Work Prophet

Chapter 70 This welcome is too grand

At dawn, Harvin opened his eyes, and his first order of business was to inquire of his attendant, Pike, whether there had been any movements with the army of the Arias Family.

Ever since witnessing the Italian Cannons of the Double Rest Sect, the Alliance Commander had been on tenterhooks for several days, losing his appetite, for fear that the Empire's Valkyrie would suddenly arrive with her troops and set up those one hundred Italian Cannons outside their camp.

Fortunately, judging from Pike's report, his worst nightmare had not materialized, indicating they might scrape through another day unscathed.

Nowadays, Harvin had lost the ambition he had had at the outset and no longer aspired to be the Lord of the Western Territory; he only thought about how he could escape the present dangerous situation and return safely to his own domain.

Harvin then asked Pike, "What is the situation with the other lords now?"

"Many are dissatisfied with your...caution. If this battle is inevitable, then most wish it would happen sooner so that they might return in time for spring planting."

Harvin huffed coldly, "Spring planting? At a time like this, they're still thinking about spring planting. Should it come to fighting, who knows how many will return? For all we know, we might all end up mining for the Arias Family, just like those captured dwarves."

A look of hesitation flashed across Pike's face, which Harvin caught, "What is it? Is there a problem?"

"Actually, the soldiers on night duty last night reported seeing lights in the direction of Teacup Castle."

Upon hearing this, Harvin leapt up from the ground and shouted, "Such an important matter, why didn't you say so earlier?!"

Pike looked somewhat wronged, "I had intended to tell you right at the start, but you asked about the army on the other side as soon as we met."

Harvin realized that his reaction had been somewhat excessive, but he couldn't hide the agitation on his face.

"If those lights weren't set by their own men, it's very likely that it was the Female Winged Clan who took action. Did any of those night watchmen see a dragon?"

"It was too dark at the time, and we are also at a certain distance from Teacup Castle, so they couldn't be certain. However, some said they thought they saw a dark shadow."

Harvin paced back and forth inside the tent, considering that if the Arias Family really suffered a giant dragon attack last night, it might now be an excellent opportunity to launch an assault.

However, Harvin had no clarity about the casualties from last night's attack, nor did he know whether Ireya had been injured or even killed during the assault.

Thinking of this, Harvin grew irritated that the Female Winged Clan had not taken them into consideration at all, never giving them any notice before acting.

While the Alliance Commander was still undecided, he saw another attendant, Torman, rush into the tent, clamoring as he approached.

"A dragon, Lord Harvin, a dragon! It's flying this way!!!"

Upon hearing this, Harvin took two strides in place of three and hurried out of the tent, while outside the tent, many people had already gathered, all looking up towards the western sky.

Harvin followed their gaze and soon also saw a familiar white figure.

He had seen the giant dragon named the White Queen before in Rock Snow City and had a deep impression of it.

And now that the White Queen appeared here, it meant that the Female Winged Clan named Lannita had also arrived.

Although Harvin had many grievances against Lannita, in order to combat those formidable Italian Cannons of the Double Rest Sect and win the upcoming battle, he could only rely on the Female Wing Clan and her giant dragon.

With this in mind, Harvin no longer hesitated and knelt on one knee on the ground, aware that the gesture was somewhat... adulatory, but he knew Lannita placed great importance on it.

The Female Winged Clan wanted those living on the Continent to always remember who the conquerors were, and who the conquered were.

With Harvin leading the way, other noble lords knelt one after another, leaving only a very few still standing, their silhouettes looking forlorn.

Moreover, after struggling for a moment, several of them still knelt before the giant dragon landed, leaving only Kamzi, the Family Head of the Treles Family, standing.

Seeing this scene, Fabrice, who had the closest relationship with him, shouted, "Don't be foolish, you'll get yourself killed."

"I'm not being foolish," Kamzi snorted, "We all owe that girl our lives, and you know it. We agreed to come here to help her on this opportunity."

Fabrice's face changed slightly; he hadn't expected Kamzi to make their private decision public.

If it were just the Alliance Army wanting to attack Green Field, Fabrice wouldn't mind helping Ireya a little in private, passing on some intelligence into the city beforehand, or slacking off in the coming battle.

However, the situation had obviously changed now; that White Dragon was coming from the direction of Green Field, combined with the great fire over Teacup Castle's sky last night.

Fabrice couldn't help but prepare for the worst. If Ireya had already died or the Arias family had surrendered, it would be pointless for them to step out, as it would only lead to their demise.

But Kamzi didn't see it that way; he had not knelt down.

The White Dragon soon reached above the crowd, but unexpectedly, it did not stop and simply flew straight past them.

The strong airflow from its wings caused the noble's cloaks to flutter, and they looked at each other, their eyes filled with confusion.

Fortunately, the White Dragon didn't fly too far away. It turned in the air and dove down once again.

Landing in the open space in front of Harvin and the others.

A female voice came from above, "You don't need to welcome me so grandly."

Harvin answered reflexively, "No, we have all been sincerely looking forward to your arrival..."

He was halfway through his sentence when he realized that she had spoken in the Universal Language and looked up in surprise.

He then saw a young girl in armor sitting on the dragon's back. She had no wings behind her, and at her waist hung a precious sword known as Beast Claw, while a large rabbit emblem was embroidered on her cape behind her.

She looked valiant and formidable.

And behind her was a man in black with a calm demeanor.

Both were familiar to Harvin; they were none other than his opponents—Ireya, the Family Head of the Arias family, and Prophet Merlin from the Double Rest Sect.

The two had so boldly appeared amidst the enemy ranks.

How dare they?

No sooner had this question leaped to Harvin's mind than he found the answer—because of the White Dragon.

With that White Dragon present, unless all the nobles gathered there were willing to throw away their lives, no one would dare attack the two on the dragon's back.

But soon, new doubts emerged in Harvin's heart: that White Dragon was clearly the mount of a Female Winged Clan member named Lannita, so why had it fallen into the hands of the Arias family and the Double Rest Sect?

Where was Lannita now?
