Wizard: From Zero-Circle Wizard to the Omnipotent Lord

Chapter 12: Chapter 12: The Natural Wizard

"Remember, the life seed is the foundation of us natural wizards. You must take good care of it…"

Rosalind's voice was gentle, but before she could finish, her beautiful eyes suddenly focused on a flower in the corner.

The flower was swaying gently as if summoned by some invisible force.

"Hmm?"

Her brow furrowed slightly, and she walked over to the flower with light steps. Her fair hand gently touched the petals, and she closed her eyes.

A moment later, she opened her eyes, her expression turning serious.

"Let's stop here for today. Colin, take Lynn to find the necessary books. I have some matters to attend to and will likely be busy for a while…"

Rosalind, of course, hadn't forgotten that Lynn was a complete newcomer. Every apprentice and wizard in the Furnace had to contribute their part to keep the Furnace running smoothly.

"As for Lynn's work, let him be assigned to my potion garden. Colin, take him around and help him get familiar…"

Rosalind was remarkably efficient, arranging Lynn's affairs in just a few words.

Of course, this was also because the most crucial step in choosing a life seed for Lynn had already been completed. Otherwise, Rosalind wouldn't have been so comfortable leaving everything to Colin.

Watching Rosalind hurry away, Lynn and Colin exchanged a helpless glance.

"Teacher left in a hurry… but now the trouble falls on me."

Colin shrugged helplessly and led Lynn through the living room toward the basement door.

The basement door was tightly shut, with thorny vines wrapped around it, firmly sealing the passage.

"Knowledge and books are the most important treasures for every wizard."

Colin explained while gently knocking on the door. "Of course, only a formal wizard can maintain a sufficiently rich library. We apprentices can only access some basic content. Being able to enter a formal wizard's library is a rare privilege."

Lynn listened carefully to Colin's explanation. Although he was still far from becoming a formal wizard, hearing this information from Colin gave him a better understanding of this new world of wizards.

"Every wizard's library is heavily guarded, but fortunately, the Teacher just permitted us. Let's go down."

Sure enough, when Colin gently knocked on the door, the thorns slowly retracted, and the door opened, revealing a path leading underground.

This wasn't an ordinary staircase but steps woven from thick plant roots. Each root seemed to twist and turn on its own, as if alive.

Lynn's heart tightened, and he guessed that the library must have been designed with extreme care by Rosalind, likely hiding unknown traps and defensive mechanisms.

Under Colin's guidance, Lynn entered the library. Books and flowers intertwined around them, and the space was filled with a faint floral fragrance and the ancient scent of ink as if they had stepped into a sanctuary of knowledge.

Upon entering the underground library, Lynn was amazed by the sight before him.

The collection here was incredibly rich, with rows of books neatly arranged on shelves, each guarded by a unique flower.

These flowers weren't just decorations; they seemed to possess some kind of protective function, giving off a mysterious and formidable aura.

Lynn noticed that only a few shelves had their flowers standing down, clearly arranged specifically for him and Colin by Rosalind.

"Hehehe, little brother, come on, have some fun~~"

"What are you looking at? I'll eat you!"

"Hmph!"

As Lynn followed Colin, his gaze occasionally swept over the flowers guarding the shelves.

Strangely, some of the flowers would suddenly form a pair of eyes, staring straight at Lynn, leaving him momentarily stunned.

They seemed to be communicating with him, and some even swayed gently, as if provoking him.

"Don't mind them. Just treat them like air."

Colin was used to this situation and seemed unfazed by the flowers' antics. He pulled a few books from the shelf and handed them to Lynn.

"Introduction to Natural Wizards."

"From Nature Novice to Lord of the Earth!"

"The Travels of Life."

Lynn took the books, feeling the aura of knowledge emanating from them.

Colin continued to explain:

"Becoming a Teacher's apprentice is indeed a stroke of luck. Those two guys who came with you earlier, even with their backers, wouldn't be able to access so much information directly as you can."

"In the Furnace, if you want resources, you have to work for them. Everyone needs to work, and only by earning Furnace points through work can you exchange them for resources."

Colin flipped through a book as he explained to Lynn,

"However, relying solely on work to earn points for knowledge would take an incredibly long time. The resources needed for wizard apprentices to cultivate also require points. If you spend all your points on books, your progress in cultivation might slow down."

Lynn listened attentively. These explanations about the rules of the Furnace were crucial to him, as he was a complete newcomer who knew almost nothing about this world.

"By the way, aside from work and tasks, points can also be exchanged with magic stones. The ratio is roughly one to one - one magic stone for one point."

Colin paused and turned to Lynn, "If you have magic stones, you can exchange them for points. After all, in the Furnace, magic stones have value but are also easy to steal. Points, on the other hand, aren't as easily lost."

Lynn spread his hands helplessly, indicating that he was penniless, having just entered the world of wizards and not even possessing a single magic stone.

"Sigh, I figured…"

Colin looked at Lynn's expression and couldn't help but smile wryly. "I was hoping to get a little tip from you."

He shook his head and continued,

"But in the Furnace, everyone's work is valuable. If I were guiding and explaining things to other newcomers, I could earn some points or magic stones as tips by the end of the day. But since it's Teacher's orders, I'll have to help you for free."

Despite his words, Colin followed Rosalind's instructions diligently. After helping Lynn collect the books, he began to show him around the living quarters of the Furnace.

Colin's work was meticulous. As he led Lynn around, he explained some of the daily life details of the Furnace and introduced the functions of each area.

Although Lynn felt somewhat lost, hearing these details was still incredibly beneficial to him.

Finally, Lynn's work assignment was settled.

Everyone in the Furnace had to work, even Colin, who was Rosalind's apprentice, had to serve as a receptionist in the processing hall of the living quarters.

Of course, being a receptionist wasn't a bad job; it even required a certain level of skill to handle. Colin didn't seem to mind it.

However, Lynn was, after all, a complete newcomer, entirely unfamiliar with the world of wizards.

Therefore, Rosalind assigned Lynn to work under her direct supervision, both as a form of protection and guidance.
