other arch realms.'
…
He then asked True Sound,
"How far back and how far forward can you hear/see?"
"I can hear about a million years back before the seal stop me; as for the future, about the same," answered True Sound.
Apexion frowned for a second before continuing,
"Can you locate me a forbidden echo?"
"One will appeared in the death arch realm about ten thousand years from now," she instantly answered while gently tapping her path. She then continued, "Do you want me to take you there?"
"No!" answered Apexion. After which, he turned into his handsome humanoid form, clad in simple white garments, but his glowing source crown and fate star that floated behind him showcased his glory and authority. He then vanished without a trace.
True Sound gazed at his vanishing figure; countless unknown thoughts flashed through her eyes. she then gazed upwards, her gaze landed on the source of the light that shone down on the ocean. A second later, she retracted her gaze and also vanished, reappearing back in the Hanging Trees domain.
She walked to the wooden table; a shimmering chair materialized behind her, and she sat down.
Theodore appeared behind her and stood like a shadow, after which a chess piece in the form of a musical note appeared in her right hand, and she gently placed it on a specific spot on the billion-layered chessboard.
Tap!
"If you guys don't mind."
The Lustful One immediately said,
"It's my pleasure."
The Hanging One remained silent for a second before saying in a kind tone,
"No, not at all; it's my honor to play a game of the minds with the noble True Sound."
After which, he moved a chess piece.
"The honor is mine, oh primal general of the end. I have heard countless symphonies of your doing throughout my travels, and I must say I am impressed," replied True Sound as she also moved her piece.
Tap!
"doing things which can even impress you? I'm eager to hear." The Lustful One's eyes sparkled with curiosity, and he also made a move.
…
Meanwhile, Apexion calmly walked through the False Apexion realm with his hands behind him. With each step, he crossed the distance of a shocking billion light-years.
As he walked, his starry eyes darted around as he sensed something he hadn't before: the False Ascension realm seem artificial; it didn't feel natural like the Ascension realm.
But he really hoped that his senses had sensed wrong because he didn't want to believe that a being had created this realm that overlapped with the entire universe. For how big was the universe? If he had to guess, it would probably be at least a quintillion light-years in diameter.
