Chapter 124: CH: 123 Giant flying creature

{Chapter: 123 Giant flying creature}

The sound of distant gunfire, the piercing screams, and the relentless roar of the zombies echoed across the desolate land. Zombies, driven by hunger, relentlessly chased down the remaining survivors, turning the scene into a brutal predator-prey display, as the infected feasted on the weak and the helpless.

William strolled leisurely through the chaos, unfazed by the carnage unfolding around him. "You may have lost your lives," he said with a calm, mocking tone, "but at least you enjoyed a decent meal before your end."

A fierce shout broke the air as Carlos, overcome by rage and desperation, fired a series of shots at William.

In an instant, William flickered and appeared before Carlos, grabbing him by the neck with unnerving speed and effortlessly lifting him off the ground. "You truly don't understand, do you?" he said with a cold smile. "If you want to die so badly, then just go ahead."

Carlos, struggling and gasping for air, glared back, his voice trembling. "I won't... I won't give in."

William chuckled, amused by the stubborn defiance, and with a casual flick of his wrist, hurled Carlos into the throng of approaching zombies.

"No!" Alice screamed from a distance of thirty meters, rushing forward in a desperate attempt to save him.

But it was too late. The zombies pounced, and within moments, Carlos' frantic thrashing ceased, his body overwhelmed by the undead. The screams of agony were soon drowned by the gnashing of teeth and tearing of flesh.

Alice reached the scene, her face pale and her hands trembling. With swift, precise strikes, she cleaved through the three zombies attacking Carlos, their heads flying from their shoulders, their bodies collapsing lifelessly to the ground.

But it was too late. Carlos lay motionless, his body savaged by the undead. Alice knelt beside him, calling his name, but there was no response. Her eyes burned with fury, her hands trembling as they clenched into fists. "William, I'll make you pay for this," she growled, her voice a low, seething promise.

William, meanwhile, was nowhere to be seen. Alice's rage, left unchecked, manifested as she unleashed her fury on the remaining zombies, her blades cutting through them with deadly precision, each striking a violent release of her grief and anger.

From the top of the replica Eiffel Tower, Terry watched the unfolding scene below with disbelief. "How... How could this happen?" she muttered, her voice thick with confusion. "Why would William do this?"

Jill, her expression one of bitter resignation, let out a sigh. "Don't you see? That bastard has never been a hero. He does whatever he wants, and damn the consequences."

"I refuse to believe it," Terry replied, shaking his head in disbelief. "This... this isn't the William I know."

"Just whatever you want."

Jill's eyes narrowed, and a flicker of contradiction passed through them. Despite everything, despite how bad William was, he had never harmed her. Yet she knew, deep down, the harsh truth that was becoming undeniable she was falling.

Suddenly, a scream echoed through the air, followed by frantic footsteps. Kmart, her face pale and her breath rapid, ran in a panic, two zombies hot on her heels.

"Don't come near me!" she cried, her voice shaking with fear as she stumbled and fell into the yellow sands, her hands desperately trying to push herself backward.

The zombies closed in, their fetid mouths ready to devour her.

Just as they were about to pounce, a calm voice pierced the air. "It's alright." Kmart felt strong arms wrap around her waist, lifting her effortlessly. Her eyes met a familiar, warm smile. "William," she whispered in relief.

The two zombies, confused by the sudden disappearance of their prey, turned and rushed toward William. William's pupils changed slightly, and the two zombies were split in half by a stream of air.

"I'll get you to a safe place," William murmured, his figure blurring as he vanished from sight.

Within moments, he reappeared atop the Eiffel Tower, carrying Kmart in his arms. He set her down gently and looked at her with a measured, detached gaze. "Stay here," he instructed, before disappearing again.

"William..." Terry's voice wavered, her heart heavy with confusion and doubt. She wanted to speak, to ask, to understand, but no words came.

Meanwhile, inside a car, the infected lj sat huddled in a corner, his body growing increasingly weak and feverish. His skin was pale, and his breath came in shallow gasps. The signs of the T-virus were unmistakable, but lj kept it hidden, never revealing his infection to the others.

A voice, soft and cruel, reached his ears. "You're afraid, aren't you? Soon, you'll be just like them."

Lj's wide, terrified eyes locked onto William, who appeared before him, an eerie calmness in his expression.

"Let me help you relieve the pain," William said coldly, leveling a gun at lj's head.

"Please, don't kill me," lj begged, his voice desperate and pleading. "I... I don't want to die."

But there was no mercy in William's eyes. With a single, swift motion, he pulled the trigger. The bullet struck lj's head with deadly accuracy, and the infected man slumped lifelessly to the floor.

William tossed the gun aside, the sound of the metal clinking against the ground reverberating in the silence. He stepped out of the car, his eyes scanning the horizon as if already moving on to whatever came next.

Elsewhere, Alice continued to fight her way through the zombies, the knives in her hands slicing through them with vicious precision. But as she killed one zombie after another, her body froze, an involuntary tremor coursing through her as the unmistakable logo of the Umbrella Corporation flashed in her eyes. Her body locked in place, unable to move, caught in the thrall of a satellite-controlled system.

"Controlled..." William's voice echoed in her ears as he appeared before her, his figure materializing from thin air.

He looked at her with a strange, almost affectionate smile, his fingers grazing her cheek lightly. "You're strong, aren't you? Such resolve."

Alice's eyes flashed with the Umbrella logo again, and she shuddered, her body trembling from the control over her mind. William's words lingered in the air. "You'll have to break free of the satellite control," he said, his tone almost kind.

With a flicker, William disappeared once more, leaving Alice to wrestle with the forces controlling her body.

As she struggled against the control, a chip within her burned out, the satellite connection severing, and the moment, Alice regained control of her own body. She cried out, her fists clenched in frustration, but she knew what she had to do. She moved, determined, to find what she sought.

---

Far away, in a high-walled compound, a helicopter hummed in the distance, its engines roaring as it prepared to depart. Inside the tent, Dr. Isaacs barked orders to his team. "The new signal is incoming," he said impatiently.

Seconds ticked by, and a countdown began. "Fifteen seconds," someone called from the back.

"Get ready, hurry up!" Isaacs snapped.

"Five, four, three, two, one..."

The computer screen flickered to life, but there was no sign of Alice. Isaacs' face twisted with frustration. "Where is she? Where the hell did she go?"

Before anyone could answer, the door to the tent suddenly slammed open, and Alice walked in, gun in hand, her eyes burning with determination.

"Stop her! Hurry!" Isaacs shouted in panic, his voice rising with fear.

---

The air outside seemed to shift as a huge shadow passed across the ground, casting an ominous pall over the camp. From the top of the Eiffel Tower, Jill's eyes widened in terror. "What... what the hell is that?" she gasped, staring in disbelief at the massive creature soaring through the sky, its enormous wings cutting through the air like a harbinger of doom.
