Chapter 754: Make It Fast
Villain Ch 754. Make It Fast
"Where shall we meet?" Azura inquired, her hand still firmly covering Emma's mouth to prevent any more slip-ups.
"How about Eyon Village? It's more peaceful there," Allen suggested, his voice calm and decisive.
"Okay," Azura agreed, nodding in agreement. "We'll meet at the gate," she confirmed, already planning their rendezvous point in her mind. "What's your character name?"
"Al," Allen replied succinctly, his response brief but to the point.
With the details sorted out, Azura withdrew her hand from Emma's mouth. Azura made her way over to the sofa where Allen was seated, a sense of anticipation coursing through her veins.
Once she settled onto the sofa beside Allen, she reached for one of the VR devices. With practiced ease, she placed the device over her head, adjusting the straps until it fit snugly in place. She could feel the familiar weight of the device pressing against her temples, a tangible reminder of the virtual world that awaited her. Discover stories with empire
Beside her, Allen mirrored her movements, reaching for his own VR device. But as he slid the device over his head, he paused halfway, his gaze shifting to Emma's disgruntled expression.
Without uttering a word, Emma moved her lips silently, her message clear 'Make it fast.'
Allen's lips moved in response. 'I will try.' Then, he adjusted his VR device until it was securely in place, logging in.
He felt a familiar sense coursing through his veins. The virtual world materialized around him, and he found himself standing in the meeting room where he had left his avatar last time. The room was bathed in a soft, ambient light, casting a warm glow over the sleek furnishings and elegant décor.
To his surprise, Vivian and the others were still there, engaged in lively conversation. They turned to him as soon as they noticed his presence, their chatter fading into a silence. It was clear he had interrupted their discussion. It was a short discomfort silence before Shea opened her voice.
"How is it?" she asked without skipping a beat, diving straight into the conversation.
"I got it sorted. We're meeting up at Eyon Village," Allen replied, his tone brisk and to the point. "We've got ten minutes, so make it snappy," he added, issuing a quick directive before hurrying off to the portal room.
With a sense of urgency, Allen darted through the corridors. Along the way, he activated his Disguise skill, seamlessly blending into his surroundings as he raced against the clock.
Once he reached the portal room, Allen wasted no time in selecting Eyon Village as his destination. He stepped through the portal, the familiar sensation of teleportation washing over him as he was transported to his chosen location. Moments later, he found himself standing at the gate of Eyon Village.
Unlike the bustling cities he had grown accustomed to, Eyon Village exuded a sense of tranquility and calmness that was palpable in the air.
The village streets were devoid of the usual hustle and bustle, with only a few players milling about, their movements relaxed and unhurried. The absence of big guild members and high-level players was noticeable, their absence leaving the village feeling strangely empty. Most of them had migrated to the cities to immerse themselves in the latest guild politics and relax in the vibrant cityscape.
The sky above was clear and unobstructed, the sun casting a warm glow over the picturesque landscape. Birds chirped merrily in the trees, their melodic songs adding to the peaceful ambiance of the village.
The market square was eerily quiet, with only a handful of vendors peddling their wares to the few players who remained.
Despite the relative emptiness of the village, Allen found himself drawn to its tranquil charm. He welcomed the opportunity to escape the chaos of the cities and immerse himself in the serene beauty of Eyon Village.
Allen stood at Eyon Village's entrance, his eyes scanning the peaceful surroundings in search of Azura. However, she was nowhere to be found. With a shrug, he decided to make the most of the situation and take a moment to soak in the serene atmosphere of the village.
He made his way over to a nearby bench and settled onto it, allowing himself to relax and enjoy the view. Eyon Village was a place he rarely visited, but he couldn't deny the appeal of its tranquil setting. The lush greenery and charming buildings created a picturesque scene that was a welcome change from the bustling cities he was accustomed to.
The gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze, the chirping of birds in the trees, and the distant sound of running water all added to the peaceful ambiance of the village.
'This place is surely nice,' he thought to himself, a faint smile playing on his lips.
But when that thought just crossed his mind, he couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed several mid-level players glancing in his direction.
He shifted uncomfortably on the bench, trying to ignore their scrutiny, but he could feel their eyes boring into him. A knot formed in his stomach as one of them pointed in his direction, prompting a surge of anxiety to wash over him.
'I have a bad feeling about this,' Allen thought to himself, suppressing a cringe as he avoided their gaze. He could already guess what they were thinking and talking about, and he wasn't sure he liked it. Unfortunately, he couldn't leave before meeting up with Azura, so he braced himself for whatever was to come.
Sure enough, two of them, a tank and a healer, broke away from the group and approached him with tentative smiles. "Hey there, sir. Mind if we have a quick word?" The tank initiated the conversation, his tone friendly but cautious.
"We're short on DPS for our group. Would you be interested in joining us?" the healer chimed in, her expression hopeful as she awaited his response.
