Chapter 100: Rival
But how could Evylin be easily swayed, especially since she was a tomboy?
Oliver noticed her mood seemed to be worsening.
Fortunately, her thoughts were still more occupied with cultivation.
"Fusion with the Skeleton of Life shouldn't be too difficult, but I'll supervise you. Let's return to my house," she said to Oliver.
The latter nodded and drove for her once again.
From the manager's office, Jackson watched them leave, his brows furrowed.
"You said that man is her disciple. What's his background?" Jackson asked the manager.
Earlier, he had acted as if he didn't care about Oliver, but now, he was the one who had become the focus of his attention.
Of course, he wasn't pleased that another man could remain so close to Evylin, even if their relationship was clearly that of teacher and student.
"Young Master, his background is quite ordinary, nothing worth mentioning. But his talent is truly astonishing…" the manager said, his tone suggesting he himself found the information unbelievable.
"What's so astonishing?" Jackson asked.
"He should already be in the Earth Master Realm. However, according to the information I obtained, he only started cultivating about a week ago. Just one week, yet his cultivation advanced so much. This can only be achieved by a few Awakeners blessed with immense combat power, allowing them to easily slay monsters above their level. Even then, they usually need endless adventures in the Chaotic World."
As the manager explained what he had discovered, Jackson fell silent, his brow furrowed deeper.
"Is this information accurate?" he asked.
"Yes, I found it out from his schoolmates. He just graduated high school, so there's no doubt."
"No wonder Evylin took him as her disciple. It seems he's an unprecedented genius." Jackson had no choice but to acknowledge Oliver's talent, for even to him, it was something he had never encountered before.
"Young Master, he's only Princess Evylin's disciple, and much younger. Why are you so concerned? In my opinion, it's impossible for Princess Evylin to be interested in her own student," the manager voiced his thoughts.
"You think so? Hmph, those who are close have far more opportunities. If that brat desires his teacher, he has many ways to seduce Evylin. It's possible she might even fall for him. From what I can see, that brat is also a scoundrel experienced in charming women…" Jackson replied.
The portly manager almost laughed upon hearing that.
At first, he disagreed, but then he realized Jackson's words did make sense.
He even began to feel Oliver truly was a skilled charmer.
Perhaps he didn't deliberately flirt with women, but he acted in ways that easily drew them in.
The problem was, his appearance alone was enough to attract any woman.
"Young Master, I think you need to do something. That boy is truly a formidable rival. In the end, Princess Evylin must choose a partner for herself if she intends to become Queen, since that's the only way to continue the royal bloodline," he said.
"Do you have any suggestions? But don't let Evylin become angry with me. I mean, nothing violent. I want a subtle way, one that ensures Evylin would never choose him as her partner."
"That's simple. We just need to lure him into bed with a woman, record it, then spread it. A man whose scandal is exposed can't possibly be the Queen's husband. As long as we provide a beautiful woman, I'm sure he won't be able to resist," the manager immediately proposed.
"Of course, in my opinion, we'll need a woman who is not just beautiful but truly alluring. He's probably used to beautiful women already, so we'll need someone with a unique charm, or he won't take the bait," the manager added.
"It's just… I think you're more skilled in this area than I am…" he chuckled.
"Hmm…" Jackson stroked his chin, as though pondering who he should choose for the task.
Oliver had no idea that man was plotting to drive him away from Evylin.
At this moment, he had once again arrived at his teacher's residence, entering the basement that served as Evylin's cultivation chamber.
There, Evylin finally brought out the Skeleton of Life that Oliver had not seen until now.
When he saw it, he couldn't help but be astonished, for it was a complete skeleton, glowing green, brimming with vitality.
"Just touch it and try to absorb it as you would Spiritual Energy," Evylin instructed.
Oliver nodded, placing his hand on the skeleton's shoulder, first sensing its immense vitality.
Then he attempted to absorb it, and the skeleton transformed into a green light that instantly entered his body.
At once, he felt something foreign within him, but it didn't feel threatening.
Instead, he sensed his vitality soaring dramatically, and most astonishing of all, his Second Spiritual Space expanded twofold, immediately drawing in Spiritual Energy to fill itself.
That it would double his energy reserves seemed absolutely true. This meant he would possess twenty times the reserves, provided his mastery of the Order of Life matched that of his Black Hole.
Even with the Order of Life still at the Tenth Stage of the Spiritual Master Realm, his reserves were already tenfold.
The process was swift, and Oliver realized the green skeleton was fusing with his own bones.
If his body were dissected, it would be revealed that he now had a green skeleton.
"It seems to be going smoothly. How do you feel?" Evylin asked him.
He continued probing his body, until he finally noticed a tremendous change in his perception of life itself.
"I think I've become far more gifted," he replied.
"By the way, Master, isn't the strongest Cultivator today also someone who cultivates the power of life? How did he become so strong? Didn't he use the Order of Life?"
Oliver was curious about this, since supposedly no one had ever acquired the next version of the Order of Life.
"He used another scripture, and of course, it's not as good as the Order of Life. He only has six times the reserves. In fact, he's very eager for the next version of the Order of Life because he's also begun cultivating it. Unfortunately, it hasn't helped him at all, since he's only at the Tenth Stage of the Earth Master Realm. If you were to obtain the next version of the Order of Life, I guarantee you could extort him, and he would still pay…" Evylin smiled as she said this last part.
"Or maybe he'd just kill me if I didn't hand it over," Oliver replied half-jokingly.
"If I'm protecting you, he won't be able to do it," Evylin answered with confidence.
Of course, since Evylin was able to become the strongest Cultivator in England, the gap between her and the current strongest wasn't too vast.
Even if she was weaker, it wasn't to the extent that she couldn't survive.
