Yaxoc's Adventure: Act 9

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Preparation For War

THE FINAL WAR BEGINS10:00 AM – United Chronic City

The once-bustling streets of United Chronic City were now filled with the sound of drills, hammers, and construction machinery. The city's skyline was changing, but not because of new skyscrapers—a massive barrier was being erected around its borders, its foundation reinforced with divine essence and modern technology.

A presidential broadcast played on every screen across the city. The President of United Chronic stood at the podium, his expression grim yet determined. Behind him, high-ranking officials and savior commanders stood in silence.

"We are at the brink of annihilation."

His voice carried through the city, reaching every home, every citizen, and every survivor clinging to hope.

"This barrier is not just a wall—it is our last stand. Our final chance to push back against the darkness that threatens to consume our world. We cannot allow another mass extinction. We cannot allow another city to fall."

He raised his hand.

"We do this for our people. We do this for our children. We cannot face this threat alone, and that is why the saviors will lead everyone to the underground shelters. When night falls... it will be too late."

The entire city watched in silence as the broadcast continued.

"To you, saviors…protect our world."

The screen went black.

YAXOC & HANNAH TRAINING

Yaxoc stood on the rooftop of a tall building, balancing a small, glowing crystal in his palm. The Gem of Hope shimmered in the sunlight, its energy pulsing softly.

"You should be training," said Hannah, appearing behind him.

"I don't need to."

Hannah crossed her arms. "Don't be reckless. We're heading into war, not some fun little tournament. Even the strongest need preparation."

Yaxoc tossed the gem into the air and caught it absentmindedly.

"I already maxed out my essence," he said nonchalantly.

Hannah sighed. "Then at least train with the new saviors."

"I'd rather not."

"Why?"

"They suck."

Hannah groaned, rubbing her temples. "You're impossible."

She then glanced at the gem. "And what about that?"

Yaxoc twirled it between his fingers.

"Dunno yet. Guess I'll hold onto it."

"Save it for an emergency," Hannah suggested.

"Maybe."

There was a long pause before Hannah suddenly changed the subject.

"Unrelated question… do you think we'll see each other in another world?"

Yaxoc raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"You've never been in a war, have you?"

He shook his head. "Never. And I failed history, so I don't even know if there have been conflicts between the continents."

Hannah let out a small laugh but quickly became serious again.

"War is… a field of death. It's not just a battle. It's a nightmare where lifeless bodies pile up, explosions shake the ground, and every breath could be your last. Soldiers fight knowing they may never see their loved ones again. Some fight for glory, others for survival. And then… there are those who just want it to end."

She turned toward him.

"So I'll ask you again. Do you think we'll see each other in another world?"

Yaxoc stared at her for a moment before shaking his head.

"Death is the end of connection. When the soul separates from the body, it can't interact with the living anymore. No matter how much it tries to stay close… everything fades away."

Hannah smiled faintly.

"I'm glad you understand."

She turned and walked away, leaving Yaxoc alone with his thoughts.

BAMBON & LANAIS – WAR PREPARATIONS

On the peak of Mt. Yeoric's Coffin, Bambon stood with his arms crossed, his gaze fixed on the distant figures of Lucius and Ogamak. The battlefield was taking shape.

Beside him, Lanais watched as well.

"The war begins in a few hours," Bambon muttered. "I've trained enough."

"It's not just a war," Lanais said. "It's a battle that will determine the fate of this world. And our mission is to make sure our reality isn't erased."

Bambon cracked his knuckles. "Can I use my Infinite Technique?"

Lanais glanced at him.

"That ability has a limit of 30 minutes. If you activate it too early, Lucius and Ogamak will take advantage of the cooldown and kill you."

Bambon narrowed his eyes. "So, even Modern Bambon would struggle against them…"

"Yes. Even at his strongest, he is not on Lucius and Ogamak's level."

Lanais turned to leave but hesitated.

"And if Lucius awakens his strongest demon form… he will attract HIS attention."

Bambon frowned.

"Who is HE…?"

YAXOC ANNOYS EVERYONE

Meanwhile, Yaxoc was teleporting across the city, bothering everyone.

First, he teleported behind Luna, who flinched.

"?! Huh?! Yaxoc?"

"Did I scare you?"

"A little… What do you want?"

"The war starts in a few hours. Train as much as you can."

Before she could respond, he vanished.

Next, he appeared in front of Marcus, who didn't even react.

"What do you want?"

"Train for the war."

Marcus smirked, cracking his knuckles.

"I was planning on it. I won't let my reputation as a legendary savior be ruined."

Without another word, Marcus took off into the sky.

Then, Yaxoc appeared next to Yaxocara, who was practicing sword strikes.

"HEY! I HAVE A SWORD HERE!"

"Ugh, can you shut up?"

"WHY ARE YOU YELLING?"

"BECAUSE YOU'RE ANNOYING!"

"Wow, imagine not using teleportation."

"SHUT UP!"

"Anyway, the war—"

"I KNOW! NOW GET LOST!"

Before Yaxoc could react, Yaxocara kicked him so hard he flew across the city.

THE FINAL SHOWDOWN

5:00 PM

The sky turned black and red.

From the rooftops, Xavy and Atlan watched as the final pieces of the barrier were being installed.

"Those colors are never a good sign," Atlan muttered.

"Five hours left," Xavy said.

Suddenly, Fate appeared.

"The demons will find a way through the barrier."

"How do you know?" Xavy asked.

"A new demon evolution is coming. Sodo and Tetrada will be the first of their kind."

"And what does that change?"

"Sodo will have immeasurable speed. And Tetrada will have lethal poison control."

"Lame." Xavy rolled his eyes.

"They should've had a more epic form like Star Glitcher," Atlan joked.

"It's not a damn script," Fate scoffed.

"No idea why you're still here," Atlan muttered.

"Because I'm a fragment, like you."

Xavy clenched his fists.

"Enough. We have a plan."

The three vanished.

9:59 PM

On the battlefield, 60,000 saviors stood against 60,000 demons.

Lucius grinned.

"This is the final war."

Hannah stepped forward.

"And it won't be your victory."

Lucius smirked.

"Let's see if you can prove it."
