Work Prophet

Chapter 85 Merlin's Deal

Peace didn't last long. The Red Dragon caught its breath and quickly launched a new round of attacks.

The intelligence of the giant dragon species was far superior to that of other wild beasts.

After suffering a loss during the initial aggressive onslaught, the Red Dragon changed its battle strategy, trying not to clash head-on with the White Dragon but instead focusing on entanglement.

Meanwhile, the Azure Dragon on the other side seemed to understand the strategy, capitalizing on its speed advantage, and even switched targets. It gave up on the tough-skinned White Dragon and turned to attack the humans on its back instead.

Miss Rabbit watched as a claw grazed over her head. Fortunately, the White Dragon noticed the danger in time and tucked in its wings, plunging downwards to avoid the lethal strike.

But the Red Dragon pressed on. However, it somewhat overestimated itself, or underestimated the White Dragon under the "Dragon Slayer Seal".

The latter moved much faster; despite the Red Dragon's caution, it was still swept by the White Dragon's hind leg, and a cloud of blood burst in the air.

The Red Dragon let out an angry roar and turned its head to bite at the White Dragon's neck.

It had always been the leader among the three dragons and could not accept the White Dragon's repeated challenges to its authority, having already submitted to it.

Initially, the White Dragon was indeed deterred by the Red Dragon's accumulated authority and was somewhat restrained, but as it fought, it realized the great power it now possessed and no longer backed down to confront it.

The White Dragon calmly dodged the Red Dragon's ferocious bite, and the Lady on its back could even hear the loud clang of their teeth clashing.

Seeing the giant dragon's head whiz past her left hand, the White Dragon also opened its mouth, baring its fangs, and bit onto the Red Dragon's exposed neck at an even faster speed.

When the Red Dragon's weak spot was attacked, it truly panicked, flailing its claws and scratching at the White Dragon's chest. However, the White Dragon remained indifferent, withstanding the claw strikes and firmly biting the Red Dragon's neck without letting go.

During this time, Li Yu casually bestowed another strength blessing on the White Dragon.

A ten percent increase in strength might not seem significant, but at that moment, it was enough to become the last straw that broke the camel's back.

Blood gushed from the Red Dragon's neck, and it looked as though its neck was about to be severed. At this critical moment, the Azure Dragon reappeared and opened its mouth to breathe out a Dragon Flame.

Seeing this, the White Dragon swiftly released its bite. It was too late to dodge, and to protect those on its back, including Li Yu, it ultimately chose to shield them with its chest, taking the brunt of the Dragon Flame.

At the same time, it also breathed fire towards the Azure Dragon.

But the Azure Dragon had no intention of lingering in battle. After rescuing the Red Dragon, it immediately turned around and flew toward Bratis Continent.

The Red Dragon, having narrowly escaped death, also cast aside any concerns for its dignity as a leader and fled in haste, wishing it had been born with an extra pair of wings.

Li Yu, of course, did not want to miss this rare opportunity and immediately ordered the White Dragon to pursue. But at that moment, a cluster of small black dots rose into the sky above Bratis Continent.

The black dots grew in number and eventually became a dense mass.

Li Yu looked regretfully at the Red Dragon and the Azure Dragon not far away. If he had been alone, he would have used up a resurrection to take down at least one of the giant dragons while they were vulnerable.

But with Ireya and Zhu Zhigang alongside him, Li Yu decided against taking the risk and watched the two dragons escape back to where they came from.

He then took out a horn, set the volume to the maximum, and shouted across, "Solomon, is Solomon there?"

A moment later, one of the small black dots broke away from the mass and flew towards them.

It wasn't Solomon who arrived but one of his translators, looking around forty years old. He flew up to face the White Dragon, saying warily, "Who are you?"

"I am Ireya, the Family Head of the Arias family, and beside me is Prophet Merlin of the Double Rest Sect," Miss Rabbit replied.

"What brings you here?"

"I would like to meet your Commander Solomon and discuss a matter of business with him," Li Yu said.

"We are enemies. I don't think there is any business left to discuss."

"Really," Li Yu pointed behind him at Lannita, "Does Solomon not intend to save the daughter of Sibulun either?"

"Lady Lannita?" The translator flew closer to see the Wing Tribe girl bound on the back of the dragon and couldn't help but be astonished.

Upon discovering that Lannita was still alive, an expression of joy emerged on his face.

He moved forward two steps until the White Dragon's huge pupils locked onto him, and then he stopped again.

Afterward, he glanced at Li Yu and Ireya but said nothing more and turned back to fly away.

About a quarter of an hour later, the translator returned, pointing to a small village not far off.

"Lord Solomon says he will meet with you there, but you have to command the White Queen to fly away a bit. Like you, Lord Solomon will also bring only two people with him," he said.

"That is acceptable," Li Yu nodded in agreement. He had the White Dragon take them to that small village.

Once everyone had landed, the White Dragon spread its wings and took off again. However, it didn't stray too far, hovering at a distance similar to that from which the Wing Tribe people had flown over from Fertile Corner, guarding against any treachery on their part.

After a short wait, the city gates of Fertile Corner opened and a carriage drove out.

The carriage didn't stop on its way, heading straight for the small village where Li Yu and the others were.

Miss Rabbit took no chances, immediately finding cover and crouching behind it, while checking her firearms once again.

Zhu Zhigang, meanwhile, took Lannita back into a barn.

Only Li Yu, wearing the "Glory of the Dead," stood motionless in front of the barn.

About twenty minutes later, the carriage finally entered the village and stopped in front of Li Yu.

The carriage driver was a Wing Clan Warrior, robust and with a determined gaze – clearly a master of his craft.

As the carriage door opened, a man with white hair, even the hair on his neck, and a pair of huge gray wings, stepped out.

Following him was the translator who had just gone to meet Li Yu and Ireya; inside the carriage was one more person.

It was Xiu Shilei from the Double Rest Sect, who had been ordered to convey Saturday's warning to Solomon. Solomon had initially thought to kill him, but Redio told the Wing Clan Commander,

that if he wished to exchange Lannita back, he also had to ensure Redio's life, as he was part of the transaction, and an indispensable part at that.

So, Solomon brought him to the West Boundary as well.

This Wing Clan Commander, who is likely the most influential man on the Bratis Continent right now, did not rush to negotiate with Li Yu. Instead, he first looked over the Prophet of the Double Rest Sect, then he spoke.

"You are indeed just like the rumors say, not a person from this Continent," he said.
