Wizard: From Zero-Circle Wizard to the Omnipotent Lord

Chapter 17: Chapter 17: The Furnace War

In the potion garden, a week had passed since Lynn became a Second-Level Wizard Apprentice.

Warm sunlight filtered through the greenhouse, and the air was filled with the mixed fragrance of soil and herbs.

"Lynn, being a First-Level Wizard Apprentice is so hard! It's been two months, and I've only barely managed to meditate up to the twenty-first runic character!"

Remi, holding a bunch of herbs in his hand, complained with a look of frustration.

He put down the herbs, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and glanced at Lynn, seemingly hoping for some comfort.

Hearing this, Lynn's eyes flickered with a hint of something unusual, but he quickly masked it, putting on a sympathetic expression and nodding:

"Yeah, it's not easy…"

"This damn meditation technique! You can only meditate twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. Meditating more doesn't help at all it just gives you a splitting headache! Unless you can get your hands on those mental power replenishing potions… but those aren't something we can just use casually."

Remi grew more agitated as he spoke, his tone filled with resentment.

Lynn smiled slightly, continuing to play the role of a silent listener.

However, Remi didn't know that Lynn's thoughts had already drifted elsewhere.

Lynn knew he was a special case.

He was a transmigrator and not the kind who started as a loser he was a genius!

He had long since confirmed that he was a prodigy on the path of wizards. With his relentless effort, hard work, and a little help from his talent, his future was boundless!

Lynn's cultivation journey might have been related to the fact that he had devoured the soul of his predecessor, giving him mental power far beyond that of ordinary people and easily leaving others behind at the starting line.

Therefore, he had entered the Furnace as a First-Level Wizard Apprentice, and with his talent that rewarded hard work, his progress had been astonishingly fast.

He had also encountered bottlenecks in his meditation technique.

But he quickly discovered that, with his talent, as long as he worked hard, he could always break through.

After each meditation session, Lynn could feel his mental power improving. Even though he occasionally experienced headaches, he still found joy in the process.

It was precisely because of this relentless effort that his progress had been so remarkable.

In just two months, he had already broken through to the Second-Level Wizard Apprentice.

Generally, newcomers to the Furnace needed about half a year to become First-Level Wizard Apprentices.

And advancing from First-Level to Second-Level Wizard Apprentice was an even longer process.

For ordinary people, it usually took one to three years to go from First-Level to Second-Level Wizard Apprentice.

As for Third-Level Wizard Apprentices, that was even more difficult. Ordinary people might need five to ten years to reach that level.

Of course, this was from the perspective of ordinary people. As for geniuses, they couldn't be judged by ordinary standards.

For example, there was the genius girl who had become a topic of conversation among many wizards in the Furnace five years ago.

This genius girl had been personally taken in as a student by the Lord of the Furnace, and her talent was extraordinarily powerful.

When she first entered the Furnace, her mental power had already far surpassed that of a First-Level Wizard Apprentice.

She had reached the Second-Level Wizard Apprentice in just one month, broken through to the third level in less than half a year, and then successfully advanced to become a formal wizard in two years.

Having lived in the Furnace for over two months, Lynn had naturally heard stories about this genius girl.

He wasn't directly comparing himself to her.

After all, a student personally trained by the Lord of the Furnace had access to unparalleled resources.

Although Lynn also had his wizard mentor, he still needed to complete Furnace tasks to earn resources, and these resources had to be exchanged with points.

Comparing their conditions directly wouldn't be fair.

Lynn was simply using her breakthrough speed as a reference to estimate his possible progress.

After all, if he could maintain his current speed, his breakthrough time might not be too slow.

It had taken her less than half a year to advance from Second-Level to Third-Level Wizard Apprentice.

Based on this, Lynn estimated that it would take him about a year to reach the Third-Level Wizard Apprentice.

The higher the realm, the longer the time needed for breakthroughs this was something Lynn could understand.

After all, when one first embarked on the path of wizardry, the time required was shorter.

But as one's cultivation improved, whether it was learning spells or exploring knowledge, more accumulation was needed.

The achievements of every wizard were built on a dual foundation of knowledge and power. Relying solely on the accumulation of power was far from enough.

Even bloodline wizards needed to continuously expand their knowledge reserves to form their permanent spell marks and achieve their wizardly accomplishments.

"Knowledge is power…" Lynn murmured in his heart.

Just then, Remi gently patted Lynn and whispered a reminder:

"Lady Sonya is here!"

The potion garden was managed by several wizards, with some Third-Level Wizard Apprentices assisting in experiments or overseeing the vast garden.

Lynn knew that Sonya was not only a Third-Level Wizard Apprentice but also held a relatively high position in this area.

Although Sonya hadn't yet reached the level of a formal wizard, she was already a Third-Level Wizard Apprentice with significant responsibilities.

Her time was extremely valuable, and her appearance in the potion garden must have been due to some task or matter that needed her attention.

When Sonya saw Lynn, she directly waved him over, signaling for him to follow her outside.

"Colin is here to see you."

"Sorry, I've been too busy lately to guide you through the daily life of the wizard world."

As they walked through the potion garden's pathways, Sonya's tone carried a hint of exhaustion, and she sighed.

Lynn noticed that Sonya's complexion had dulled compared to two months ago. Her once radiant face now looked somewhat haggard from overwork.

Lynn knew she wasn't making excuses she was genuinely swamped.

"It's alright, Lady Sonya…"

"By the way, Lady Sonya, I have a question. The books say that spells and our mental power are related, and it seems like the total amount of mental power can be measured…"

Finally having the chance to see Sonya, Lynn eagerly poured out the questions he had accumulated over the past two months.

"Hmm? That's true. Usually, it's after becoming a Second-Level Wizard Apprentice that one starts studying these things…"

Sonya thought for a moment. Seeing Lynn's eagerness to learn, she didn't refuse and instead said:

"You're so eager to learn. If Lady Rosalind knew, she'd be very pleased. As for what you mentioned total mental power, the relationship between mental power and spells the Furnace has specialized testing rooms. You've been working for two months now, so you should have some points saved up. You can go check it out during your time off."

As they walked and talked, they soon left the potion garden.

Just outside the garden, Lynn's senior brother Colin was waiting for him.

Colin didn't avoid Sonya and directly said:

"The Furnace has declared war on the outside world!"
