Chapter 250: Eternal Death melody
The Queen released [Golden Storm] with a roar that shook the cave walls.
A massive whirlwind of golden energy and corruption surged toward Daniel, devouring chunks of rock and tearing through the ground.
Daniel jumped into the air to dodge, but the edges of the whirlwind grazed his body, opening deep wounds on his arm and side.
Crimson blood sprayed out, and the pain burned like a hot blade slicing through him.
"How many damn skills does this bug have?" He infused Heavens Honor with Death energy and added traces of Eternity to it.
In that moment, a deep pain surged through his being. Suddenly, he gained new understanding of Death and Eternity. By merging them, his blade gained a dual aura: deadly black and eternal silver— as if time and death were one.
Until now, he'd tried to use them separately because he didn't know what might happen if he combined them.
But in this situation, he chose to fuse them—not just visually, but conceptually. An energy formed from both Death and Eternity.
A destructive force that endures forever.
He named it: Eternal Death melody.
Daniel screamed and charged at the Queen, spinning Heavens Honor imbued with Eternal Death melody and slashing at one of the Queen's massive mantis-like legs.
The blade tore through golden scales. Green-gold blood exploded as the Queen's leg was severed with a bone-shaking crack.
The cave trembled from the impact, and giant chunks of stone fell from the ceiling. The Queen used [Corruption Healer] to restore her leg, but her aura visibly dimmed.
"Way better than I expected," Daniel muttered with a smile as he saw the results.
The monster's golden skin glowed and her severed leg regenerated rapidly, but her energy had clearly dropped.
"You think these little wounds are gonna stop me, human?" the Queen growled.
"Little? Let me make 'em bigger," Daniel replied with a bloody grin.
The Queen attacked with [Claws of Corrupted Death], her massive claws cloaked in corruption, tearing through the air and ground as they rushed toward Daniel.
He dodged quickly, but one claw grazed his shoulder, opening a deep wound. Blood sprayed as burning pain surged like acid through his veins.
There was no time to hesitate now. He was gaining the upper hand against this beast—if he backed off now, he'd lose the chance.
He struck back with Eternal Death melody. His blade clashed with one of the Queen's claws and cut it clean off with a deafening crack.
Green-gold blood splattered everywhere. The Queen screamed in fury and reeled back. Daniel laughed.
"What's wrong, big mama bug? Can't flap your wings anymore?"
The Queen responded with [Eternal Corruption Light].
Blinding beams of corruption shot from her red eyes like lasers, searing through air and earth.
The attack reminded Daniel of the Eyes of Destruction. Watching it gave him several new insights—ideas to test later.
He dodged to the side with a leap, but one of the beams clipped his leg, burning deep into the flesh. He clenched his teeth, added Fire energy to his blade, and attacked her fragile wings.
Black and red flames scorched her left wing, and the Queen let out a roar that shook the ground.
The cave was now collapsing rapidly—giant stones crashing down from above, and cracks spreading through the earth beneath them.
Everything underground was falling apart.
Daniel used Eternal Death melody to strike another leg. The blade tore through golden scales and severed the second leg.
The Queen crashed to the ground. The cave rumbled under her weight, deep fissures splitting the walls. She retaliated with [Wrath of the Earth].
She slammed her massive body into the floor, sending out a wave of corrupted energy and shattered stone toward Daniel.
He leapt upward to dodge, but a large rock slammed into his chest, cracking his ribs. Blood spilled from his mouth, but he roared and stabbed his sword into her remaining arm, severing it too.
He had nearly disabled all her critical limbs. Just a bit more, and victory would be his.
The Queen, now heavily wounded with two legs and one claw gone, was still dangerous. She unleashed [Queen's Howl], a piercing scream.
Sonic waves slammed into Daniel's mind and body like a storm, his ears rang, and his vision blurred.
"This many mental attacks?" he was surprised—this beast had used several mind-based skills already, all scream-based.
But the more she used them, the less effective they became.
Daniel poured all his remaining Death and Eternity energy into Heavens Honor. The blade glowed—like Death and Eternity themselves had taken form inside it.
He could feel it—this was the last bit of Eternity energy he could borrow for today. The Eternity Bloom was reaching its limit.
With one final leap, he charged at the Queen's heart. She tried to block with her remaining claw, but Daniel slashed it off with Eternal Death melody and drove the blade into her golden chest.
"Now!"
Green and gold blood gushed out in a massive burst, and the Queen let out a scream that shook the cave as she collapsed.
Daniel pushed his blade deeper, grabbed her core, and crushed it.
Before her life force faded, the Queen released one final, terrifying shriek that made the entire underground tremble and begin to collapse.
"I finally did it," he muttered. He had killed the Queen—but the cave was now on the verge of total collapse.
Massive stones rained down from the ceiling, and the ground under his feet split apart.
Daniel, breathing heavily, leaned on Heavens Honor. His body was covered in deep cuts, burns, and blood.
It was over... finally over.
His eyes remained locked on the Queen's massive corpse.
Still, he didn't collapse right there. Without hesitation, he dropped a single drop of his blood onto the Queen's corpse.
[Attempt to create a new Fallen One]
[Attempt was successful]
Suddenly, a light appeared from between the heavens and the earth, engulfing the monster's body.
It only lasted a few moments before vanishing.
The Queen had come back to life—
But she was completely different now.
Her golden color had changed to black and purple, with streaks resembling a starry sky.
The eyes that once glowed blood-red now shined with a brilliant golden light.
Her fragile wings had been replaced with strong, powerful black ones.
Her size remained the same, with no major changes to her body structure.
