Work Prophet

Chapter 72 Are You That Kind of Person?

The words of the Lady did awaken many people.

The Silver Moon Church had indeed faced multiple disasters in a short period of time. In just two years, the high ranks had been wiped out twice, and now the only High Priest still alive was Quintus.

Yet Quintus had abandoned his post to become a direct student of Merlin.

The Silver Moon Church now seemed to be struggling to protect itself, obviously even less able to protect their believers.

Indeed, when the Black Dragon rampaged through the West earlier, the Silver Moon Church seemed barely capable; they could be described as completely helpless, while the Double Rest Sect shone brightly for assisting Ireya in slaying the dragon.

At that time, everyone generally believed that such a dragon appearing suddenly was already the limit and that there wouldn't be another one afterwards.

Moreover, the West's faith in Pisya dated back thousands of years, and the Silver Moon Church had intricate connections with the various families of the West.

Many nobles liked to send their daughters or younger sons to the Church for education, hoping that they would become Priests someday.

It could be said that the Silver Moon Church had completely integrated with the nobility of the West. Therefore, under normal circumstances, it was nearly impossible to make the families abandon their faith in Pisya.

Until the unexpected happened.

Those from the Winged Tribe suddenly invaded the Bratis Continent and in a matter of months toppled the mighty Red Lion Empire.

Their methods were brutal and their combat prowess astonishing; coupled with the assistance of the giant dragons, they made the imperial nobility, long accustomed to ease, once again feel the threat to their existence.

At such times, connections with the Silver Moon Church became insignificant. They truly needed the protection of the Double Rest Sect more than ever.

The White Dragon under Ireya and Merlin's command was the best proof of this.

The only problem now was that joining the Double Rest Sect also meant becoming complete enemies with the Wing Tribe. Considering the current state of affairs on the Continent, where the Wing Tribe seemed to be on the brink of victory, this might not be a wise decision.

Luckily, Miss Rabbit did not pressure everyone to make a decision immediately, but simply stated,

"Half a month from now, those willing to stand up against the invasion can come to Green Field. Then we can discuss together how to deal with those Wing Tribe invaders and their lackeys."

After speaking, the young lady paid no more attention to the nobles present, mounted the dragon again, and Li Yu patted the White Dragon's neck.

The latter let out a roar of anger, then with a powerful kick of its legs, took off into the sky. The flapping of its wings caused a huge gust of wind that sent those too close into a stumbling disarray.

Harvin and others had to hold on to each other to keep from falling over.

After the young lady and the Prophet of the Double Rest Sect left, everyone felt as if they had just experienced a dream.

Miss Rabbit did not rush back to Green Field afterwards but pleaded with Li Yu to take another spin in the air; she wanted to ride the White Queen a while longer.

Li Yu did not refuse, and so the girl, excited, directed the White Dragon to fly eastward.

Flying, whenever and wherever, is probably one of the innate desires of humans, especially for Miss Rabbit who had never flown in a plane or hot-air balloon.

This was the first time in her life she had the chance to leave the ground and admire her familiar living place from another perspective.

Watching the familiar sights and sceneries shrink beneath her feet, the girl's heartbeat began to accelerate.

She urged the White Dragon to climb higher and higher until they plunged into the cloud layer. Miss Rabbit stretched out a hand, trying to touch the seemingly soft cloud beside her.

But due to excessive excitement, she almost slid off the dragon's back when her body tilted, thankfully Li Yu behind her acted promptly and wrapped her in his arms, preventing the tragedy of her being hung upside down beneath the giant dragon by the safety harness.

Li Yu himself felt nothing in particular; after all, the girl was still wearing her full Armor, and the part of her he touched felt icy cold.

As for Miss Rabbit herself, she shuddered from the sudden embrace, instinctively shrinking away, which nearly caused her to fall off from the other side.

Li Yu couldn't help but remind her, "Hold on tight, don't move around."

The girl nodded hastily, "Mhm, mhm, mhm."

This time she didn't flee in disarray, but instead moved a bit closer to Li Yu. Even though Li Yu had already released the hand that was holding someone, he still felt like a lump of heavy iron clinging to him, getting tighter and tighter.

It didn't take long before she started to sway from side to side.

"Are you okay?" asked the Prophet of the Double Rest Sect.

"I'm okay, just feeling a little dizzy," panted Miss Rabbit.

"We might be flying too high, let's lower the altitude a bit," said Li Yu.

"No," the girl shook her head, "It took so much effort to come up here, I want to stay a little longer."

"But your body is already reacting."

"It's fine, as long as you hold me like before," Miss Rabbit said, revealing her intentions.

But Li Yu didn't refuse and extended his hand to hug the girl's waist again.

Miss Rabbit's face broke into a joyous smile as the two, together with the White Dragon, passed through the clouds to emerge above the sea of clouds, and the world seemed to quiet down in an instant.

The girl was deeply shocked by the beauty before her, and it took her a long time before she sniffed and said.

"Hey, Merlin, if we keep flying up, can we reach the Divine Country of Saturday?"

"No," said Li Yu, "The Divine Country of Saturday is not located above the Continent."

"Then what is above?"

"The cosmic galaxy, but with our current technology, we can't reach there yet."

"What about the people of the Wing Tribe?"

"They can't either, because there is no oxygen above."

"What is oxygen?"

"It's a component of the air, what we rely on breathing every day is to inhale oxygen," explained Li Yu.

"You know so much," said Miss Rabbit sincerely, "It feels like there's nothing in this world you don't know about. Unlike me, we've been together for so long, but I barely understand you, I don't even know your real name."

The girl sounded a bit deflated when she said this.

"What would you like to know about me?" asked Li Yu.

"Let's start with your name. Merlin was just something I made up when we first met."

"Well, my name is Li Yu," he said.

"Li Yu," Miss Rabbit repeated softly, committing the name to memory before asking, "And your surname?"

"Li."

"Li Yu Li?"

"No, Li is my surname, my name is just one character, 'Yu', it's the tradition from where I come from," Li Yu explained.

"That's quite an unusual tradition, but your real name sounds pretty nice," said the girl, "Mer... Li Yu, were you the same when you were in Divine Country?"

"What do you mean? You might as well keep calling me Merlin, I've gotten used to it."

"Hmm, being so serious and difficult to read, one can't tell what you're thinking. I've heard some people are born lacking a certain emotion, are you like that?"

"No, I just worked too much," Li Yu said indifferently.
