A Cultivator in the World Dominated By Awakeners

Chapter 99: Extremely Radical

"Hahaha..."

Oliver's manifestation appeared back in his old room.

He couldn't be happier that his manifestation had returned safely.

Although he wouldn't actually lose anything if the manifestation were destroyed, it would mean he could no longer meet those eagles again.

If he created a new manifestation, it would appear somewhere else entirely, practically a different being.

'Now it's safe, I feel more at ease,' he thought, not worrying too much yet about when he would look for a replacement.

He had three days of time, and first he needed to gather information.

Meanwhile, his true body was having lunch with Evylin.

He was eating monster meat from an edible beast-type creature.

The taste was quite extraordinary, far more suitable for a Cultivator like him who required massive nutrition.

"Master, do you know about the curse that prevents someone from cultivating, and even causes sickness if they have done something forbidden?" Oliver finally spoke of the matter that had weighed on him, but which he hadn't found the time to bring up with his teacher.

Besides, this was a heavy topic for him. He had thought long and hard before mustering the courage to talk about it.

Evylin, who had been focused on her food, lifted her gaze to him, raising an eyebrow at his words.

Her reaction alone showed that she did, in fact, know about it.

"Are you talking about your mother?" Evylin asked in response, with a faint smile.

"You know?" Oliver was startled by her words.

"Did you really think I didn't investigate you and your family in detail before I decided to accept you as my disciple? I know about your family more than you know yourself," Evylin replied, leaning back against her chair.

"Then what exactly did my mother and father do in the past?" Oliver asked quickly.

He was deeply curious, though he knew it was something terrible. Still, he couldn't imagine what exactly it was.

"Something extremely radical," Evylin answered with a serious expression.

"Extremely radical?"

Oliver hadn't expected to hear such words from his teacher.

She was clearly not a gentle woman, yet even she called it extreme.

"It's probably better that you don't hear it. Even if you did, there's nothing you could do—your strength is still far too weak. Even I cannot overcome that curse," Evylin said.

Oliver furrowed his brows at that. But honestly, he was also somewhat afraid to know, worried that his perception of his mother might shift, though of course he could never resent her.

"Just focus on becoming stronger. That's what's best for you," Evylin continued.

Oliver nodded, no longer pressing the matter.

Perhaps it was better to wait until he became strong enough, when his mother herself would tell him.

He went back to eating. Since he was already used to thinking about this, it didn't affect his appetite too much.

He and Evylin ate at leisure, then continued with chilled juice made from fruits from the Chaotic World.

Even the ice cubes were carved from Chaotic World ice, which took days to melt.

From time to time, he glanced at the watch on his wrist.

Waiting an hour didn't feel too long while resting in such comfort.

Before long, the fat manager finally returned.

"Your Highness, our young master has arrived and is waiting in my office," the manager reported.

Evylin rose without replying, merely gesturing with her hand for the manager to lead the way.

Oliver followed behind her. They went down the stairs and entered the manager's office again.

This time, Oliver saw another man—one who seemed about the same age as Evylin. He had a handsome face, a broad chest, wore a shirt with the top buttons undone, and leaned back in the manager's chair while puffing on a dark cigar, his legs crossed casually.

It was clearly not the demeanor of someone meeting a business client. But his background had to be acknowledged—his father was the boss of the Path of Power Shop.

The business of Chaotic World products was not something just anyone could run. One needed overwhelming strength to intimidate every competitor.

The Path of Power Shop had many branches, not only in Europe but on other continents as well.

Its boss was unquestionably a truly formidable figure—no wonder his son was so confident in facing anyone.

Besides that, Oliver could sense the man's power. He was clearly a high-level Awakener, though still far below Evylin.

He was likely around Level 30, perhaps 35.

"Your Highness, it is truly fortunate for me to meet you again. You've become even more beautiful..." the man said when he saw Evylin.

His gaze toward her brimmed with admiration.

But Evylin showed only indifference.

"Jackson, no need for small talk. Did you bring the items I requested?" she replied.

"Of course, I brought everything—the Skeleton of Life, ten Black Banana Roots, and ten Giant Dragon Fruits," Jackson answered, tossing her a Storage Ring.

"You may check it first, Your Highness," he added.

Evylin glanced into the Storage Ring before nodding and transferring the items into her own ring.

At the same time, she tossed the Otherworldly Black Rose into Jackson's Storage Ring.

He, of course, checked it first, then smiled in satisfaction.

"We've been searching for this rose for so long. Too many people are willing to pay an enormous price just to cultivate briefly with it. Unfortunately, most of the ones discovered were hoarded by powerful figures unwilling to share. Even though we lost the Skeleton of Life, this is a fair exchange," he said.

"Since you're satisfied, I consider the transaction complete," Evylin replied before turning away.

"Let's go, Oliver," she added.

Jackson seemed surprised that Evylin was trying to leave so abruptly.

"Your Highness, it's been so long since we last met. How about we share a drink? I have a rare vintage my father found in the Chaotic World—it's sure to benefit your cultivation," he said.

"Benefit my cultivation?" Evylin paused, giving him a mocking look.

"You do realize, if my cultivation advances again, I'll be able to beat your father. Do you think a mere bottle of wine could offer me any benefit?" she replied coldly, then snorted before striding on.

Oliver said nothing, simply following her. From time to time, he glanced at Jackson, thinking how his teacher seemed to regard him as no more than a bothersome fly.

In the end, Evylin was a stunning woman. Not only that, she was also a princess, and one of the strongest Cultivators alive.

Ordinary men wouldn't dare approach her—but men with enough background and courage would naturally try to pursue her, hoping to somehow win her heart.
