Chapter 157: knocked
Apexion's eyes flashed as he took over his lust clone. He then gazed at the hanging tree and asked,
"Did the false realm exist during the primordial era?"
Hearing his question, hanging tree opened his mouth to answer, then paused. His eyes flashed with confusion, then he spoke,
"I don't know. I—I can't remember."
As he spoke, he flipped through the billion of years of memories in his mind over and over again, but still found nothing no indication of whether it was from the primordial era or if it came into being afterward. He then questioned,
"Why did you ask me that question? Is there something off about the false realm that I do not know about?"
Apexion didn't answer and gazed at True Sound, who was seated to the right of him. She gazed back at him and smiled,
"You realized sooner than I thought. I only noticed something when I achieved my current tier… And no, the false realm did not exist during the primordial time.
As for how I know by listening to its symphony even though its notes were old, they certainly weren't old enough to be considered primordial… I would say it came into being just after the Primal War of the End."
After she spoke, a runic ethereal note materialized before them and started humming a tone. He could sense a vast ancient aura from it he estimated about 700 million years.
The primordial era was a billion years ago; the War of the End lasted for 300 million years, so the false realm came into existence about right at the end of the war.
Standing in the false realm, Apexion's mind burned with countless thoughts. An instant later, his fate star started blazing, and he commanded,
"Reveal!"
A giant fate decree stamped into the vacuum around him,
Boom!
The vacuum started twisting and turning like heated plastic about to melt, but right before it could, the will of the universe descended, and the fate decree instantly shattered like glass,
Pash!
At the same time, Apexion felt a sense of extreme danger wash over him. He could tell that if he attempted that once more, the universe's will would instinctively attack him something he currently couldn't bear.
So he calmly took a step and vanished, reappearing a billion light-years away, continuing his journey. As he traveled, he left countless marks in the vacuum.
Time passed. He crossed tens of billions of light-years when suddenly he paused, as his fate star shivered slightly.
Shing!
It signaled him that something karmically tied to him was being revived. His eyes flashed, and one of the strings that made up fate star unraveled one end falling into his right hand and the other stretching into the distance.
He grasped the string tightly, gazed at it intensely, and many images flashed in his eyes images of a lustful and bloody ceremony that would take place a few hours from now. With a slight grin, he commanded, twisting fate,
"Die!"
Bang! A terrifying force bloomed at the end of the string he held and shot toward the other end at extreme speed, akin to a burning candle wick,
Shin!
At the same time, within a galaxy-type realm, tens of trillions of creatures and tens of cosmic civilizations were partaking in a dance so depraved it would scar the spirits of ordinary beings. As they sank, they chanted,
"Oh, Depraved One, you are the one true god of this world, the source of pleasure and ecstasy… please wake up! Wake up! Wake up from your slumber and take charge of the world once again!"
Then, suddenly, an invisible string attached itself to all of them simultaneously, and,
Pash!
Their wills and spirits collapsed.
Whoosh!
The string whipped around the entire galaxy, erasing the faith energy produced, then connected to the galaxy's nexus core,
Crack!
The core instantly shattered, and soon the entire galaxy followed, shattering into nothing.
The then string shot into the distance, Whoosh! and instantly connected to another realm.
Pash! In no time, that realm also shattered.
The string vanished again Pash!repeating the process tens of thousands of times.
After the string destroyed the last realm, it vanished into the false realm and appeared before an altar that bore the image of a tentacled monstrosity. The string then whipped the altar,
Pash!
It instantly shattered, leaving behind nothing but a roar laced with depravity and extreme unwillingness, which faded into nothing an instant later.
"NOOOOO!"
The string twisted for an instant before dimming slightly, then vanished and reappeared before the fate star, fusing with it.
"True death,"
muttered Apexion. He had completely erased all traces of one of his enemies, the Depraved One. Now, unless an entity defy time and pull him from the past, there was no coming back for him.
He turned in the direction of the exit of the Arch Realm and vanished. He traveled for trillions of light-years before coming before a visible barrier within the False Ascension Realm the first of its kind he had ever encountered. This barrier was what separated the Arch Realms.
He stretched out his right hand and tapped the barrier as he scanned it.
"Impenetrable to anything below a Grand Law,"
he muttered to himself, after which he took a step forward and seamlessly penetrated the barrier.
As he appeared on the opposite end, his eyes shone with wonder as he felt the change in the aura of the false realm around. It was akin to death, far colder and empty compared to his home, the Arch Realm.
"Let's see,"
he muttered as his body came to an absolute standstill. Then, he vanished and reappeared inside the material realm.
The first thing he noticed was that the concept of death was more potent. He could literally see it in the vacuum, in the form of black fog that clouded everything but only those at the 8th tier could see it.
A second later, he felt a repelling force envelop him, forcing him out of the material verse. His body pulsed with his law as he attempted to resist it which he succeeded in doing. But an instant after, he felt danger, and then,
Ching! Chi-Ching!
Countless ethereal chains formed from laws materialized in the vacuum a million light-years around him. They shot toward him at such speed he could barely react. He instantly cracked the universe's speed limit and vanished, reappearing in the false realm.
The moment he vanished, the chains flickered around as if they were searching for him, then disappeared a second later, after unable to sense his presence.
Ching!
Standing in the false realm, his mind flashed with confirmation: Law chains manifested the universe's will something I currently can't confront.
His eyes flashed. A transparent version of him appeared it was his projection. It vanished and reappeared inside the material realm.
The projection then turned into a streak of black light and shot in a certain direction. As it traveled, it observed the cold and lifeless, purple and red colored superclusters.
The countless diverse creatures within some pure skeletons, some humanoid with octopus-like heads, some eight-headed dog-like beings. Each one pulsed with the path of death.
In some of these realms, he sensed the presence of multiple 7th-tier beings, but they didn't sense him, for he was concealed.
Soon, he arrived directly before a crimson super realm cluster. He scanned it for a second as his fate star pulsed slightly.
"This one"
his eyes narrowed as he gazed at the realm barrier.
He could shatter it and enter, but that would cause too much disturbance disturbance that might alert the supposed owner of this arch realm, the Death Path Finder, an entity he was sure he couldn't face yet.
Many thoughts flashed through his mind. He then raised his right hand and gently knocked on the realm barrier, as if knocking on a door, while whispering,
"Let me in! Let me in!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
At the same time, in a specific realm inside the super realm, hundreds of creatures below the 4th tier suddenly froze as a knocking sound echoed in their minds like an ancient bell, along with an incomprehensible voice that compelled them to worship and let in the god that was knocking.
They also saw illusions in which their deepest desires came true some became gods and ruled their realms in tyranny, some met the Pathfinder of the Death Path, some saw their dead loved ones come back to life.
A second later, they snapped back to reality. Their hearts pulsed with shock and terror.
Some were confused about what had just happened and ran into hiding, thinking they were under attack but soon they would come to realize that hiding was futile for their spirits had been compromised.
Some knew they had been polluted by an Outer God. They knew they should report their situation to the elders and ancestors of their clans but the allure of their greatest desires coming true was too great.
They felt this was an opportunity they could not give up. So they hid their situation and began to prepare the key to open the door to their god.
