Though knew that there would be danger waiting for him down there, Lin Fan knew that this danger was less than remaining up here.

By floating up there, he would be attracting more attention than he wanted.

He would be visible from quite the distance and at the same time, it would mean that he was out in the open. As long as someone wanted to, they would be able to do what they wanted to him.

Once he came closer to the ground, he could sense the overwhelming death energy that came from it.

This was clearly the source of the death energy that was in Death Valley, only it didn't explain what this place was or where this death energy came from.

The place that Lin Fan landed was right in the middle of the woods. He didn't dare head towards the buildings that were in this place since he had no idea what this place even was.

It was unknown if there were people that lived here in the first place.

Even if there was, he didn't want to find them without more information.

When he landed, he was able to find more information than he expected. That was because just the trees that were around him were not simple trees.

This was a place where the death energy concentration was even greater, so it was only natural that the things that were here were even more special. The trees that were here were all trees that had absorbed enough death energy to mutate.

As soon as Lin Fan landed, there was a wave of death intent that came at him.

The trees took him as prey since he had hid his power to avoid standing out. They didn't hesitate at all to attack him, it was as if they were doing it on instinct.

It was the instinct to devour what was weaker than them.

Only Lin Fan wasn't actually weaker than them, he was just hiding his strength. In fact, Lin Fan was much stronger than them.

It was surprising that these trees were able to use death intent while they were only in the Peak Foundation Realm, but that was it.

They were just in the Peak Foundation Realm.

The death intent they released was powerful for the Foundation Realm since it was one of the major intent, but that wasn't enough to close the gap.

Lin Fan watched them for a bit before raising his fist and punching out.

Where he punched, there was a suction force that was released.

This was the power of the black hole that was inside of his dantian.

Once it was released, the death intent that they released was immediately swallowed by the power of the suction force.

It even seemed to rip the air a bit with how strong the suction force was. But that disturbance soon disappeared and it seemed like everything returned to normal.

It was just that there wasn't a single thing that was left in the space where the spatial rip had been. Even the spiritual energy had been ripped out of the air by that spatial distortion.

The trees didn't dare to do anything after that.

It was as if they realized just how weak they were compared to this human in front of them.

At the same time, Lin Fan didn't do anything. He just stood there with a calm look on his face, but it didn't seem like he was looking at anything in particular.

That was because he was focused on something that was happening inside of him.

In his dantian, there was this strange thing that appeared.

It was a ball of death energy.

This was the death energy that came from the death intent that the trees released.

It seemed that when the spatial distortion that he released absorbed the death intent, it actually pulled it into his dantian and condensed it like this.

The most shocking thing was that it seemed that as long as he willed it, he would be able to pull the death energy out. It was as if he had subdued the death energy of the death intent forcing it to become his own.

When Lin Fan finally reacted, the first thing that he did was raise his hand again and pull out the death energy. It formed a ball of death energy in his hand that he could release at will.

With a wave of his hand, he sent that death energy at the trees in front of him.

Since this death energy was now controlled by him, it was enhanced as well. It was much stronger than when it was released as death intent by the trees.

The trees knew that as well, so they all worked together to release their power to resist this death energy that was coming at them. This created another wave of death intent that came out.

Only Lin Fan was ready for this.

He had used one hand to create the wave of death energy, that meant that he had another hand that was still free. That other hand came up and formed a fist that he used to suddenly punch out with.

The same thing happened where there was a suction force that appeared because of that punch from Lin Fan.

That suction force came in front of the death energy that he released and absorbed the death energy from the death intent released by the trees.

That cleared the way for the death energy that he released to hit the trees without anything stopping it.

The trees did their best to resist this death energy, but it really was hard since it was much stronger than any form of death energy that they had encountered before. They just couldn't resist it at all as it started wilting their already dried branches.

In the end, the trees were completely eroded by the death energy that Lin Fan released.

However, it didn't seem like he was happy about this.

That was because after using the death energy inside of his dantian, he found that even though there was another mass that was in his dantian because of the new death intent that he absorbed, the portion that he used was gone.

It seemed that the absorbed death energy was something that was only temporarily being held inside of his dantian.

Once it was used, it was used forever.

At the same time, it was unknown if the death energy would remain in his dantian or if it would disappear over time.

So Lin Fan couldn't help feeling a bit disappointed at the death energy inside of his dantian.

Or that was what he felt until he noticed that something was happening.

It was as if there was something that was pulling the death energy that was in his dantian and it wasn't the black hole that was there. It was the connection with the Pet Storage Space.

The death energy that he absorbed was pulled to the opening of the Pet Storage Space and instead of being strengthened like before, it was actually pulled right into the Pet Storage Space to Lin Fan's surprise.

He didn't know what was happening until he opened up the Pet Storage Space and went in.

There was a seed that was floating there in the middle of the air and there was death energy wrapped around it.

From the aura that came from the seed, Lin Fan immediately knew what this seed was.

It was a seed from the Nine Lives Tree.

The Nine Lives Tree had been growing well in the Pet Storage Space with the abundant spiritual energy that was here, so it had actually grown to the point where it was even growing seeds to propagate.

But the Pet Storage Space had actually collected the seed on its own and was now doing this experiment on its own.

Lin Fan was even more surprised by this since the Pet Storage Space shouldn't have done anything like this since the system was still being upgraded. The system should have been functioning at minimal capacity, so it shouldn't have had the ability to do this.

Yet here was the seed floating there in the air surrounded by the death energy.

After watching for a bit, there was finally a change with the seed.

The life energy that came from the seed seemed to disappear as it started absorbing the death energy that was around it. It was as if the death energy had completely overwhelmed the life energy, taking control of the seed.

There was no stopping it as the death energy was completely absorbed by the seed.

When it was over, the seed floated through the air until it reached the opposite side of the Pet Storage Space from the Nine Lives Tree.

That was when it fell into the ground and was planted there by the Pet Storage Space.

Lin Fan had been silently watching this the entire time, so he walked over when the seed was planted.

Narrowing his eyes, he looked carefully at where the seed was planted to see.

Nine Desolation Tree Seed.

It had transformed the Nine Lives Tree Seed into a Nine Desolation Tree Seed.

Even without the system, the Pet Storage Space had taken the death energy and transformed the seed like this.

Lin Fan really couldn't stop the strange feeling from filling him.
