You Choose an Adopted Son, I Choose Madness

Chapter 23

Chapter 23: The More Serious, the Better:

Su Zhenxing quickly learned who had attacked Su Chen. The culprits stood right before him, while Su Chen lay on the floor, writhing in pain.

His rage surged to new heights.

It was these four brats?!

He recognized them immediately. Just a few days ago, their fathers had come to pay their New Year’s respects, hoping to curry favor. Their families’ businesses depended on Su Corporation’s orders to survive, so flattery was to be expected.

But he never imagined that the sons of those very businessmen—who relied on him—would dare to lay a hand on his son!

And right inside the Su family home, no less!

Dealing with these kids directly wasn’t worth his time.

But their fathers? He would make them pay.

Watching through the livestream, he saw Liu Yanran appear. He knew she wouldn’t let things spiral out of control. She would call for a doctor, and Su Chen would get treatment.

Satisfied that someone was handling it, he shifted his focus.

Grabbing his phone, he called the fathers of the four boys.

The moment the calls connected, he unleashed his fury, cursing each of them out.

Then, he ordered them to come to the Su residence immediately.

Su Zhenxing didn’t care about these four brats, but he needed to see them get punished. How severely? That would depend on Su Chen’s condition.

After hanging up, he grabbed his keys and stormed out, heading home.

Meanwhile, at the Su family estate, Liu Yanran wasted no time. She immediately summoned the family doctor, Dr. Li, to come over.

Since no one knew the extent of Su Chen’s injuries, she didn’t dare move him to a bed. He remained lying on the floor.

Instead, she turned her anger toward Liu Zhe and his gang. Dragging them outside, she unleashed a barrage of insults.

The four boys knew they had messed up.

Hurting Su Chen, of all people, inside his own home—they were in serious trouble.

But they clung to a desperate hope.

After all, wasn’t Su Mu the favored child?

If he spoke on their behalf, maybe they could get away with it.

When Dr. Li arrived at the mansion, he was greeted by the sight of Su Chen, covered in blood, lying on the floor.

Liu Yanran ushered him over before heading back outside—to continue scolding the boys.

She didn’t need to stay.

She trusted Dr. Li’s skills. If even he couldn’t save Su Chen, then what could she do?

As for Su Chen, he wasn’t the least bit sad to see her go.

He had business to take care of.

With Liu Yanran gone, he could finally execute the next phase of his plan.

Dr. Li, focused on his job, opened his medical kit and began treatment.

Grabbing a piece of gauze, he reached for Su Chen’s bloodied face.

But the moment the gauze made contact—he froze.

Something wasn’t right.

He lifted the stained cloth, inspecting it closely.

This… wasn’t blood.

It was tomato juice.

His eyes widened in disbelief as he turned to Su Chen.

Su Chen, a little embarrassed, grinned.

Then, he leaned in and whispered.

“One hundred thousand. Make it sound serious.”

Dr. Li’s mind raced.

He knew Su Chen well. In his previous life, Su Chen had learned something important about him—Dr. Li’s daughter was sick.

He needed money. Desperately.

That was why he had left a prestigious hospital job to become a private doctor for the wealthy.

For money.

But even though he was greedy, he wasn’t corrupt. He had a sense of justice. He despised seeing the weak get bullied.

Now, understanding Su Chen’s plan, he clenched his teeth and whispered back.

“Two hundred thousand. I’ll make it sound very serious.”

Su Chen smirked.

“Deal.”

The two exchanged a knowing glance.

The setup was complete.

Just as they finished, Su Zhenxing arrived—bringing the four fathers with him.

By the time they stepped into the Su household, the men already knew what had happened.

They rushed to their sons.

Two of them ripped off their belts.

The other two grabbed stools from the Su family’s furniture.

Each father seized his own son and began beating the life out of them.

The sharp cracks of belts meeting flesh echoed through the air.

The dull thuds of wood smashing against bodies filled the space.

Liu Zhe and his gang screamed.

The longer the beatings continued, the more colorful their faces became—bruises of red and purple blossomed across their skin.

Su Zhenxing stood off to the side, silent.

But inside, he was thrilled.

“You little punks thought you could hit my son? Let’s see how well you handle getting beaten by your own fathers!”

Liu Yanran also felt deeply satisfied.

Even though she had just spent the past several minutes yelling at these boys, it hadn’t been enough.

Now, watching them cry, beg, and scream, she finally felt better.

Since the beatings took place right at the mansion entrance, Su Chen had a front-row seat.

Lying on the living room floor, he had a perfect view.

He could hear every single cry.

The scene was beautiful.

He smiled.

“Enjoy it while it lasts, you dogs. This is just the beginning.”

If they wanted to be Su Mu’s loyal lapdogs, then they had to be prepared to suffer for it.

The four fathers, after a while, started feeling guilty.

Their sons were covered in bruises.

But they couldn’t stop now.

They had to punish them properly.

After all, they had attacked the Su family’s son.

If they didn’t beat them enough, it might hurt their businesses.

But they were still their children.

As time passed, their movements slowed down.

Some even stopped entirely.

Surely, this was enough to satisfy the Su family, right?

Su Chen, seeing this, wasn’t happy.

The show was getting boring.

He needed to add fuel to the fire.

He suddenly screamed.

“AAGHHH! IT HURTS! IT HURTS SO MUCH!”

“PLEASE, SOMEONE HELP ME!”

“I’M DYING! I’M BLEEDING TO DEATH!”

His cries sent shivers through the air.

Su Zhenxing, hearing his son’s screams, whirled around.

He had been so caught up in watching the beatings that he had almost forgotten about Su Chen.

He stormed into the living room.

The four fathers panicked at Su Chen’s wails.

They snapped back to reality.

Their sons had beaten Su Chen so badly that he was dying?!

Instantly, they resumed the beatings.

Liu Zhe and his friends’ cries reached new heights.

Meanwhile, Dr. Li sprang into action.

Standing over Su Chen, he dramatically shouted.

“Mr. Su! Your son has internal injuries!”

“He’s suffering from internal bleeding!”

The fathers outside, hearing this, lost their minds.

Without hesitation, they swung their belts and stools harder.

Su Chen chuckled to himself.

This was just too easy.
