Chapter 36: Chapter 36
The Kyuubi, though sealed, was far from stupid. Over the years, it had spent countless hours reflecting on its existence, its imprisonment, and the humans who had trapped it. It had seen the rise and fall of countless shinobi, including the Fourth Hokage, Namikaze Minato.
Minato was a man of contradictions. To the world, he was the "Yellow Flash," a hero who had saved Konoha during the Nine-Tails' rampage. To his students and comrades, he was a kind and gentle leader, a man who embodied the Will of Fire. But the Kyuubi knew better. Minato was also a shinobi—a killer who had emerged from the blood-soaked battlefield. His kindness was reserved for his own people, and his actions were always calculated.
The Kyuubi had no doubt that Minato, meticulous and strategic, had left behind more than just a seal. There had to be a contingency plan, a failsafe to ensure that Naruto, his son, would be protected. That was why the Kyuubi had suggested Naruto try to break the seal. It was curious to see what Minato had hidden within it.
Naruto stood in the sealed space, his mind racing as he pieced together the puzzle of his origins. The Kyuubi's words had sparked a realization, and now the pieces were falling into place.
"So, my parents were the ones who sealed you," Naruto said, his voice calm but laced with a hint of bitterness. "That makes sense. The Uzumaki clan is known for their sealing techniques, and there aren't many of us left in Konoha."
The Kyuubi smirked, its massive form leaning back as it watched Naruto with interest. "Go on, kid. What else have you figured out?"
Naruto's eyes narrowed as he continued. "The first Nine-Tails Jinchuriki was Uzumaki Mito, the wife of the First Hokage. She was a master of sealing techniques, and her power was unmatched. The second Jinchuriki… I don't know much about her, but I do know that the Fourth Hokage's wife was Uzumaki Kushina."
He paused, his gaze sharpening. "The Uzumaki clan was nearly wiped out, and Konoha took in the survivors. But now, I'm the only one left. The Fourth Hokage and his wife died on the night of the Nine-Tails' attack, and I was born that same night. Coincidence? I don't think so."
The Kyuubi's smirk widened. "You're smarter than you look, brat."
Naruto ignored the jab and pressed on. "I have the same blond hair as the Fourth Hokage, the same last name as his wife, and I was born on the night they died. It's not a coincidence. I'm their son, aren't I?"
The Kyuubi's laughter echoed through the sealed space. "Bravo, kid. You've figured it out. But tell me, how does it feel to know your parents were heroes, and yet you've been treated like a monster your whole life?"
Naruto's expression darkened. "It feels like a betrayal. The Fourth Hokage was supposed to be a hero, a man who protected the village. But he left me to suffer, to be hated by the very people he died to protect. Why? Why would he do that?"
The Kyuubi's grin turned sinister. "Why don't you ask him yourself?"
Naruto's hand reached out toward the seal, his fingers brushing against the intricate patterns that bound the Kyuubi. As he did, a warm, golden light began to emanate from the seal, filling the space with a soft glow. The Kyuubi's eyes widened in surprise as a figure materialized beside Naruto.
It was a man with blond hair and bright blue eyes, his Hokage robes pristine and his expression gentle yet sorrowful. Namikaze Minato had arrived.
"Naruto," Minato said, his voice filled with a mixture of pride and regret. "You've grown so much."
Naruto turned to face his father, his emotions a whirlwind of anger, confusion, and longing. "You… you're really here."
Minato nodded, his gaze softening as he looked at his son. "I am. I've been waiting for this moment, hoping you'd find the strength to reach out to me."
Naruto's fists clenched at his sides. "Why? Why did you leave me like this? Why did you let them hate me?"
Minato's expression turned pained. "I never wanted this for you, Naruto. I wanted you to be seen as a hero, as my son. But the village… they were afraid. They didn't understand. I thought sealing the Kyuubi within you would protect the village, but I didn't anticipate how they would treat you."
Naruto's voice trembled with anger. "You didn't anticipate? You were the Hokage! You should have known what would happen! You left me alone, to be hated, to suffer… Do you have any idea what my life has been like?"
Minato reached out, his hand hovering over Naruto's shoulder as if unsure whether to touch him. "I'm sorry, Naruto. I truly am. I made a mistake, and I've regretted it every day since. But I want to make it right. I'm here to help you, to guide you."
Naruto stepped back, his eyes blazing. "Help me? Guide me? It's a little late for that, don't you think? I've had to figure everything out on my own. I've had to survive, to fight, to prove myself, all while carrying the weight of your legacy."
Minato's shoulders slumped, his regret palpable. "I know I can't change the past, Naruto. But I can help you now. You're stronger than you realize, and you have a destiny far greater than anyone could imagine. Let me help you fulfill it."
Naruto stared at his father, his emotions warring within him. Part of him wanted to scream, to lash out at the man who had abandoned him. But another part, a smaller, quieter part, longed for the connection he had been denied his entire life.
Finally, he took a deep breath and nodded. "Fine. But this doesn't mean I forgive you. Not yet."
Minato smiled, a sad but hopeful expression on his face. "I understand. And I'll do everything in my power to earn your trust."
The Kyuubi, watching the exchange with a mix of amusement and curiosity, let out a low chuckle. "Well, this is touching. But let's not forget why we're here. Naruto, you've got questions, and your dear old dad has answers. So, what's it going to be?"
Naruto turned to the Kyuubi, his resolve hardening. "I want to know everything. About the Uzumaki clan, about Konoha, about my parents… and about how I can break free from this prison."
Minato's expression turned serious. "Then let's begin."
